I noticed many people are interested in relocating to Germany using the new Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte), especially in 2026.
I recently made a YouTube video where I explained: – How the Opportunity Card really works – The real cost of living beyond the blocked account – Why some people are returning home after a few months – Which jobs actually give foreigners a chance in 2026
This is not a motivational video it’s a reality check.
I just want to leave this information here, cos by this time last week I was searching the internet asking what to expect during my German student visa appointment. Please note if you live and reside in UK, don’t bother preparing for any interview. No interview will be conducted. On getting there yesterday I was the first and only one for student visa. The lady collected my documents told me to have a sit while she arrange everything for me, then I paid the visa fees and dhl fees too. That’s all it. So fast.
HudsonTaylor: If you have your documents, go to the consulate portal, register and upload your documents to stay on the queue ASAP. Don't waste any time. Most people booked using the old portal. By the grace of God when Embassy is done attending to everyone on that old portal, they will start responding to those that booked on the new portal.
Please can you tell me all of the documents you took to the embassy. My interview is next week. I appreciate thank you
HudsonTaylor: I used Expatrio, the offer& transaction was seamless, funds were transfered from Germany and i got and printed my confirmation instantly. They also gave health insurance and travel insurance. Everything was about 12,200 there about in total. This is my own experience, you can explore other options you've mentioned and make your choice.
I have gotten admission for a 2nd masters in USA , I already have a masters in Uk. The thing is that my Eb2 was received June 7, actively reviewing June 10. I live in Uk and don’t know if I should carry on with my F1 interview schedule for next week or cancel it?
Hannania: Email the embassy in the UK ask how long does it take to get an appointment. That way, you can do your calculations on when to book and go for your interview.
