The European Union on Monday approved new sanctions on Israeli settlers "guilty of supporting the extremist and violent colonisation of the West Bank", French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said on social media.

Israel called the sanctions “arbitrary and political” and vowed to stand '”for the right of Jews” to settle in the West Bank.

Iran is considering asserting control over seven major undersea internet cables that pass through the Strait of Hormuz, and a new report from The Kobeissi Letter reveals just how significant this move could be.

Under the proposed policy, foreign telecom operators would be required to obtain permits from Iran, pay fees, comply with Iranian law, and rely exclusively on Iranian companies for all management and maintenance of the cables.
