It is no longer breaking news that the new economy in the world is found on the internet. Yes many individuals and cooperate organisations are making a lot of profit in their business as a result of taking advantage of the online space.

In 2016 I decided to take the journey of becoming financially free with or without a job. I fell into the hands of ponzi scheme and one of the incidents that made me so angry to the point of seeking for help was when half of my allowance during my youth service was taken and never returns by one of the ponzi scheme platforms.

Hunger showed me the other side of sleeping without food in your stomach. I made a lot of mistakes many people are still making till today. It is very frustrating seeing same mistakes I made being repeated by some individuals.
This is why my post today will be focused on addressing some of these mistakes so you can either avoid them or correct them especially as a beginner who wants to make money online but struggles to even see 5 naira.

MISTAKE 1
IMPATIENCE

Hmm I feel like crying typing this now because in our generation, we have been shown the fast lane of life so we think those movies and motivational audio and video programs we watch gives us the correct blueprint to just venture into making money online and start seeing dollars in your account.

Truth be told it doesn't exist in the land of impatience. Making money online requires patience in understanding how things are done and knowing that it is a journey not an event.

If you want to just hit billions in a week when it comes to online business then you are not ready to make money. Yes it is true that there is money making opportunities online but those who are in haste to make money will rush out of it broken and frustrated.

MISTAKE 2
GOING ON YOUR OWN

It takes more than zeal and I must make it affirmation to make money online. If you do not find those who are legitimately making money online to teach you by paying them then you will keep making mistakes and who knows when you will be done experimenting.

I saw myself in the ditch of writing content that just got likes and comments for a long time. Immediately I found an expert who makes money from writing I enroll for his class and today my case is different. Do not think you can go on your own especially as a beginner because making money online has its ups and downs which if you lack the technical know how you will burn your fingers.

Get someone to teach you how it is done so that the results you desire will not remain a wish when in actual sense it can become a reality.

MISTAKE 3
LACK OF PROFESSIONAL SOCIAL MEDIA PROFILE

Except you want to be giving your clients online doubts that you are a scammer and not an expert then do not bother about your social media profile.

I see a lot of people just posting products and services on their social media profile without any professional picture, no professional bio data. Their timeline or status has no valuable content but they want to make money online.
Aunty and uncle,it doesn't work like that. People first buy into who you are and the value which you offer in form of content before buying your products or services.
This is why learning content writing is very essential if you want to make money online and if you are the busy type them hiring a content writer is crucial to making money online.

The worst thing that can happen to you as a teacher is not when your salary gets exhausted but when you have money making opportunities and you are ignorant of it.

I have seen many teachers who are talented and skilled but remained glued to just classroom teaching and retired like that without maximzing the money making opportunities hidden in the classroom.

There are at least 5 hidden money making opportunities in your classroom experience as a teacher which time won't permit me to share all but will talk on 2 of them.

SPEAKING
Many of us do not know that the words you speak every week to the students for free every month is also what people like Fela Durotoye has turned into money making machine. How do I mean?
Speaking is not just what you do in class as a teacher but also what you can turn into a business and become an expert in it so much that you earn at least 50,000 naira every month.
Most teachers have a lot of knowledge on several areas as a result of teaching different subjects. You can apply this same strategy and identify a particular area you are very good at and develop in that area. Let us say you love speaking to single ladies on how to find the right spouse and you just say it like an advice when female students come to your office or you have opportunity to speak to them on the assembly ground.

That knowledge can become a starting point for you to become a public speaker. Instead of just teaching in class, you can take it a step further and become a public speaker.
Start by organising free seminar with your students,go to churches and from there people start knowing you and calling you to come speak for a fee.
You can use your social media platform. Just start somewhere. Do not stay glued alone in class when you can create streams of income from it by starting a speaking business.

COACHING
As a teacher most times you interact one on one with students,you give them advice on some areas of their lives that needs improvement.
That advice is a major sign that you have ability to coach people if you understand how.
Have you not noticed that most of the students you advice come back and give testimonies of how you helped them through talking to them on the right thing to do.
You can also make.money doing this by coaching people having issues relating to what you can help them solve.

Do you know there are students confused about what career path to take and how to build their dreams career? You knew how choosing a career as a teacher was easy for you,why not turn that experience into a coaching business where you help them gain clarity of what they want.

I believe you will thank me months to come as long as you apply all I have said above.
