Some of the things you guys say about the relationship between the Igbo and her neighbors doesn't make any logical sense.
As I mentioned earlier the fact that smaller ethnic groups surround the Igbo despite the Igbos larger population suggests two possibilities: either the Igbo lacked the ability to conquer and assimilate them or they were simply not interested in doing so.
Either way, it proves that the Igbo have never been a threat to the survival of these groups. Such empires were typically built through bloody conquest where smaller groups were overpowered and subjugated to pay allegiance to the larger dominant power.

It was heartbreaking to read those stories about the death of innocent people, children became orphans, Wives turned Widows, unprovoked.

Over 200,000 innocent Igbo men, women and children where killed and their properties converted in the northern and western nigeria. the polgrom of 1966 led to the declaration of biafra and the civil war which lead to the killing of over 2 million Igbos men women and children by armament and weaponization of hunger by the hausa and their Yoruba supporters.
