From what I've been seeing Swift is the way to go. Only that I don't have service in my area. One bar is manage and yet I'll still get 600kbps download speed on my friend's mifi compared to ntel with full bar and 180kbps download speed. Does anyone have a spare Swift some I can use for network testing for a whole before I get mine?

Whether you are on stable rom ( global or china) or beta rom (global or china ) it is always advisable to do a clean install / factory reset whenever you start experiencing bugs with a new rom, that is a common knowledge peculiar to miui. If you are averse to reflashing/ factory reset, then it's best you read feedbacks before deciding to update your phone.

About the notification style, that is subjective and you have every right to dislike it.

I hope you'd be okay with it if your next update has elements of KitKat showing all over it. You're missing the point. It was a BAD update. Even those who did a full flash has same issues. Like xiaomi didn't force the update even with auto update turned off

You're moving from nougat to oroe, it's a major update, so don't expect an OTA update experience to be the same as a fastboot/clean install update experience.

Restoring app backup after the update is not even advisable.

Like I said, I know I see your point but Firstly I'm using global not china stable. The fact that the notification system was changed back to MIUI 8 style shows how broken it is. Among other little things. And u can't expect ever person to do a reset or clean install just because it's a major update. This didn't happen on my note 4x.
