A total of 14 players trained on Monday evening as Nigeria’s Super Falcons commenced preparations for Friday’s 2028 Olympics Women’s Football Tournament qualifying match against the senior women national team of Comoros 🇰🇲. Both teams will clash again in the return at the same Remo Stars Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Interim Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen has released Oluwakemi Adegbuyi and Favour Nkwocha (who featured for the Falconets at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland) back to the U17 women’s team, Flamingos. The Flamingos are scheduled to fly out of Nigeria on Wednesday for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup finals taking place in Morocco.


Defender Ashleigh Plumptre has been excused due to injury (sprain and ligament), and SL Benfica duo of Oluwatosin Demehin and Flourish Sabastine will not be coming due to resident permit pursuits.

Asisat Oshoala pleaded to be excused, Eguavoen has call up Belarus-based former U20 team forward Blessing Okpe.

Honestly, if you're waiting for the NBBF to appoint a full time coach, then you're looking at appointing a below par coach, cus some of the best coaches in the world aren't the ones coaching a national team where they get to coach players once or twice in a year's window...
Don't forget that Rena herself was a full time coach initially until she got that job with the Sky and Hive BC, which I strongly believe was helped by her impressive performance with the team during the Olympics and afro basket..

What the team needs now is a squad overhaul...

Rena picked her players , so their awful performance and elimination are solely on her

Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team captain, Joy Igbokwe, is set to miss the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup following a visa setback, AdemolaSports reports.

The Nasarawa Amazons midfielder was expected to be part of Nigeria’s squad but is now set to miss the tournament just days before the competition begins.

Igbokwe’s place is expected to be taken by another player.

AdemolaSports understands that a few other players have also been affected by the visa situation.

It is a major blow for the Falconets, with Igbokwe having played a key role in Nigeria’s qualification campaign.

The presidency can resurrect the EFCC case against Pinnick at least to throw him off guard and then find a way of pushing Gusau out. I feel if govt interferes, with Pinnick in FIFA, he could influence FIFA to start crying about govt interference.

There are many ways the government can interfere to get rid of those cancers.

You misunderstood my post , Magudu fate is already sealed.
Now the people that would sack him ( if he doesn't resign) are the same people that employed him ( which shows how grossly incompetent they are) to coach the most decorated national team in Africa would want to use his sacking to cover their incompetency ( which should not be allowed).

The Chinese team we played the first 2 games is the "reserve". By that I mean some of their key players like Li Yueru and Han Xu didn't participate cause of their commitment in the WNBA. But we still played a good team. In the last game however, they rested a few of the top players that participated in the first 2 games.

Then we should be very worried that a "reserve of the reserved" team could attack us in the 3rd and 4th qtrs like that.

We once had Precious Dede, Tochukwu OLUEHI and Alaba Jonathan as the SuperFalcons three regular goalkeepers at some point..

How would the other keepers step up when they've not been given any opportunity to woman ( man) the post) ?
Nnadozie needs to understand that it's very difficult to get your position back as a keeper if you're displaced
