Lol. The way you keep laying emphasis on Orile as if it's a specific place in Lagos.
For your information, we have Orile Agege, Orile Iganmu, Orile Oshodi, Orile Alagbado.
Each comes with its opportunities. Which will you be staying?
Sorry if I made mistake ma. It's orile iganmu.. I think I'm right..

Any opportunity for me ma?

Let me be honest with you, they won't pay you up to 100k let alone 200k except you are applying for higher roles like a manager which requires higher qualification. I would advise that you add skills to it like driving, carpentary(there is real money in it but it is not for the weak) phone engineering, welding etc.
I want to learn driving but I don't know who will give me motor

It is good to see young sensible men posting things that pertain to the future. Bro...you are in luck since you have a place to stay for the mean time.

You will definitely make it. 100k is so doable in Lagos. It will even be great if you can ride Keke or Okada. Anything driving will fetch you money faster than anything else. Teaching primarily school is another thing that is lucrative.

Please refrain from Yahoo as there are lots of them over there. Just focus on your target and be good. God bless
The problem is who will give me motor to ride sir. I can learn fast sir. I like driving

100 to 200k, with WAEC and NECO Certificate? Lol, even people with HND and Bsc aren't finding easy to get it. Bro, it's neither easy here too. Your WAEC and NECO may not get such. I think you should acquire skills to your certificate. It is very hard to see a firm in Nigeria that will pay a WAEC or NECO holder 100k, let alone 200k.
What of hotel work sir? I have started submitting my CV to hotels here in the east. But I just want to relocate to Lagos. I can do hotel work like housekeeping, porter sir

There are lots of opportunities in Lagos and the challenges are daunting too.

They don't pick money on the street in Lagos, what skills do you have?

If the only thing you have to make money is your muscles, Lagos will frustrate your life.

Are there items or products you can bring from the East and sell here? Even if na ogbono.

Is your food, clothing and shelter guaranteed before you find your footing?

Lagos is Africa's New York. People from several countries are desperately looking for money here.

May you not fall into the hands of scammers and ritualists.
I want to look for work when I come sir

My brother, let me tell you something straight - about moving to Lagos to make it, because I've been exactly where you are right now, full of that same fire and belief that Lagos equals success, but let me give you the raw truth from my own 5-year war with that city. I landed in Ojodu Berger in 2015 with big dreams but left in 2020 with nothing but regret after employers frustrated me with unpaid salaries, transport broke me with endless traffic and high costs, and even family disappointed me when that uncle who promised help charged me 80k for a closet under his staircase. The day I ran away to Delta State was when my life finally changed - my Igbo friend he’s name is mark moved to Asaba's Ogbogonogo Market to learn how to sell foodstuffs and as we speak has 3 boys he brought from the village to teach them the trade like he learnt it with a second shop while I found peace, cheaper living, and real opportunities that eventually brought me to America today. So before you go, ask yourself hard questions: do you have a solid plan beyond just "hustling", a real place to stay knowing landlords demand 2 years rent upfront, let me don’t scare you, your uncle might show you premium shege( I might be wrong but plan for the eventuality, cause anything can happen), can you handle extreme mental, financial and spiritual pressure? If not, explore options in the East first - learn a trade in Aba's markets like my friend mark did( that is if you have someone there to accommodate till you finish learning the trade, pick up skills in Onitsha/Asaba, or network in Port Harcourt's oil sector because Lagos is a brutal gamble where only 1 in 10 make it without turning to yahoo, thuggery or becoming some big man's errand boy. Think well my brother, Lagos doesn't give second chances and I'm telling you this not to scare you but because I don't want you learning the hard way like I did - the city works for some but consumes most, so be wise and know that sometimes success is closer to home than you think.

Note: This isn’t to hate on Lagos o! The city works for some people… but not for most. Be wise!
How did you travel sir? I also want to travel abroad sir. Please help me sir

OP you child go to Lagos, don't mind naysayers. It's the land of most opportunities as long as you're teachable. Put your body and soul into learning and start earning afterwards. I know am Igbo guy, Ugo, that came from the east. Baba learn sales of Keke spare parts, he's damn rich now, build wealth from it, taught his brothers his trade and they're comfortable too, just that he won't teach Yorubas around his line of trade. But that's okay, at least, he's not calling us names.

So, in a nutshell, come to Lagos, don't be lazy, don't hate us Yoruba or call us names, the land shall favor all of us.
What can I learn in Lagos?

That Orile is the main Orile, not the Orile Agege.
Orile Agege is at Agege,a different area entirely and full of yorubas. Main Orile is mostly somehow more of Igbos.
Remember this,in whatever you do,do not forget your education

Do not let them deceive you. The person who advertised that job offer will take it himself or give it to his family member if it is genuine.

And again, what's the status of your uncle,is he married, have children? What does he do? Have you informed him of your coming?
Be careful inorder not to find yourself in the streets. It happened to some of us years ago,it was tough but God was merciful.
If you can get a place to stay first off,you can survive by doing some odd jobs here and there while finding some footing.
So the job is not real?

It's lush hair weavon company

My uncle have retired. No much company around him.. his children are married/schooling.. wife is abroad

Learn a skill or trading. Your SSCE cert cannot do much for you in Lagos and the 100k job is most likely fake. Feel free to post only the address here and we would confirm.

You are just 25.
Learn a skill. By 30 you would be better placed. Don't wait until then to start whining. ✌️
I want to learn barbing in Lagos. Or will you suggest any skill that will make me a millionaire after learning it? I want to travel abroad so I want to start saving after learning the skill. I feel like I have failed in life. Please point me to the right direction ma

Staying back here have stunted my financial growth. I want to relocate to a better place than here.

Whatever I want to do (learn skill or work) I want to do it in Lagos. They said opportunities abound in Lagos and I believe it because most of my childhood friends are already there.

Let your uncle put you in his line of business, if it is a legit business.
Coming to Lagos to just hustle for factory job is not easy. The factory job may be located in a place far from where you are living
Transportation is a major expenses for most Lagosian. Also, be sure that the job is legit. Lots of scammers are on the prowl, looking for "magas" to chop. Non existing jobs are written on walls, on roads and pasted in market places, with the amount to be paid stated, asking one to call a certain number for the job - just beware. Lagos could be unforgiven to the newbies and uninformed
Let your uncle support you and guide you through. This is a culture among the Igbos that is being fast eroded. Uncles are no more behaving like uncle to their nephews and nieces. It was not like that before. Uncles were looked up to, especially the well -to-do and highly educated. The well-to-do uncle would take his brother's children and trained them in his trade and settle them, thus, sustaining the progress of the entire "umunna" kindred. Those in paid employment would help their nephews and nieces that have finished services, relocated to Lagos, with employment tips and vacancies. It is no more like that these days. Uncles sees their nephews as threat, especially, if their own children are not doing well. Everything now is competition in my place. The family bond and unity that once held sway, have been broken by the "enemy" and the entire kindred has disintegrated. angry
My uncle has retired. He doesn't work again. But he will allow me come stay with him.

Few years down the line, this one will be following to drag Lagos.

Many Igbos would have been useless in life if not for the fact that they came to Lagos. DispatcherLagos entered Lagos with only 15k in his pocket. Today, he's busy insulting Yorubas.

You dey fight for Biafra but you dey beg to enter Lagos.
I have never insulted Yorubas sir. I used to have Yoruba friends that helped me a lot sir
