Is barbing a profitable skill?

Can I be able to save 5k to 10k from it every day after expenses?

Most people won't trust someone that just finished doing apprentice to repair their car.. that's how it is in Nigeria sir

To be a successful mechanic in Nigeria, you need connections.. ask anybody sir

Barbing is a nice skill. I want to start salary work so that I can save money by June. From June to December, I'll be perfect in it.

Then, january I'll travel to Lagos, if Lagos do somehow, I'll leave for Ghana. smiley

Some mechanic will charge you up to N5k just to service your car.Just to change Tyre these days can easily cost you N1k
Let me go to auti section and check.

1k to change tire? It's poor o

I don't believe this post. No job pays 650k a month in Nigeria. Highest is 200k or 250k.

You are not ready, typical of the Nigerian youth, what's wrong in waiting for 6 years to learn a trade?
you are aiming to be a hair barber when others are aiming to be more and you think barbing hair is going to bring you much needed income right/The average mechanic, makes at least N20k daily with almost no overhead
There is no such word as learning Parts.YOu are talking about serving a master who sells parts that even takes far l onger.Go and learn Mechanic you think say nah dirty Job,no worry your pocket will be your best adviser, good luck,
No mechanic makes that much without connections

You are better off, train to be a mechanic, a Builder, ie Brick layer, an Electrician, or installer of Solar power, thank me later.
My friend that's still learning mechanic advised me against learning it because it will take 5 to 6 years to learn it well and it requires much strength.. he suggested learning car parts instead.

Solar installation is a good idea IMO. But I don't see it as something that one can excel in without connections.. I heard most works are based on recommendations/connection

I really want to learn barbing because..

1. It's easy to learn and doesn't require lots of strength.

2. I'll have my own shop and become a boss of my own.

3. Nothing beats a business that generates daily income.

4. If I have my own shop, it will help me in saving for my relocation plans.

5. Barbing is a skill that is profitable and in high demand.

I'm very convinced I won't go hungry if I learn it well sir

The weather in UK is too cold and there is nowhere like home.

Meanwhile, not everyone returns to Nigeria, there are hundreds of thousands of Nigerians who will never come back. Don’t let village pipu convince or confuse you from travelling abroad for greener pastures, please try it; it’s better to try and fail than not to try at all
And that is why I want to try it now..

My first option now is to learn barbing then travel to Lagos . But if e no work..

My second option is to travel to Ghana and sort myself out there

By God's grace, one of the two must happen this year, amen.

Exactly.
Always been an introvert.
Even while in Nigeria,I had no friends.
Associated with very few family members and mostly via phone.
I once stayed for 4 years without setting eyes on my biological mother and siblings.Nobody died.

Now abroad,I mind my business.
Go to work, return home to study and relax with my children, sleep.
I don't have friends.
I do not visit anyone and nobody visits me.
I don't attend any church or social gatherings.

I am enjoying being overseas.
I miss nothing about Nigeria.
Exactly the kind of life I want to live. The day I'll leave Nigeria, I promise I'll never miss anything about the country

RomanceRe: Barbing Or Welding? by Goodadvice01(op): 9:14pm On Apr 11, 2025
Nijimog:
I will suggest welding, because it looks more realistic than barbing

Most people can barb their hairs by themselves without going to any barbing shop, Due to reasons of rechargeable clippers being in circulation in the market, high cost of fuel leading to high cost/billing in the barbing shop

Welding is more of a handskill than barbing
Honestly, I'd have agreed with you if I didn't go to ShopRite today sir.. come and see people barbing hair without pricing sir. The shop has over 30 employees. Male and female barber inclusive

I agree welding is more lucrative on the long run but there's good money in barbing sir if you really know your onions..

You will master it. You just have to be observant and co-operate with your boss. He will teach you all you need to know. Note: Co-operation with your boss and passion for the barbing is the key.
Thanks. I made inquiry on how to learn it today.

The key to learning and earning from a vocational skill 1. To do something you have a natural aptitude for and 2. That is not too common.

HVAC is good if you can learn it. You will be always be in demand..to install new units and to repair damaged ones.

And if you can find your way out of Nigeria with that skill you will be swimming in money.
Good evening sir. I went and made inquiry to learn the barbing in ShopRite today. The manager gave me the requirements.

Should I drop his contact for you sir?
