You are welcome. I have sent you an email.

Wiconse, there are financially successful pharmacists and financially successful software programmers. There are also unsuccessful ones. So if you are trying to choose the more 'lucrative' path for you as an individual, you may need to reconsider your question. Mr A who is poor with numbers is likely to fail at an Accounting career, meanwhile Mrs B who is great with numbers is likely to make a successful Accountant. Both studied the same course but got different outcomes. What determines success is finding something that YOU are good at, and that YOU enjoy.

Pharmacy and Software Programming are worlds apart.

So, my question to you is this: which appeals to you more? Pharmacy or Software Programming? And why?

As someone rightly said above, technology is the future, and so is sofware programming. If you have the aptitude for and an interest in software programing, the sky is your starting point, because all the great tech companies (and non-tech ones too), are constantly seeking great programmers - think Amazon, Facebook, Nairaland, Jumia, Fiverr, Microsoft, Andela, Uber, to name but a few. Pharmacy is also a great option, but for someone thinking globally, software programming has far more potential in terms of employment opportunities and earning power. BUT DON'T FORGET - never choose a career based on where the money is, because money comes when you find smething that YOU are good at, and that you love.

You are welcome to send me a PM - I'm available to have a short career counselling session later this week.
CareerAre You Going Through Life, Asleep? by GoodChoices(op): 9:50pm On Jun 04, 2018
There are two categories of people in life – those who go through life awake, and those who go through life asleep. Sadly, the majority go through life asleep, moving through life as though in a trance - only to wake up - often by the end of their lives - to the reality that they never really lived - just existed.

Society conditions us to live our lives a certain way. So, we follow society's timetable blindly, never challenging the 'rules' or asking 'why?'. The average person spends 16 – 18 years going through school, then proceeds to commit the next 4 or so decades of their lives working for another man – toiling away.

Many are in jobs they hate, relationships that drain them or daily routines that add very little value to their lives. They feel stuck because their minds are conditioned to believe that there is no way out. Waking up is hard, and that's why most 'settle' for the safe but directionless life. Yet, we admire those around us who have woken up and made something of their lives, but we do little for ourselves.

If you ever feel that you are not in control of your life, that your life lacks direction or purpose, then chances are that you are living life asleep, and I hope you wake up today and become an active participant in your life, not just a spectator.

Living a full and fulfilled life requires living deliberately - understanding who we are and where we are going and crafting out the life that we desire.

Here is how to wake up and truly experience life, and become more than a mere spectator in your own life:

1. Question your present state. Get out a pen and a piece of paper and conduct an audit of your life every few months - your career, relationships, spiritual growth, finances, health. Be honest with yourself. How do you rate yourself in each of these areas? What is not working, and what needs to change for it to work?

2. Stop reacting to life. Succesful people refuse to be victims. Yes, life happens to people – life has it’s challenges and setbacks – but it also has its privileges and opportunities. Rather than wallow in self-pity, blaming people or society for things that haven’t worked out for you, realise that people with wrse circumstances have become successful and if they can, you can, too.

3. Invest in your mind. Your mind is your life. The way to develop your mind is to learn from other great minds. There are over 130 million books in the world. How many have you read? Research has shown that the world’s most successful people have cultivated a reading habit. In spite of their busy routines, they find time to read on a daily or weekly basis. If you do not currently read, you do yourself a great disservice. Pick up a book today, and read at least once a month. A great starting point is “As a Man Thinketh”, by James Allen. There are downloadable copies on the internet and free audio versions on Youtube or Amazon. Read similar books. Read a varierty of books. A year from now, you will be a different person.

4. Start setting goals. The most successful people in life set daily, weekly, monthly or yearly goals. Without a goal, it’s quite easy to feel directionless. When you set yourself goals, your life begins to move forward and you develop a sense of self-belief as you achieve each one. It’s important to have a daily goal, no matter how small, but it’s also very important for you to have a bigger goal – a vision.

5. Create some ‘me’ time in your life, that no one else has access to. This could be for 5, 10, 30 minutes or even an hour a week. Set aside an amount of time every week when all you do is sit in a quiet space and reflect on life, on where you are, where you want to go and steps you will take to get there. You may also choose to spend this time meditating – clearing your mind of all thoughts and just appreciating God and the gifts of life. Powerful things happen when we keep our minds clear, and allow ourselves to simply ‘be’.

As the saying goes, it is never too late to become the person you’ve always wanted to be.

Don’t put your life on hold any longer, wake up now.

(p.s. if you feel stuck in a rut and you feel that you could do with the help of a coach to take the first step out of it, I'd be glad to help. I am offering a 30-minute personal coaching session to 2 readers, free (I would love to offer more, but that's about as much time as I can offer right now!). PM me and I will select 2 people randomly at the end of the week).

All the best!
