Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Manchester United following their disappointing start to the season. The Red Devils currently sit sixth in the Premier League table but have already lost five times in 17 matches, leaving them 19 points behind leaders Liverpool and 11 off fourth-placed Chelsea in the fight for Champions League places. That follows a summer transfer window in which Mourinho routinely complained at a lack of signings, with the Portuguese unable to persuade the club's hierarchy to sign a new centre-back. Mourinho has continued to drop hints that he remains unhappy at that failure to spend big, and he now leaves after two-and-a-half years in charge at Old Trafford, with his final match in charge Sunday's 3-1 defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool. "Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect," a statement read. "The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future. "A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager." Mourinho replaced Louis van Gaal in the United hotseat in the summer of 2016 and was tasked with leading the 20-time English champions back to the top of the domestic game after a barren three years since Sir Alex Ferguson's appointment. He started well, winning the Community Shield in his first match in charge before claiming the Carabao Cup thanks to a Zlatan Ibrahimovic-inspired 3-2 win over Southampton. Form in the league was not as strong, however, with the Red Devils only able to finish in sixth place, though their season did end on a high as a 2-0 win over Ajax in the final of the Europa League saw them qualify for the 2017-18 Champions League. Mourinho's second season in charge saw United finish a distant second in the Premier League to Pep Guardiola's record-breaking Manchester City, and while they crashed out of the Champions League to Sevilla in the last 16 and lost the FA Cup final to Chelsea, there was hope the former Real Madrid boss would be able to kick on again having signed a new improved contract in the early weeks of 2018. That has not come to pass, however, with United currently on a run of just two wins from eight matches in all competitions. Further to performances on the pitch, reports of dressing room unrest have overshadowed Man Utd's performances over the course of the season, with Mourinho's relationship with club-record signing Paul Pogba a constant talking point. World Cup winner Pogba has struggled for consistency under Mourinho, and this season things seem to have taken a turn for the worse, with the former Juventus man unable to hold down a regular berth in Mourinho's prefered 11. The nadir came at Anfield on Sunday, with Mourinho deciding against bringing Pogba off the bench despite his side needing to find a goal to get back into the game following Xherdan Shaqiri's own match-winning performance off the bench for Jurgen Klopp's side. Whomever takes temporary charge until the end of the season will now be tasked with pushing United back into the race to finish in the top four while also plotting a path towards silverware in both the Champions League - where they play Paris Saint-Germain int he last 16 - and the FA Cup, with Reading their third round opponents. Conflicting reports suggest assistant coach Michael Carrick is in the frame to take on that role, with the interim manager's first game on Saturday away at Cardiff City. Zinedine Zidane and Mauricio Pochettino, meanwhile, are among the favourites to take the role full-time come the summer. http://m.goal.com/x/en/news/8/main/2018/12/18/50226352/man-utd-sack-mourinho-after-poor-start-to-the-season |
A Twitter user identified as @seehausaboy on the platform has narrated how a heart-breaking scene unfolded at a wedding a colleague of his attended in Lagos. The bride and groom's mother fought each other on the wedding day. According to the narrator, the fight erupted over food. Read his post below: "I asked a colleague how her weekend went and she said she went for a wedding in Lagos and something dramatic happened Guys! I can't laugh alone Issa Thread My colleague is a friend to the groom and as such, had to represent. They worked back in day as bankers in one of the top generation Banks. There was lotsa food and drinks, DJ was on point, everything was going on smoothly. But then again, both the groom and the bride cooked separately to ensure the meal gets to all the people they invited (which i think is the norm these days with Yoruba weddings) but unfortunately, the food on the groom side had finished in no time Then walked in a very important guest from the groom's family, a very close relation of the mother in law of the bride. He apparently showed up late and she needed to have them served. they were just too important not to be entertained The mother in law approached the bride to speak to her caterer to have them serve her guests who had just arrived. to her surprise, she declined and said the food remaining was for some guests at home. The mother in law ignored her and went to dish out some food from the cooler and ordered it to be taken to the guest who were already seated and waiting. The caterer couldn't stop her because after all, she was the mother of the groom! Next thing, the bride came down from the car and ordered that the food be returned. the guys carrying the food were confused. the bride actually went by herself, collected the tray and poured the food back into the cooler The Mother in law felt to embarrassed and disrespected that she slapped the bride. The bride returned the slap! the heavens let loose. There was chaos everywhere. The groom and the groomsmen were so disappointed. he said he wasn't interested in the solemnization of the union anymore. He left along with his family members. The bride too left as well In the end, my colleague kukuma packed her 'Kaya' and left. leaving a huge number guest murmuring and stuff at what had transpired" Source: https://www.tori.ng/news/105344/bride-and-grooms-mother-fight-dirty-over-food-on-w.html |
this school is shit....they keep bringing out recruitment notice but will never recruit. I can only wonder what they do with the thousands of paper application they receive month in month out. watch out, they will still bring out another recruitment notice before the end of this year. this current notice is their second this year if not their third. send applications at your own peril....but don't say I didn't warn you |

Civil society groups and notable Non Governmental Organisation (NGOs) in Edo, Ondo, Delta, and Ekiti State respectively, have resolved to launch a mass protest at Abuja, against the renewal of the operational license of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC, by the Federal government over what the groups described as total failure of the company in its coverage areas of Edo, Delta, Ondo and Bayelsa States. BEDC operation license alongside other discos in Nigeria will expire in the month of September, 2018. Starnews gathered that BEDC is among the top disco companies who may have serious challenges in the renewal of their operating license due to so many arrangements by different groups who have perfected arrangement to publicly protest against the renewal of BEDC operating license, apart from several petitions against the company by various communities under their coverage. In a statement signed by Comrade Osazee Edigin, Public Relations Officer, Edo Civil Society Organisations, the group revealed the many sins of BEDC which include but not limited to: disrespect for court orders, harassment of customers with police, use of military personnel attached to top flight staff of the company to harass customers on protest by communities when they get disconnected without due process and for debt recovery. Refusal to supply prepaid meters thereby continuing with estimated billing to defraud customers, plunging of whole communities into darkness so as to compel the people to pay whatever amount they deem fit to impose on them without justification or verifiable evidence, highhandedness, indiscriminate power supply at the discretion of the company to suit the whims of special customers, and many other complaints listed by the groups. In a similar development, the latest arrangement organised by Edo Civil Society Organisations has been endorsed by the Bring Back Our Light Group (BBOL) in Ondo South, a group in the forefront to restore electricity to four affected councils in Ondo State. The BBOL convener, pastor Olumide Akinrinlola revealed that the team has also reached out to the Council of Concerned Youth of Nigeria (COCYON) , Ekiti State chapter, to join in the struggle to protest against the renewal of BEDC license. This claim was authenticated by our correspondent who spoke with the state Coordinator of Ekiti State chapter of COCYON on phone, Hon. Dairo Dennis, who confirmed that the people of Ekiti State are not only in support of the call but has also perfected arrangements to mobilise themselves to Abuja for the mass action tagged: “operation thunderstorm” against BEDC. The BBOL also listed the sins of BEDC as including: Illegal disconnection, flagrant disobedience to constituted authority, (failure to restore some local governments in Ondo South despite NERC official instruction that BEDC should reconnect them), electricity bills padding and exorbitant estimated bills. It was also gathered that some communities in Ekiti and Delta states were illegally put into darkness by BEDC without prior notices as required by the law. http://www.starnews.com.ng/edo-ondo-delta-ekiti-mobilise-mega-protest-against-renewal-of-bedc-license/ |

Arsenal have confirmed the appointment of Unai Emery as the club's new manager. The Spaniard - who left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season despite winning a domestic treble - has signed a two-year deal at the Emirates Stadium. He becomes just the Gunners' second manager since 1996 after Arsene Wenger's 22-year reign was brought to an end in the wake of Arsenal's sixth-placed finish in the Premier League. Emery's appointment comes following talks with the Arsenal hierarchy on Monday, with the north London outfit hopeful he can lead them back to the top of the English game following a series of underwhelming campaigns. The Spaniard, who previously worked at Sevilla, where he won three consecutive Europa League titles, and Valencia, carved out a reputation for fluid, attacking football with the Spanish sides. Emery will be tasked with leading the Gunners back into contention at the top of the Premier League table, with Wenger's side having dropped out of the top four in the last two seasons after 19 straight years of Champions League football. |

shame on Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu, over 3 million naira has been raised within 48hrs |
Jazzlite:she really did offend a lot of people today especially with her harsh utterance |
With utmost regret and pain in the heart, the wife of the Ondo State Governor Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu utterly discouraged students and individuals that were campaigning for funds to raise #4million for the #SaveWole heart surgery. Mrs Betty while speaking at the inauguration of the Female Staff Association of Adeyemi College of Education vividly told the campaigners that 4million naira is not easy to raise in an education community like Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo and subsequently did not donate a dime. we are pleased to inform the first lady that we have raised 2million naira in 24 hours and we will meet the 4million naira target.
