Who are the Igbos you are referring to?
In what way did the chairman deprive indigenes of their entitlement?
Are your Yoruba brothers and sisters angry with him cos of entitlement or simply because he congratulated an Igbo boy for passing jamb? Be picking on typo. Lol Yes. He gave out 250 jamb forms and gave some of those forms to an igbo who is non indigene.. That is how stupid wokism. Whereas in other places across Nigeria, They prioritize theirs first. Goodvibes007: Imagine Nnewi, Awka, Umuahia, local government chairman using their resources to sponsor Yoruba children and celebrating it while their Ibo kids are roaming the street.
We were here Akwa Ibom governor said all companies in Akwa Ibom must employ compulsorily their citizens first
Anambra governor issues a notice saying all Anambra civil service jobs are for Anambra people only
They are all prioritising their citizen meanwhile Yoruba leaders are dashing their scarce resources to the same people

I am happy that the Yorubas have woken up to what Nigeria really is.
Peter Obi's 2023 election loss was a blessing! Anyway, you can continue wailing. You are within your rights to do so. Bye!

Politics › Awolowo’s Grand-daughter Resigns As Labour Party Executive Committee Member by Goodvibes007(op): 10:27am On May 09, 2025*. Modified: 2:36pm On May 09, 2025 |
Pastor Funke Awolowo, late Obafemi Awolowo’s grand-daughter, has resigned her membership of the Labour Party Executive Committee in Lagos State.
Until her resignation, Awolowo was the party’s Head of Mobilisation and Integration Team in Lagos.
In a statement shared with Vanguard, the grandchild of the late sage said recent developments within the party made it increasingly difficult for her to continue her membership of the committee.
In the statement she signed and addressed to Dayo Ekong, Lagos State Chairman of the party, Awolowo said the integrity of the committee is being compromised, adding that the situation has damaged her reputation.
The statement read, “I am writing to formally resign my position as a member of the Lagos State Executive Committee, effective immediately.
“This decision comes after deep reflection and considerable personal introspection. Recent developments have made it increasingly difficult for me to continue in this role in good conscience.
“I have observed with growing concern that the integrity of the committee is being compromised and, regrettably, is being leveraged for purposes that conflict with the values and principles I hold dear.
“More troubling is the damage this has done to my personal reputation, as my name has been unfairly associated with actions and motives that I neither support nor condone.
“For years, I have served with sincerity and dedication, committed to the vision of impactful governance.
“However, when the purpose of service is blurred by personal interests and the space for integrity begins to shrink, it becomes necessary to step aside.”
Despite stepping away from her role, Awolowo maintained that her commitment to public service and the political process remains steadfast.
She said, “I believe in the promise of a better Nigeria and will continue to work toward that end in whatever capacity I am able. I remain grateful for the opportunity to have served and extend my thanks to all who made the experience worthwhile.”
Her resignation from her role in the Labour Party came four months after she appealed to all lovers of New Nigeria, Obidients, Afenifere, and Support Groups, to come together as a united force.

Peter Obi was suggesting that the Edo election was rigged, whereas his party, the LP, was not even in the contest. The battle was between APC and PDP.
What a foolish statement to make at the memorial of an elder statesman. The agulu fraud basically turned the memorial event into a campaign ground.
Peter obi is becoming more unhinged as 2027 draws near. He may soon turn out to be worst than the mad man he takes his advise from.

Crime › INTERPOL Finds 150 Stolen Vehicles From Canada In Nigeria, Ghana, Others by Goodvibes007(op): 9:16pm On May 01, 2025 |
An INTERPOL-led police operation in West Africa has uncovered approximately 150 stolen vehicles, most of them from Canada, as part of a sweeping two-week crackdown on cross-border vehicle trafficking and organised crime.
The operation, codenamed Safe Wheels, took place from March 17 to 30, 2025 and involved national law enforcement agencies across 12 West African countries, including Ghana and Nigeria. More than 12,600 vehicles were inspected during the operation, resulting in the seizure of over 75 vehicles and the launch of 18 new investigations into vehicle crime and its links to organised criminal networks.
According to INTERPOL, the majority of stolen vehicles were traced to Canada, while others were identified as having been stolen in France, Germany and the Netherlands. Toyota, Peugeot and Honda were the most commonly recovered makes.
“Each year, hundreds of thousands of vehicles are stolen around the world, yet the initial theft is often only the beginning of a vehicle’s journey into the global criminal underworld,” said David Caunter, INTERPOL’s Director of Organized and Emerging Crime.
“Stolen vehicles are trafficked across the globe, traded for drugs and other illicit commodities, enriching organized crime groups and even terrorists. INTERPOL’s SMV (Stolen Motor Vehicle) database is the strongest tool we have to track stolen vehicles and identify the criminals involved in this global trade,” he added.
The SMV database, which INTERPOL provides to its 196 member states, allowed officers in the region to check suspicious vehicles and immediately confirm their status. In 2024 alone, the database helped identify around 270,000 stolen vehicles globally.
In Nigeria, the operation uncovered six high-end vehicles—four of which bore signs of forced entry—hidden in freight containers arriving in Lagos from Canada. The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) confirmed that all six vehicles, including Toyota and Lexus models, had been reported stolen in Canada in 2024. Investigations are ongoing in collaboration with Canada’s INTERPOL National Central Bureau.
In support of Safe Wheels, INTERPOL deployed nine officers and experts from its SMV Task Force, including a specialist from Canada, to assist local law enforcement in Benin, Cabo Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria, and Togo. The operation was carried out under Project Drive Out, a new partnership between INTERPOL and the Government of Canada aimed at curbing vehicle theft and the illegal trade in auto parts. Funding for the project was provided by Canada.
The participating INTERPOL member countries included Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, and Togo. Daily, law enforcement teams in these countries established an average of 46 checkpoints to inspect vehicles and track trafficked units.
Officials say the successful coordination of Safe Wheels highlights the growing threat of transnational vehicle crime in West Africa, often linked to broader networks of smuggling and illicit trade. The operation marks a significant step in regional efforts to clamp down on organised vehicle theft and bolster international policing cooperation. https://www.graphic.com.gh/international/international-news/west-africa-interpol-finds-150-stolen-vehicles-from-canada-in-nigeria-ghana-others-in-2-weeks.html

Politics › Ohanaeze Council Slams Oba Of Benin Over Suspension Of Six Igbanke Monarchs by Goodvibes007(op): 7:01pm On May 01, 2025 |
The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) has strongly condemned the recent suspension of six traditional rulers in Igbanke clan in Edo State by the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, describing the move as an “unwarranted interference” in the affairs of an indigenous Igbo community.
In a statement signed by its Secretary General, Ifeanyichukwu Nweke, and National Publicity Secretary, Ukpabi Michael Authority, the OYC accused Oba Ewuare II and the Benin Traditional Council (BTC) of attempting to impose a Benin identity on the Igbanke people of the State, despite their longstanding Igbo heritage.
According to the group, the Oba in suspension letter, dated April 30, 2025, and co-signed by several prominent Benin chiefs, suspended six traditional rulers of Igbanke Clan following the community’s reaffirmation of its Igbo identity.
The Okiko Uwa Sociocultural Group had on April 23 declared that Igbanke is an “original Igbo tribe” with no ancestral ties to Benin, a position the OYC says reflects historical reality.
“It is astonishing that Oba Ewuare II, disregarding historical context, would move against the traditional rulers of Igbanke simply for asserting their true heritage,” the statement read.
“We categorically condemn this provocative action and advise the Oba to desist from interfering in the cultural and traditional affairs of the Igbanke people.”
The OYC, under the leadership of its National President General, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, announced that it is expanding its unification efforts beyond the Southeast to include Igbo communities in the South-South and North Central regions, notably Kogi and Benue states.
The council pointed to the recent election of Comrade Azuka Oka Etumudon, an Igbanke indigene, as National Organizing Secretary of the OYC during its February 8 national convention in Owerri, Imo State, as a “historic landmark” for Igbo unity.
“For the first time, an Igbanke son has been elected into the leadership of Ohanaeze, affirming their rightful place within the Igbo family,” the council noted.
OYC leaders further urged the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, led by President General Senator Azuta John Mbata, to amend its constitution to formally include Igbo communities in Edo, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Kogi, and Benue states.
Highlighting linguistic, cultural, and geographical factors, the council asserted that Igbanke shares no cultural affinity with Benin communities.
“Igbanke people speak the Ika dialect, surrounded by other Ika-speaking communities, while Benin people neither speak nor understand Ika,” the OYC stated, citing traditional titles such as Eze, Obi, Ogele, Okpara-Uku, Ndi-Ichie, and Ndi-Nze as evidence of the community’s Igbo heritage.
The OYC called on Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, to intervene and “warn the Oba of Benin against attempts to distort the historical origins of Igbanke through lies and conspiracy.”
The council reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the cultural integrity of all Igbo communities, vowing to resist any external attempts at assimilation or historical revisionism.
“The Igbanke people know who they are,” the statement stressed. “No amount of political or traditional intimidation will erase their identity.” https://saharareporters.com/2025/05/01/ohanaeze-council-slams-oba-benin-over-suspension-six-igbanke-monarchs-plot-annex-igbo
