Warm greetings to everyone! It's been a while here, I'm happy seeing the success stories for this year so far. Those awaiting their decisions will get positive ones, God willing.

Just as an insight, I went to the police station to apply for (data capturing) my RP renewal on 29th July, and the affirmative decision was made on 3rd August. I still used my naija Account and the balanace was c. N2 million. Hence I presume that they are still using the old exchange rate, but to be on the safe side it might be better to have around N1.7-1.8m as your closing balance if you are yet to apply.

Thanks man. Wifi for Istanbul airport no be free o, you gatz pay for it. I was there for about 12 hours without internet. On board Turkish, you go get access to movies, games, musics, etc. No wifi for inside plane o, you wan cause katakata, in fact all your electronic devices are to be put off during flight.

Met a Fin lady onboard flight from Istanbul to Helsinki, she is a medicine student at university of Helsinki... she makes sense sha, but I don't think I may have time for those... at least friendship no bad sha...

Live and direct from Helsinki airport... Free WIFI things on point. Left Lagos yesternight, 24hrs+ I'm here. I'll be enroute Tampere 6:20 tomorrow. Thank Alpha and Omega, Jehova!!!

Yet to receive my RP card o and passport from the embassy o... I think this people are looking for trouble bah . I called them yesterday and they were like it takes about two weeks after embassy sends mail before the RP card arrives Nigeria. My flight is next week... by Monday, them go hear wen!

If at the payment stage of online booking you select the option of paying cash at a bank, they will give you a list of banks where you can pay within 24 hrs... Though you may pay after 24hrs actually, provided the flight is not fully booked or fee gone up.

You can book your flight online through wakanow and opt to pay at a bank within 24 hr. I finally booked and paid for my flight today. I paid through bank transfer in the banking hall after completing the online booking process. My e-ticket don land.

^Guess They're referring to either the customer number or Diary number issued to applicants after interviews- those two numbers are on the piece of paper given after the interview.
Just put both on your letter.

If someone from the said school you're not interested in sent you the bolded, then I think all you have to do is to write them that you are no longer coming to their school... shikena!
A binding offer is one that you have to 'obey'; that is, after you accept such offer you won't be able to attend another institution in Finland during the same admission year even when you don't want the school again... Accepting an offer may be through any means (hard or soft) so far you already accepted....

A school like Aalto enforces the acceptance of their offer... so once you accept them you wont be able to attend another school. However, I read on migri somewhere that once you are issued a RP, you may attend another school different from the one whose admission letter you used in securing the RP. You must however show proof of studying at least 40 ECTS before your renewal... Hence, you need to find out from the first school you accepted offer from, if their offer is not binding!

Just got this from Abuja Embassy:

Dear Surname, Firstname Othername,
This is to inform that your residence permit has been granted. You should send your passport with a cover letter through DHL, UPS, FedEx or any other courier to the Embassy using the address below. The cover letter should indicate your email address, telephone number, PU-... number (residence permit reference number given during interview) and return delivery address.

Note that the Immigration authority is now issuing Residence Permit cards. The Embassy is expecting your card at the moment from Finland. It takes approximately two weeks for your residence permit card to arrive.

That is what I'm trying to say, that it's not entirely wrong, so far it's the sponsor that borrows and not the student. In my case I worked and saved for some years hoping to go and study in the UK before I discovered Finland, so I'm just asking anyways...

Is the bolded really illegal for those who did it? What if the sponsor obtained a loan for his/her ward and plans to repay from monthly salary? Just asking...
