Landlords from the Temidire, Alagbado area of Lagos State stormed the premises of the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, en masse to register a weird complaint that caused a pin-drop silence at the police station.

The landlords who were about 25 in number complained about a suspected homosexual rapist and thug living in the area. They were reportedly led by the Baale, Alhaji Najimu Abioye, who submitted a petition to the Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, saying that the residents’ lives were in danger as the suspect continually harassed them with thugs.

The Bayelsa state government paid close to one hundred million naira to an Italian firm, Hacking Team, to hack computers and phones in Nigeria, new information emerging from the firm’s leaked internal data has shown.

Hacking Team, notorious for equipping governments with tools to hack citizens’ computers and phones, was itself hacked Sunday night and 415 gigabyte of internal data leaked to the public.

Researchers have been pouring through the leaked documents since it was first leaked Sunday night, throwing up many shocking details of the firm’s secret dealings with Bayelsa state and other repressive governments, including Sudan, Russia, and Bahrain.

A pastor, a woman and her 2 children were killed after a male suicide bomber attacked a Redeemed Christian Church of God parish in the Jigawa area of Potiskum, Yobe state this morning June 5th. Eyewitnesses say the suicide bomber forced his way into the church at about 10am while the church service was ongoing.

There were fresh facts on Tuesday indicating that the national caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress scheduled for Monday was cancelled because of the suspicion within the party.

APC leadership called off the meeting because of reported anger of some leaders of the ruling party in the north at insinuations by Chief Bisi Akande that they were behind the crisis in the party.

Akande, a former interim national chairman of the APC, had in a letter made public on Monday alleged, among other things, that, “Most Northern elite, the Nigerian oil subsidy barons and other business cartels, who never liked (President Muhammadu) Buhari’s anti-corruption political stance, are quickly backing up the rebellion against APC with strong support.”

A member of the party’s caucus from the North-East geopolitical zone, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter, said it would have been a rancorous session if the caucus meeting had held in what he described as “such an atmosphere of mutual suspicion.”

As a parent, this video completely breaks you down. Watching this nanny violently assault this little girl, kick her like she was a ball, step on her like she was a carpet, slap her like they were of the same age was a painful, heartbreaking thing to do. I just did some digging about this video and here's what I found out, guys - this actually happened in Uganda. Little girl's name is Aneela and after her parents saw the video, Aneela's dad gave the nanny a very sound beating, almost to death. The police I learnt came for him but after he showed them the inhumane video, they took the maid away. She was sentenced to 3 years in prison for the abuse! But there are cries, outrage that 3 years is not enough punishment for this brutal assault. Some people, alongside one of Aneela's aunties, are asking that the maid be killed if possible.

Pakistani child rights activist, Malala Yousafzat, has finally met with President Goodluck Jonathan. And according to reports, one of the outcomes of her meeting with the President is that finally, he will be visiting the parents of the Chibok girls who are passing through horrifying experience following the abduction of their children over three months ago by the terrorist group, Boko Haram.

Malala, who has been in Nigeria to join her voice in the condemnation of the abduction of the Nigerian girls, as part of activities to mark her seventeen birthday, said she was hopeful that the girls would be released soon as promised by the President. Adding that President Jonathan had also promised that once the missing girls were rescued, they would be given scholarships to go to school in any part of Nigeria.
