With each passing day you find yourself at a loss as to how to understand Nigeria..

You cannot release allocation to a democratically elected Governor who is working with a budget passed by 4 lawmakers under the logic that "those 4 lawmakers only represent 12 percent of the state"

But you can release allocation to a man who is not even from the state , appointed by the President, without even one single lawmaker to make appropriation.


I need someone to help me understand this..

Surely the Nigeria Constitution never could have contemplated this absurdity.

Simple idea.
The president is in control of executive council of the federation.
All federal allocations to every states, local government areas, and federal parastatal are handled by the federal ministry of finance.
Ministry of finance is headed by the minister of finance.
Minister of finance is an appointy of the president

Supreme Court made an order for withholding of River state allocations due to the political brouhaha.
The political gladiators were the one being targeted by the supreme Court.
Not the people of River state.

Now that the gladiators are not in control of the state resources, it is very important to release the money to the administration appointed to run the state.

Good news.
Petroleum products are good for comparison and competition in a free range market.
Good thing that Dangote refinery is reducing prices.
Good thing the importers of Petroleum products are crying over anticipated loss on their business.

My advice is that The importers should not stop import.
Let them continue to import products from a different countries and producers to find a better price for products so as to compete with Dangote prices.
Or better options for the importers is to switch to local refineries business also.
I believe the Petroleum products importers are really good and rich enough to build refinery in Nigeria also.
The local refineries business is the next step to take for the Petroleum products dealers to help make the competition more effective and better.

The issue of INTOLERANCE is not feasible here.
Muslims, Christians and Traditional worshippers are tolerating themselves properly in the south west of Nigeria.
There has been a way of proffering solutions to all disputes from ages immemorial in Yoruba land.

The introduction of sharia arbitration system in Yoruba land is being frowned upon, because of certain traits of the system
It is very important to keep the peace and tranquility of the people as they were in the days of our forefathers and as they are now.

We have enough disputes resolution systems for our people to use in all situations where necessary.
Nearly all extended families in Yoruba land have practitioners of Islamic and Christianity and to some extent Traditional worshippers as members of the family.
And everyone is fine with one another.

The conflicts resolution systems that are available and have been in use for long time since the life of our departed fathers and mothers are still very much efficient and effective.

What we need from all the religion leaders now is how they can help people to make life more easier to live.
Not bringing up an issue of justice system that can lead to confusion and crisis in our society.

We are appealing to the federal government to remember IBADAN, OYO,OGBOMOSHO TO ILORIN EXPRESS ROAD.
This ROAD project has been on construction since 2006 and not complete till now.
This ROAD is a very great important road that links Lagos, south west to the north of the country.
The situation around this road is very terrible and Nigerians are really suffering on this road.
Minister of works, Engr. Chief David Umahi should please help the people to start the process of turning this road into a safe and easy route to travel on.

The imf and the world Bank are not comfortable with the policy

Oldest bank in Nigeria is first bank...

Oldest indegenous is wema.

Wema bank was the first commercial bank account I operated(my first ever was a micro finance bank)

It was my school account.

I hated the bank so much because of their archaic ways of transaction.

I later abandoned the account when other new generation banks started coming to the vicinity of my school. I still have some money abandoned in that account sef, although not much. (maybe one day I will walk in and request to close the account. Even though I can't remember the account number again. Maybe the money would have yielded a sizable interest . Very unlikely though)

I don't know if they changed or modernized their banking systems. As I can't remember using that bank ever since. But I just have the impression and bias they haven't.

Ironically, I have hardly had any transaction carried out with the bank since then.

And when I pass through any branch the thought that comes to my mind is "people still use this bank"?

I guess they do!

A very good bank.
They are enjoying the old reputation while evolving and matching very well with the latest version of banking technologies.
