wunmi590: Good day Nairalanders,
What is the light situation in your area, just as the heading suggests.
In my office 🏬 Lekki phase1, light has been very bad, since last month, despite the fact that we are on Band A, we have been solely relying on generator from morning till night.
In my house at around Obalende, infact that one os worst, sometimes, I stay in the office late, so that once I enter house, just take my bath and sleep straight..
The most painful part is that, my inlaw who is from Oyo state are complaing bitterly that light might not even come for 2-3 month and when it does, it won't last more than 4hours and its gone..
We have a minister who is from Oyo state and can't even manage just a ministry and want to govern a whole state.
The light is really giving me a concern, mostly this festive period that alot of expenses is there, you will still be thinking of powering generator with high rate of fuel to welcome visitors.. its terrible here in jos since last week. Band A |

"Any individual or entity that enables the listed groups as financiers, money handlers, harbourers, informants, ransom facilitators, and negotiators will also be classified as terrorists,” Tinubu said.
He added that “political protectors and intermediaries, transporters, arms suppliers, and safe-house owners will be declared as terrorists,” while warning that even influential figures would not be exempt.
“Politicians, traditional rulers, community leaders, and religious leaders who facilitate and encourage violent actions and terror within Nigeria and against our citizens are also terrorists,” the president said. |

Redoil: PRESS STATEMENT BY THE SUPREME COUNCIL FOR SHARI’AH IN NIGERIA (SCSN) ON ALLEGED DISCREPANCIES IN THE GAZETTED TAX REFORM BILLS
The Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria (SCSN) has followed with deep concern developments on the floor of the National Assembly yesterday, where Hon. Abdulsamad Dasuki, a duly elected member of the House of Representatives, raised an alarm over disturbing discrepancies between the tax reform bills passed by the National Assembly and the versions subsequently gazetted and presented to the Nigerian public.
The Council notes with utmost seriousness the allegation that additional clauses and other substantial material alterations appearing in the gazetted tax laws signed by the President were neither debated nor approved by the National Assembly. If established, this represents a grave and egregious constitutional infraction with far-reaching implications for democracy, governance, economic stability, and public trust.
Given the profound impact of tax legislation on the lives, livelihoods of ordinary citizens, businesses, and religious, social, and economic obligations of Nigerians, the Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria actively monitored and contributed immensely throughout the legislative process of considering these tax reform bills at the National Assembly. Our engagements were guided by the need to ensure fairness, equity, transparency, constitutional compliance, and protection of the public interest.
The Council is therefore shocked and deeply disturbed by allegations on the floor of the House of Representatives that what Nigerians collectively debated, scrutinised, and agreed upon through their elected representatives may have been altered at the executive level. Such action, if established ,tantamounts to tampering with the sovereign will of the Nigerian people and undermines the very foundation of constitutional governance.
Accordingly, we hereby call on all stakeholders, in particular, the leadership of the National Assembly - the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajuddeen Abbas, and the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio to rise to their constitutional responsibilities by ensuring that these claims are transparently examined and appropriate actions taken before the commencement of the Tax Laws, on the 1st of January, 2026. Nigerians deserve respect, transparency, and fidelity to due process. Members of the National Assembly must be allowed, without hindrance, to conduct a critical, open, and transparent comparison between the harmonised bills passed by both chambers and the versions that were eventually gazetted, in order to establish the nature, extent, and impact of any alterations.
The consequences of such alleged infractions are grave. They include erosion of public confidence in democratic institutions, weakening of the doctrine of separation of powers, exposure of the affected laws to constitutional challenges, economic uncertainty, and loss of investor confidence. Most critically, they set a dangerous precedent where laws become negotiable instruments rather than binding outcomes of democratic deliberation.
Tax laws, by their compulsory nature, demand the highest level of constitutional integrity and procedural fidelity. Nigerians cannot be expected to comply with fiscal obligations arising from laws whose authenticity and legislative origin are in doubt. The Council therefore urges that this matter be treated with urgency, sincerity, and transparency in order to preserve constitutional order, protect institutional credibility, and reaffirm the supremacy of the Nigerian Constitution.
Nigeria’s democracy must not be undermined by executive overreach or procedural shortcuts. The will of the people, as expressed through the National Assembly, must be respected and defended.
Signed:
Nafiu Baba-Ahmad, mni Secretary General Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria (SCSN) 27 Jumada II 1447 AH/ 17 December 2025

Jd1900: Meet Nurudeen Alowonle — the first General in this country’s history to downgrade himself into a presidential ADC.
Not even past military Heads of State stooped so low as to surround themselves with Generals as errand boys. Those men commanded brigades, divisions, and armies — they didn’t stand quietly behind politicians holding folders.
A rank meant for battlefield leadership, strategic command, and authority has been reduced to ceremonial shadow-standing. A General who should be commanding thousands now settles for playing bodyguard and photo-prop.
An unprecedented achievement, yes — but only in how thoroughly military stature can be diminished by personal ambition and poor judgment. Don't forget he's oba wiire wiire |

EponObi: Dem really means this guy oooo 😂
One person said "when the police want to really work, just don't be unfortunate to commit crime"
The same goes for the system. The system will work when it's determined to do so and deal with you. After God, na government. Take the case of this Malami guy and Farouk Ahmed.
In Farouk's case, I've never seen anything like it in my life, as far as Nigeria is concerned. Dangote tabled allegations, resignation followed in less than a week. Farouk is one of the top cabals controlling the oil industry FYI. Farouk wasn't even able to put up any fight.
Then this Malami case. The AGF office, state security, EFCC and the judiciary are locked out for him and determined to make him pay. This is not the same treatment they gave Yahyah Bello. Tinubu is out to get blood for the nonsense Malami and the cabals tried during last election. And Malami too na mumu - him just embezzle anyhow without sense. No wonder they ran from heaven to hell to stop Tinubu at the polls.
Only if the system works for everyone and everytime like this, Nigeria go better. The USA is what she is today because of their working system. For instance, if not for their system, Trump would have turned that nation into something else.
Unlike the Buhari's administration where some cabals were playing the president's head like Ludo, Tinubu is in charge and the main cabal of this administration. Nigeria criminals ain't smart, it's easy to burst them because of their greed📌💯 |
