Dangote does not need our foreign reserve to expand his business. The Dangote IPO will open on Monday and I have already set aside a few millions to buy into it. If you wish, go and look for money and buy as well. FG is not going to invest any $9billion into Dangote refinery. If Tinubu wants to use a part of the money to finance the life changing Lagos-Calabar coastal road, so be it. When the project is done, it is same folks like you that will be the biggest users of the road

When Fashola was building the suspension bridge, it was folks from your region who campaigned vigorously against the project. I still remember how we fought off people like you back then on this forum. Today, all Ibo films are shot on the same suspension bridge and even your Agulu Jesus had to steal the picture of the bridge to use as the cover page of his watery manifestoes in 2023.

The Dangote Refinery at 650,000 bpd is undoubtedly huge and bigger than every other refinery in Nigeria combined(antiquated and working).
On another hand, we have $54B of reserve seating, almost idly, in the foreign exchange reserve accounts and know all too well, the zeal of present govt for wastefulness and superfluity.

Should a chunk of that reserve, lets say $9B be used to acquire shares in Dangote Refinery instead of pretending all is well?

As it stands, Dangote as an individual is more "governmental" than the government. He creates employment. He focuses on things that improve the economy far more than the FG and all 36 governors combined. Why decieve ourselves that the current balance of $54B+(and growing) won't be diverted to where Tinubu's heart truly lies, the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway of burden after 2027 abracadaba is perfected? Why pretend Tinubu is a reasonable person and will therefore not allow the flamboyance + superfluity that's digging deeper and deeper the pit of poverty and systemic imbalance go on?

For me, investing $9B or even as high as $14B from the reserves into Dangote Refinery is a far better choice than a coastal highway of even 24 lanes talk less of that 6 lane they are doing.

NDC will get 25% in Kebbi, Kaduna, Jigawa, and in the South, he will all SS and SE and 25% in Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Kogi, and Niger. Obi will win overall popular votes.
Tinubu can only win in SW states, scratch some votes in the North. Mark you, vote suppression is not going to work, except INEC switch off server again, which will trigger another ENDSARS-like protest in Nigeria.

When this coastal highway of fraud started, there were pertinent questions we asked? The EIA was asked for by an Arise TV presenter but the minister dismissed that question, yet everyday issues keep coming out.
Over 100 bridges is to be constructed in Bayelsa if this route goes through Bayelsa.
The funds used in this fraud could have been channeled to existing roads and put them in order. Now all over the Nation, the roads are in totall mess. We saw an example in Benin Agbor road.

This is the first coastal road ever build that is avoiding the coastal line.

Security agencies are actually doing a great job but it seems that they are not covering all the areas needed. Each time a bandit commander gets killed, it happens to be a commander who is into cattle rustling and kidnapping for ransom. What happens to bandits that invade villages in Plateau and Benue killing more than 20 people at once. We hardly see reports of those bandits getting killed rather we mostly read about how they successfully carried out attacks for 3 hours or more. I hope it's not a case where cattle matter more than people because bandits have invaded so many villages and those who survived claimed that there was hardly any military presence during such attacks. As we are making gains against bandit leaders that rustle cattle in Kastina and Zamfara, we should also make gains against bandits who are into land grabbing and sacking of indigenous people from their communities
