I remember in 2004 when I started doing strolling as my evening exercise. Every evening, I will just trek a long distance. Most times I just move from one street to another then return home. But being a very observant person, I don't just walk around without having a feel of the environment. What I observed in those days was that there were lots of restaurants, bars and joints on every nook and cranny of town. Most of those joints usually have a fairly bleached madam with big nyash who doesn't just cook food and pepper soup but also doubled as a hookup agent. What they do is to gather female teenagers in their restaurants and bar who pretend to be serving drinks and food only for pot bellied rich men to take them away to any destination of their choices at dark. The madams were not just pimps but also had their own clients too. I finally left the area for higher studies then returned in 2015. When I returned, I observed that 98% of those restaurants and bars were no more. Most of those spots were either replaced with a normal shop for selling items or even don't exist anymore. I was much younger then so I didn't make any meaning of that and couldn't fathom why the sudden change. What I learnt later was mind-boggling. Most of those madams were no more and the ones still alive couldn't leave their houses anymore. As of 2004, there were still a lot of misinformation about HIV and the few people who knew much about it's prevention and treatment were the educated ones. In summary, most of them died of AIDS

He is no average politician. I'll give him that. Indeed there has never been a politician like Tinubu in the history of Nigeria and I say this as someone who is not his supporter.

It is a most remarkable feat for a man to start a political party from the scratch, form alliances to put another man who has ran multiple times for president and failed, in office, then run for that same office himself and win.

He had a keen eye for political talent and through his influence has made several men governors. If Tinubu was younger, Nigeria would have enjoyed him. I have listened to his speeches when he was governor of Lagos and it could not be denied that he was quite cerebral and knowledgeable with a good command of the English language.

If Tinubu was the one who first entered office instead of Buhari, this country would have been better off. Unfortunately though, we have Tinubu in his later years and very much diminished. But as far as politics in Nigeria is concerned, there has never been anyone like him. He is a collosus.
