Student and teacher relationship is very vital to students academic performance and social developments at all levels of education, i mean from creche to post graduates studies. most students need help, someone who can pep talk talk them in order to improve their confidence level, that is an ideal teacher comes in. Definition of a teacher: A teacher is a person who helps others to acquire knowledge, competences or values. Informally the role of teacher may be taken on by anyone. Wikipedia I know you will agree with me teaching is one of those profession that is least appreciated in our society but thank goodness the tide is changing with the new generation schools. Definition of a relationship: An interpersonal relationship is a strong, deep, or close association or acquaintance between two or more people that may range in duration from brief to enduring. This association may be based on inference, love, solidarity, regular business interactions, or some other type of social commitment. Therefore, student and teacher relationship is a bond, acquaintance, solidarity and commitment that a teacher shows toward his/her students with the sole aim of improving the competences, academic and moral values of the students. What are the importance of teacher student relationship It improve students confidence: there is surge of confidence in you when you know your teacher has an interest you. have you ever wonder why children borne in the 21st century are pretty sharp and confident, the reason behind this is because most of these children attend these generation schools from age zero, and from there they build on. but if you compare this with the contemporary schools where teacher students relationship is non existent other than a teacher go to class, teach and get out of the class. It makes learning fun: Teacher student relationship makes learning fun and effortless, this does improve the academic performance of the student as learning becomes an habit and you will agree with me that when learning becomes an habit, the sky is just the starting point on how far the student can go. What is success? Success can be defined as an achievement of an action within a specified period of time or within a specified parameter. Success can also mean, completing an objective or reaching a goal you set. Success can also be said to encompass an entire project or be restricted to a single component of a project or task that can be achieved within the workplace, or in an individual's personal life. Additionally, success can be used to describe a person that has achieved his or her personal, financial or career goals. for example, a student that sat for examination with the sole aim to pass, hence if when the results are out, he passed, such student can be said to be a success. Most importantly, I will say that success is not relative. it is done by comparison because there is no standard on which success measurement is based. What can be seen as success for person A might be the same for person B. However, every human want to be a success in their chosen endeavor or on the target/goal which they have set for themselves but absolutely not all do achieve it as their key factor for success. the failure to know this key for success might result in perpetual failure. Wisdom teaches that only a fool will be doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results. KEY FOR SUCCESS Believe that you are Success: Have you ever thought of it that you are winner to be where you are today. Let's go back to conception, science study reported that over 1 millions sperm cells were ejaculated during mating but the most viable (the winner) will fertilize the egg out of the millions sperm cells, that winner is you. from every stages of lives, you have won till now. You are the master of your own destiny. Hence, believe in yourself, this will give you the confidence to forge ahead because your future is largely determined by yourself, by your choices and decisions. What you and I achieved is the result of what we do, or fail to do at every moment, day in and day out. Be ready to learn: Eschew mediocrity and be eager to learn from experts in the field you want to achieve the success be it in the bussines world, education, modelling, creative arts, music and so on. There are legends in any chosen field you research about. There is a rule that say ''If you do what other successful people do, nothing can stop you from getting the same results they got. And if you don't do what do what they do, nothing can help you''. Hence for you be successful, read about the story of successful people, their motivation, their principles, how they started, how they scaled every hurdles to be what they are today. hence you can pick some tenets of their success and be ready to apply it. Become brilliant on the Basics: This is another critical key for success, if you want to achieve success in any field, you have to have clear, written plans that you follow and work out each day, success will become much more attainable. That is, if you study thoroughly and apply yourself to developing the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in your field, you will increase your success probabilities of success. Associate with the right people, if you associate with success, success will be rubbed on you the African proverb say. Manage yourself and your time extremely well. Search for opportunities and move quickly when one present itself. This is one attribute of successful people, very swift to pounce on opportunities. Be willing to to take intelligent risks : The willingness to take intelligent risks in your clearly defined, intensely desired goals put you on the sides of success. You will also increase all the possible probabilities in your favor and your success will increase in geometric rate. Persistence or Perseverance : this is another key for success, there is a direct relationship between the number of different things you attempt and your likelihood of eventual success. In Law of motion a moment of inertia has to be overcome to set a body in motion. Same applies to life, but we must never give up, try it out one more time and success will smile on your face. Stress. Management is also a vital key to success, always do create time to refresh your mind, go to fun and amusement parks, go watch a game and importantly, sleep well. |
What is politics? Is politics a profession or a career? Why are many people interested in politics? Should i participate in politics? is politics a dirty game? How does politics shape up the economy of a nation? These are few of the questions we often ask ourselves but people respond with different opinions. What is politics: Politics is the process of making decisions that apply to members of a group. It refers to achieving and exercising positions of governance—organized control over a human community, particularly a state (Wikipedia). From the above definition, politics should be process of making informed decisions, making policies, standing for an ideology and a believe on how a state or country is to be governed. Politics is also a mean of acquiring power in government, and influence the government in your favor. There is a popular saying that money without power is meaningless, but with power, you get follower and you got influence. that is why most rich people among us almost all over the world were in one way or other either discretely or fully involved in politics. Is politics a profession or a career? Politics i will say is not a profession because in any profession, there are requirements, job responsibilities and even qualifications you most possess before you can be actively involved. but i am not sure there is such academic qualification in politics. However, in Nigeria, politics is a career, a profession which people are earning a living from. Nigerian politicians see politics as a mean to acquired massive wealth for themselves and their unborn generations. A tool to take to take their own share of the national cake. A game of interest, DOA (Death or Alive), a game where thuggery is highly lucrative and a means to impoverish the masses and amass wealth unto themselves. A beggar they say has no choice, who is a beggar if not the poor, and no one bite the finger that feet him. Why are many people interested in politics. There is general tendency among human to be rich and politics is an avenue to do so without without much qualifications, the only requirement is to be in the winning team (party) and have a political gladiator as godfather. Can these trends in our politics be tamed? Well nothing is impossible, politics is a game of numbers, and we make up the number, we hold the power at least once in every four years. What do we do do with it, do you sell yours power cheaply like Esua in the Bible for a morsel of bread or for few thousands? If the answer is yes, there is time for amendments as the time to exercise our power will soon be around the corner. they will dangle carrot before you, eat corn and sugar cane with us on the streets, sweet talk you and promised heaven on earth, never you fall for such plots again. We are now wiser. ![]() http://www.studentssupport.com.ng/2018/08/what-is-politics.html |
Hate speech is speech that attacks a person or group on the basis of attributes such as race, religion, ethnic origin, national origin, sex, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity (Wikipedia). Numerous legal scholars have put forward quite a number of definitions about the term ‘hate speech’. Unsurprisingly, all of these legal scholars have sought, explicitly or implicitly, to define a legal concept of hate speech to mean a concept that refers to speech that is, or has been at one time or could be in the future, lead to incitement of hatred. Though social media has immensely improve our political participations on part of the youths in Nigeria in the recent year most especially in the 2015 general elections, where we can air our view on any topics on facebook, twitter, google plus, nairaland and many more of such social media we have have around. Despite the freedom of speech being a fundamental human right in major climes of the world and Nigeria inclusive, efforts need being made to curtail words that can incite one ethnic group against the other. Hate speech has been a major part of our democracy, you will remember the different documentaries that was aired preceding the 2015 general elections, the campaigns of hatred on social media and many more. I dare say that hate speeches were part of the elements through which power was wrestled from People Democratic Party under His Excellency, Goodluck Jonathan, most especially from the youths, speech or post like Clueless president, Shoe-less president, Mumu president and so on are trending words on the pages of our social media. Now another elections year is fast approaching, hate speeches have started flying up and down justifiably so because the youths or let me many Nigerians were angered by the below par performances of the present administration based on a million and one promises made during their campaigns. Though i am not clamoring for hate speeches, but a critical assessment of the performance of the present administration and not the personality of the president should be advocated. More so, the present administration should see criticism as tools for improvements and their efforts to gag the people from expressing their opinions should be resisted by all Nigerians. Recently, we heard of the arrest of the Premium Times Managing Directors, Mr. Sunday Ogundipe (though now released) for airing his views on issues which is passive to be damaging to a key figure in this administration and arrest of 112 women from Imo State for a peaceful protest, such should not be allowed to have root in our democracy. THIS IS NOT THE CHANGE WE WANT. https://www.studentssupport.com.ng/2018/08/hate-speech-on-social-media.html |
