8 Warning Signs of Toxic Faith

Legalistic religion is dangerous. Here's how you can detect and avoid the poison of a[i] religious spirit.

After Elisha watched Elijah ascend into heaven, the prophet went to the city of Jericho and performed his first miracle. The men of that city faced an environmental crisis: Their water was toxic, most likely because of the sulfur and other chemicals that had rained down upon nearby Sodom and Gomorrah years earlier. This poison had made the land barren (see 2 Kings 2:19-22) and it was probably affecting people and animals as well as plant life.

So Elisha performed a bold, prophetic act. He threw salt in the water and proclaimed: "Thus says the Lord, ‘I have purified these waters; there shall not be from there death or unfruitfulness any longer'" (v. 21, NASB). His proclamation brought immediate cleansing.

This obscure story in the Old Testament offers us a picture of the gospel's power. The message of Jesus Christ heals us. The Holy Spirit brings life where death has reigned. He neutralizes the poisons that cause spiritual barrenness. He balances the [i]pH level so that spiritual growth and vitality is possible.[/i]

All of us would like to enjoy a healthy spiritual life. But the sad truth is that many of us are barren because of hazardous additives. We have believed a different gospel—one laced with legalism, performance-based religion and salvation by works[i]—when Christ alone is our only source of life.
Jesus Himself referr[/i]ed to these toxins as "the leaven of the Pharisees" (Luke 12:1, NASB). He told us that the Pharisees' brand of religion, which looked good on the outside, was deadly—and contagious.
Have you been infected? You can [b]take your own pH test [/b]by examining these eight characteristics of a religious spirit.

1. A religious spirit views God as a cold, harsh, distant taskmaster rather than an approachable, loving Father. When we base our relationship with God on our ability to perform spiritual duties, we deny the power of grace. God does not love us because we pray, read our Bibles, attend church or witness, yet millions of Christians think God is mad if they don't perform these and other duties perfectly. As a result they struggle to find true intimacy with Jesus.

2. A religious spirit places emphasis on doing outward things to show others that God accepts him. We deceive ourselves into believing that we can win God's approval through a religious dress code, certain spiritual disciplines, particular music styles or even doctrinal positions.

3. A religious spirit develops traditions and formulas to accomplish spiritual goals. We trust in our liturgies, denominational policies or man-made programs to obtain results that only God alone can give.

4. A religious spirit becomes joyless, cynical and hypercritical. This can turn a home or a church completely sour. Then, whenever genuine joy and love are expressed, this becomes a threat to those who have lost the simplicity of true faith.

5. A religious spirit becomes prideful and isolated, thinking that his righteousness is special and that he cannot associate with other believers who have different standards. Churches that allow these attitudes become elitist and dangerously vulnerable to deception or cult-like practices.

6. A religious spirit develops a harsh, judgmental attitude toward sinners, yet those who ingest this poison typically struggle with sinful habits that they cannot admit to anyone else. Religious people rarely interact with nonbelievers because they don't want their own superior morals to be tainted by them.

7. A religious spirit rejects progressive revelation and refuses to embrace change. This is why many churches become irrelevant to society. They become so focused on what God did 50 years ago that they become stuck in a time warp and cannot move forward when the Holy Spirit begins to open new understanding. When religious groups refuse to shift with God's new directives, they become "old wineskins" and God must find more flexible vessels that are willing to implement change.

8. A religious spirit persecutes those who disagree with his self-righteous views and becomes angry whenever the message of grace threatens to undermine his religiosity. An angry religious person will use gossip and slander to assassinate other peoples' character and may even use violence to prove his point. Jesus, in fact, warned His disciples: "There will even come a time when anyone who kills you will think he's doing God a favor" (John 16:2, The Message).

If the poison of religion has contaminated your walk with God, ask Him to pour a fresh understanding of His grace into your barren spirit—and then expect His new life to flow through you.

“Hearing” ~ A Precious Gift"

I work with elderly people and this afternoon I took one of my lady clients who is ninety-five years old to an ear doctor for an adjustment on her hearing aide. While in the waiting room I noticed a diagram of an ear with the entire auditory system on the wall. The picture showed the sensory system for hearing. Above the diagram was a huge sign which read: HEARING – A PRECIOUS GIFT. When I read that sign the Holy Spirit quickened this word to me. The doctor explained to me that sometimes the voices and noises around the patient are amplified with the hearing aide and it interferes with them tuning in to the voice of the person that is speaking to them. All the clamour around them can be so loud and disturbing that they have to learn how to tune out the outside distractions to be able to hear the person who is speaking to them. I thought to myself, what an awesome analogy for Christians that are having difficulty hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit. Before we can hear His voice we need to first filter out the voice of our soul (Our own thoughts), the voices of the people around us and the voices of the enemy. We can all learn to hear the Holy Spirits voice. This is His desire for us but we must be willing to submit to Him and tune our ears to hear. Jesus said in the book of John that His sheep know His voice.

John 10: 4 - 5
And when He brings out His own sheep, He goes before them; and the sheep follow Him, for they know His voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.

Hearing His voice is one of the most precious gifts that we can receive. Communication is always a two way street. It is important to keep a line of communication open with God. He can speak to us through a still small voice, an inner thought, an image, a dream or a vision, a feeling, a knowing, an impression, meditation (on Him) or whatever other way He chooses. The key is to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and how He is speaking at the time because He speaks in so many ways.

Job 33: 14 - 16
For God may speak in one way, or in another, Yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falls upon men, While slumbering on their beds, Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction.

Hearing His voice is not some mystical or spooky thing. You may have heard some people claiming that God said certain things that were totally absurd but don't allow that to turn you off from the genuine. It is imperative that you know the Holy Spirits voice for yourself so that you don't get derailed from the truth. His voice will always line up with His word. Learning to hear Gods voice is not something we learn instantly but it is a process. It is imperative to spend quality time with reading the Word of God and prayer to cultivate a personal relationship with Him. A person will take on the aroma of whatever they spend a lot of time around.

Isaiah 30:21
Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it," Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.

The more intimate you become with Him, the easier it will become to recognize His voice. Although there are many voices out there that vies for your attention, tune in to His voice. The key is to become sensitive to The Holy Spirit. Ask the Lord to sensitize you to His voice and fine tune your hearing. Ask for clarification and discernment. He desires to commune with you.

A Time Of Strengthening

I want to build you up to be mighty warriors, but you cannot do it on
your own. You need My presence, My grace and anointing upon you
constantly. And the only way to obtain all that you need is by staying
by My side and resting, waiting upon Me whenever you can. Make use of
every moment that you can to rest before Me for mighty is the battle
ahead, and you must be ready for it.

So come before Me so that I can heal your heart from those things that
have wounded you. Let Me bring to your memory anything you have
suppressed of deep hurts, resentments, or unforgiveness that might
hold you back. For you need to be clean vessels so that My power and
glory can flow freely through you. Let Me set you free from any doubts
or fears with My perfect love.

Once you reach the point you must be in Me as clean vessels, keep your
guard up for the enemy will want you back in his clutch. But don't let
him back in your thoughts, for the battle is won or lost in your mind.
Keep covered with My armor of light and love. Be filled this day with
My grace and truth. Reach out to Me so I can fill you to overflowing
with My Spirit, which is a mighty force field that the enemy can't
cross. The same Spirit that raised My Son from the dead dwells in you.

You dwell with Me high above all power and principality, and I am
sovereign ruler of all having control of every move of the evil one.
He has no rights of his own or power without My allowing it.

Believe and receive My every promise made to you in My word for it is
your sword. Stand behind My faith which protects your heart from the
arrows sent from the evil one. Pray unceasingly in the Spirit to stay
built up. And rejoice for we have won the battle. You fight from the
place of victory. No matter what happens to your flesh, your spirit will
soar in Me like the eagle.

The End of the Journey

For each of us and collectively all of us, the end of the journey is fully becoming the Bride of Christ pictured as the New Jerusalem of God and ruling and reigning with Him in a renewed world transformed by His love, wisdom, and power.

Rev 21:9-10: Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, "Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife." And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem,

Rev 21:2-5: Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful."

On a broader, worldwide scale beyond the journey of the highway of holiness people, the transition of the world will be catastrophic and cataclysmic as the pride and loftiness of man and all that lifts itself against God will be dissolved by fire and the land resettled by the holy, pure Bride of Christ people ruling and reigning with Christ. And of His kingdom there shall be no end.

Mat 13:41-43: "The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

Isa 9:7: Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Keep on pursuing love. It never fails
and His kingdom never ends.

I have given to you mighty weapons, beloved. Use them. Use them to your satisfaction in pulling down every word or deed that opposes your God.

You must go forth with confidence, confidence in Who I am to you, and know, beloved, that I would never let My beloved go wanting. I am with you, strengthening you, and I will see to it that you will have everything you need to combat the enemy, the opposing forces that are out to conquer, divide, and take captive.

I Will Take Care Of You

Do not fear, little one, when the enemy comes into your like a storm.
You do not face him alone, for I stand there with you and I raise up
a standard over you.

The enemy of your soul wants to use fear and terror against you. He
will do whatever he can to make you afraid or to make you lose hope.
He wants you to despair, so that you will give up and stop trying to
walk out your destiny. He doesn't want you to accomplish the things
that I have created you to do.

Little one, his power over you is very limited and his power to do
you harm is not nearly as much as he would like you to think that
it is.

I, on the other hand, have all power. I am fully able to take care of
My own, and I am more than willing to do so. So, don't be afraid,
little one. I am here with you and I will indeed take care of you.
Put your trust in Me and fear not.

Decide

This is a day of decision for many of My own. I am a God Who is the
same yesterday, today and forever. My promises are Yes and Amen!
But many of My people need to change.

Yes, I am calling My people to change. I am calling to those who are
hiding in the shadows of others and not rising up to your calling.
Come Forth! I am saying "Come Forth!" to those who hold back because
of fear of man. And those of you who allow anger, bitterness,
unforgiveness and condemnation to keep them from advancing, I say
to you, "Let it go and come forth!".

What you decide today will determine your tomorrow.

Arise From Your Comfort Zone

The Lord is inviting every one of us to come into a deeper relationship with Him. He wants us all to experience His awesome power in our lives but there are too many Christians that live a carnal life all week and go to church on Sunday as a routine. Many of you are not living the exciting life that Jesus intended for you to have. He has called you to have a personal relationship with Him. Christianity is not a religious ritual. He wants to give you wisdom (Not human wisdom) and revelation (His revealed secrets) and reveal the mysteries of His Kingdom and His Word to you. God wants to raise up an Army not a Girl Scout or Boy Scout camp. It is not about reading a daily devotional or a chapter a day of the bible but He wants to give you revelation beyond human comprehension when you read His Word. His word is alive and it has the same dunamis power today as it did in the day of creation.

Hebrews 4: 12
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

As the things of this world are growing darker, we have to realize that we are the light of the world. A man of God was recently asked what he thinks about this recession. The man replied: I refuse to participate in it. Paul Keith Davis once said that we are citizens of a higher Kingdom that cannot be shaken. How can we be the light of the world if we are living the same way as the world? It is time to come out of your comfort zone. Being a lukewarm Christian is totally unacceptable to Jesus.

Revelation 3: 16
So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

I believe that we are living in a time of considerable acceleration, fruitfulness and favor but only for those who have positioned themselves according to God's standards. There is an open door for us to enter into a place with God which we have never experienced.

We were not called to be pew sitters. We are a mighty army and we are called to do great exploits. This is not the time to faint. Fear not and come out of your comfort zone. The Master has need of you.

Proverbs 24:10
If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small.

Hmmmm ! No arguement, thank you. How can you know the right religion when you don't analyse and do hypothesis. What a pity, a hindu will claim that his religion is the right path, you can only make him know the truth through interrogation/challenge.


Whether you are a former muslim or not is not my business. Does who converts to christianity were in the first place never a practising muslim, they convert to xtianity for worldly gain. Everyday in Europe and U.S people are finding out the truth and thats why you see many sites trying to discredit islam so as to ,,,,,

New Wine Skins


God spoke to me this morning telling me that we can not put new wine
into old wine skins: the substance of who we are now can not be
contained or maintained if we try to go back to our old habits or
mindsets. We are new creatures. Old things are past and all things
are become new.

We must live as the new vessels the potter has created us to be;
vessels created to carry and pour out the oil of gladness; lamps to
bring light of hope; containers to bring salt of the goodness of the
Lord that men may taste and see; that men may hope and desire the
good things of the Lord which will bring gladness into their lives
just as they see in us.

I Shall Reverse The Curse


I shall reverse the course that you have been under. I shall reverse
the curse that has been coming against you. There shall be healing and
life, where there has been death and decay. A new vitality shall spring
up with you. You shall grow strong!

I Have Not Forgotten You

Do not think I have forgotten you, for you are Mine, and in you I see the
likeness of My Son. I have not abandoned the plans I have for you. I have
set them you, so allow them to come to maturity. I have not forgotten My
purposes that I set specifically for you. My Son is perfecting you for
their completing.

I have created you to have encounters with Me. I have created you with
divine purpose. Hear the intimate desires of My heart and learn how I
hold and protect you. You are precious and esteemed in My heart.

Shed False Humility and Embrace God's Reality

God has something to say on the issue of pride. He hates pride and you already know this. Most sincere Christians do not fall into blatant hautiness and arrogance. Some do and if you do, you need to deal with it before God deals with it for you. God's way of addressing pride and arrogance are not pleasant. That is why He gives us a season of time to address it ourselves before He comes and deals with it in our lives.

Most of the people reading this word will think that the above warning does not apply to them, because they do not believe they struggle with pride and arrogance. But God says that false humility, and pushing ourselves down when He is trying to raise us up, is every bit as much "pride" as being haughty.

It is telling God that you are smarter than Him, that you know better than Him and that your plans make more sense than His. And He finds that offensive.

So the Lord would address those of you who have been beating yourself down and who have been refusing to allow Him to lift you up. And He says,

"Stop it!

Come to Me. Let Me replace your illusions and fears with with My reality. I will define you to be precisely the person that I created you to be.

It is time, child of Mine, to resist Me no longer. Do not fight Me, for My plans for you are good. I know that you are not able to accomplish this in your own strength and power. And I never intended for you to do it that way, in your own strength and through your own resources. Instead, allow Me to transform you. Allow me to empower you.

Allow me to be the wind beneath your wings that sustains you. Do not fold up your wings and refuse to fly. If you do that, how can I allow to you participate with Me in accomplishing My plans and purposes?

Your place is NOT to fight Me. Your place is not to resist me. Rather, it is to come to Me and allow Me to show you precisely who I have created you to be. Then allow me to position you in precisely the place that I have ordained for you. Resist Me not, and I will heal you and I will empower you. Child of mine, I will make you able to accomplish all that I have appointed for you to do. I have appointed you for victory. Do not choose to fold up your wings, resist My good will for you and walk in defeat.

Again I say to you, resist Me not! Do not tell why you are not qualified. Instead let Me fill you with My indwelling presence. Let me make you able through My power. Let me transform you and conform you into My likeness. Let Me strengthen that which is weak in you. Hide it not from Me. Do you really think you can conceal your faults and weaknesses from Me? Child of mine, don't you understand that I know it all, I see it all. But I love you anyhow. Do not fear to come to me. Present yourself to me and allow Me to define who you really are.

Listen no more to who the world says you are. Cast it off of you as you would remove an old tattered jacket. Embrace My reality. Watch me empower and transform you. Watch me make you strong and mighty in Me. Watch Me give you the guidance and direction you need. Watch me place you strategically and watch me work My glory through you.

It is time to stop fighting Me, time to stop thrusting yourself down when I begin to lift you up. Resist Me not, for my plans for you are very good. And I am able to accomplish them in your life if you choose to cooperate with me. Resist Me not. Embrace My reality. And My glory shall begin to spring forth in your life.

I NEED YOUR HELP, DEAR LORD! IF I AM A PART OF THE PROBLEMS IN MY LIFE, REVEAL WHERE I AM NOT DOING RIGHT IN YOUR SIGHT. SHOW ME MY SINS AND WHERE I AM FAILING OR HAVE FAILED IN THE PAST. I AM TOTALLY THINE. TELL ME CLEARLY IF I AM BLOCKING MY OWN PRAYERS THROUGH SIN. DEAR LORD, I DO NOT WANT ANYTHING TO STAND BETWEEN US. LET YOUR WORK BEGIN NOW IN ME, AND THEN MAKE THE OTHER CHANGES THAT ARE NEEDED FOR A PERFECT WORK. I KNOW YOUR WORD DECLARES: JER 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?” YOU KNOW ME, MY LORD, AND THERE IS NOTHING HIDDEN FROM YOUR EYES. CREATE IN ME A CLEAN HEART AND RENEW A RIGHT SPIRIT WITHIN ME.

Take Up Your Weapons

It is time to take up your weapons. It is time to engage in battle, but not
the weapons of the world: no guns, or knives, swords or explosives. No, the
weapons I have given you are higher and much more effective than these.

The best weapon you have is My Word. Above all else, use My word to defeat
the enemy. Speak My Word. Combat the lies of the enemy and bring them down
to nothing by the employment of My Word. My Word will never run out of
ammunition. My Word will never fail. It will not misfire. It will not miss
the mark. It is always on time, on target and triumphant. My Word will
bring down strongholds reducing them to dust to be blown away by the wind of
My Spirit. My Word is a weapon you can depend on in every battle.

Use your weapon of prayer. Your sincere, heartfelt, fervent prayers will
break down barriers, erect walls of protection and safely; and pierce the
hidden bunkers of the enemy. It will uncover and unmask to reveal the truth
of the enemies tactics and strategies. Pray always in every situation,
leaving nothing to chance, neglecting nothing. Bring every concern before
My throne in honesty and with intense, earnest prayer.

2 Cor. 10:4
For the weapons of our warfare are not physical (weapons of flesh
and blood), but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and
destruction of strongholds, [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and
theories and reasoning and every proud and lofty things that sets
itself up against the (true) knowledge of God; as we lead every
thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ, the
Messiah, the Anointed One.

Hi,
thus says the Lord " My children, stop pleasing religious folks.
Stop pleasing your bosses.
Stop trying to please everybody
Stop trying to make everybody love you.
Stop seeking your own advantage".

My child, begin to do my will, that which you know precisely.
That which my word says clearly, that which you understand.
That which is obvious and clear to you. Anything not evidenced in and in
correspondence with my word, is not from me, regardless of how religious it
sounds. I have not changed.
That which I have said remains valid always and forever.

Hold to my written word, there you have it in black and white.
There, you will find it exactly as it is.
There you have good counsel.
My word will remain, even when heaven and earth pass away.
Become a doer of my word.

I am at the door, and I am only coming for those who are victorious and ready.
The ones who live as overcomers. I want to make history with you. Fear not!
That is my command to you. You must be fearless. Do not focus on your
difficulties, but hold on to my promises. I will keep the promises I have
made. Thus says the Lord.

GOD SAID: “INSTEAD OF THINKING YOU ARE FAILING, DWELL ON HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU “

“This is a truth that must be grasped by all of my children or they will never be able to truly be free. It saddens Me that many of my children say, ‘God loves me’ but haven’t truly accepted it. When you know you are loved by Me, there is a great freedom, a joy and a sense of ‘No matter what happens to me, I will be OK.’ My Son did not say the truth will set you free. He said, ‘You will know the truth and the truth will set you free’ (John 8:32). You are greatly loved, more so than you could ever comprehend. Each of My children will enter their mansion (John 14:2) accepted in the beloved (Ephesians 1:6). I have received you as a son/daughter, period. Stop looking at your imperfections and study My word to see how much I love you (Romans 8: 35-39). I think of you affectionately every day.”
