The year Hazard won PFA, he recorded 14 goals and 9 assists.

That season, Chelsea scored a total of 73 goals in the Pl.

Cesc recorded a total of 18 assists.

Costa scored 20 goals in that season.

Now compare it to this season. Out of 63 we scored, Hazard has been involved in almost 50%.


No other player has a double figure. Not in goals, not in assists.


So this is unarguably his best season in a Chelsea shirt.

1. You are looking at it from the goals and assists alone glass.
2. The bold makes your argument null and void.
If we had a reasonable striker and another reasonable creative player, we would have scored more goals, and the other player would have gotten more assists then hazard goals and assists wouldn't have contributed to almost 50% of our goals.

Then maybe we have been fighting for the league.

Reason for Ratings for each match is to tell us how consistent he was week in week out. Total Average rating can't give us that.
This is because, total average performance can not tell us if a player had a parallel 7/10 performance or a mix of 10/10 and 5/10 performance

In his case, it's little to do with bigger club. He was at Barcelona prior to Arsenal and barely a flop there. He was 29, on his last legs. He moved to the wrong club, with a Manager whose tactics were incompatible with his abilities and energy. He dropped down the pecking order and consequently, lost confidence.

He was never a poor/average player.

Sanchez was already on the decline in Arsenal. We can attribute that to his age, but it has nothing to do with Mourinho and his tactics.

Before this season, no one ever saw Kante as a player with the ability to play box to box and contribute with goals. Kante had one goal and one assist in each of the previous two PL seasons. This season, he's got 4 goals and 4 assists in the PL so far. And this is not an improvement?

In fact, Kante is one of the few players in the team that executes Sarri's tactical play nearly 100%, due to his intelligence, understanding of positioning, passing, pressing, and defending. Sarri is not responsible for your unwillingness to see Kante as much more than just a DM.
