HanksAnuku: The bolded shows that you're actually taking the conversation too deep.
And sincerely, that's your problem not mine.
The key takeaway from that post was the importance of a winning goal.
Sadly, you're stuck actually thinking about a single attacker scoring 500 goals on his own.
It's like figure of speech is too much for your feeble mind. no, you are the one who is not reasoning well. Even if we reduce it to 3-2, one player scored 2 and the other scored the last one, you want to tell me that the one who scored one goal was better? Oga i beg you, stop taking Whatever you took before you started this argument. It can't help you. You are just ridiculing yourself right now and i don't like it. |

The home match against pool was not a must win
The carling cup game was not a must win.
The league game at anfield was a must win...and that's the one Salah did the business in, and Hazard was nowhere to be found.
This is what they call impact sir how did salah do the business when he did not scored your precious winning goal |

HanksAnuku: Points are not accumulated by goals scored. Points are accumulated by not losing and you don't even have to score to not lose
If you draw 0-0 you get a point. if you lose 501-500, you get no points.
If Hazard scores the whole 500 goals in that game, and Salah only scored the 501st goal, he was the one that delivered the points for his team...not hazard . in my years of following this thread, the bold is the lowest point of reasoning i have read from your post. The bakayoko argument does not even beat. In the instance you gave, you didn't even factor in that the stupid people are the defenders that allowed 501 goals to go in when one of their attacker has scored 500 alone. I can't even believe that nihilist is behind this moniker. It is not possible. Their must be something influencing this |

HanksAnuku: Yes no doubt Hazard has scored a larger chunk of Chelsea's goals.
But how many of those goals scored were important?
That's why I brought in match winning goals.
Liverpool have 27 wins this season. Salah goals decided 9 of them. That's 33%
Chelsea have 20 wins this season. Hazard goals only ensured 5 of those wins
Theres a phrase called "big game player". I promise you I did not invent it. so, using this your argument, we can now say that Salah has been better than Mane this season? Please don't go to the big game talk. We know what the big games are and we know how both have performed in them. BTW, why are we talking about goals alone, what happened to assists? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Greatihex(m): 4:22pm On Apr 26, 2019 |
HanksAnuku: How is hazard the better player this season? How?
Stats don't lie, but interpretation of stats is subjective. Guy I'm the one who said Hazard is in the same bracket at Ronaldo and Messi talent wise. My allegiance is clear
But if even Chelseafan1 can cuss hazard this season, then what I'm saying should come as no great surprise
Hazard has had a great season individually. But his stats have flattered to deceive.
Look at Aubameyang and Lacazette. Lacazette has only 13 league goals, but 9 of those goals were the ones that sealed the win for his team. I think Auba has 16 or 17, not sure but only 3 of those goals won the 3 points for his team.
This is what I'm talking about here. Not pumping Huddersfield and Cardiff then clapping your hands.
Salah is DIRECTLY responsible for 1/3 of all Liverpool's wins this season. That's not stats padding by scoring unimportant goals
See what happened when we last faced them. Hazard was playing rubbish, while Salah was shooting golazos. After the match Hazard went to be joking with Salah sef. I felt like slapping him. let us put this your winning goal talk to test, shall we? As important as winning goals can be sometimes, it can be deceiving and also dependent on other factors. Now, i am going to use the both leg matches of Chelsea and Liverpool as an instance for what I want to bring to light. In the first leg, hazard scored a goal that looked like a winning goal for almost 90 min until a short kepa allow a Sturridge equalizer. [hazard winning goal that should have won 3 points became 1 point goal]. Also, salah was useless throughout and i think was subbed early. Second leg, Liverpool were winning with one goal from Mane before salah scored the second. Mane's goal by right is the winning goal, while Salah's can be termed stat padding. But, Do you know that if alisson had mistakenly failed to keep out that hazard second 1vs1 effort and the ball went in, salah's goal that looked meaningless would have automatically turned to a winning goal? Now you see, as much sensible you think winning goal sounds in this argument, it can also sound senseless. Like i said earlier, i don't use some of this less important stats alone to rate players. I don't use goals and assists alone also, but even if we go that lane, hazard still comes out top. BTW, you have not answered the question i asked you last night. You are talking about winning goals, what about equalizing goals. Goals that won 1 point. Have you considered that? |

“Mo Salah is one of my good friends and he’s doing something incredible.
“I try to look at this player and this player and try to reach that level.”
Just in case you were wondering now you are being funny. How does this help the argument? I know you to be someone who presents strong facts and stats with sound explanation during an argument, but i have not seen that in this argument. "At Real, we were winning 3-0 at half-time. He [Mourinho] came into the dressing room and went mental. He kicked the fridge, kicked the television, threw water," Adebayor told Sportsmail . "He killed everyone. I remember he once killed Ronaldo after he scored a hat-trick. He said 'Everyone says you are the best in the world and you are playing badly. Show me you are the best'. "Cristiano took it. Ronaldo could score a hat-trick but talk about the ones he missed." During his stay in Madrid, the former Arsenal and Manchester City forward joined Ronaldo in several group and individual training sessions, and wad particularly impressed by the Portuguese star's work-rate, strength and techniques. "He trained with us at Real Madrid as though he was training with his kids,” Adebayor added. "Passes with his back, control with his neck. "He once kept the ball for five seconds with one touch! How is that even possible? "In the gym, wow. Sergio Ramos and I were the strongest. But then came Ronaldo. 'You think that's hard?' he would say. We'd do five reps and he'd do 30." |

HanksAnuku: Assists count, but assists are not always an indicator of individual brilliance....afterall, the person being assisted still has to convert before you get your credit as an assist provider.
If you combine all the stats, Hazard has 3 more goal contributions than Salah in total. But how come Salah has more match winning goals than Hazard? How come Liverpool are doing a lot better than Chelsea?
Hazard stat pads. Score 2 goals in a 5-0 demolition of huddersfield, and then stay silent when City pump us 6 kondo.
In all the games we've lost this season, Hazard did not contribute a goal or assist. SO you cant even say oh he tried, but defence let him down.
Individually Hazard has been brilliant, but have his goals and assists helped us, the same way Salah's output has helped city? I think the answer is no. you are just shouting winning goal, winning goal, have you thought about equalizing goal? Though i don't use that yardstick alone. There is no way on earth i am picking this season Salah ahead of this season hazard and i think alot of people will agree with me |

Ibime: The problem is they kept passing him the ball during that PSG game, and they always pass him the ball and he will be slowing down attacks. When you have a player like Hazard in your team, he dictates the way the team play. Players become lazy - instead of driving the issue, busting a gut to force overlaps etc, they just give him the ball to dribble their way out. This single point of failure has cost us badly in many games when he decide to dilly-dally instead of playing urgently. That's why I say heaven will not fall if he leave cos players will start doing basic attacking moves again. i believe he can achieve his full potential if he has serious competition for his position. he loves to play football, so he will do the right things to make sure he plays. about giving him the ball always, i think it is because the club has become so much dependent on his talent and i think that is messing with his head. for the bold, i think we are not sure of what will happen, but we are about to see that come august |

Ibime: Anyone with eyes should go back and watch the PSG match in UCL where we lost despite playing against 10 men. This is what Hazard was doing all game and made us lose that game with his lackadaisical attitude. When you are playing against 10 men, you have to move the ball quickly to capitalise on the man advantage but Hazard injected anaesthetic into our game that night. the most annoying thing is that when the guy decides not to play football, he will still be the best player for a team like chelsea. no competition whatsoever for the guy that should make him more serious. if he had serious competition for his place, i am not sure he will be choosing when to be useful for the team. imagine a team like chelsea not signing an attacker (one not named a striker) since we signed pedro. how many years now. |

Chelsea need a better corner kick taker.
The bulk of the blame from that match should go to Sarri for his tactical rigidity and also our defence. Pairing Higuain, who also had a good game yesterday, with Giroud at the front would have given us a better result. no. you can't tell me that someone who could not cut in to the right to take a shot for 90 min had a good game. someone who continued to hug the touchline , walking with the ball, delivering weak setpieces had a good game. the only reasonable thing he did yesterday was that assist to kante. |
