penetrate the hair shaft for deep hydration.
According to a study published in the Journal
of Cosmetic Science, coconut oil is one of the
best hair oils and actually hydrates the hair
better than mineral oil and sunflower oil.
To make use of the moisturizing properties of
coconut oil at home, make a do-it-yourself
coconut oil hair mask. Use your hands to warm
up a tablespoon of fresh coconut oil. Then
apply the oil to dry, clean hair. Extra coconut
oil is required for longer and thicker hair. Then
carefully comb through the hair using a wide-
toothed comb. Wrap the hair in a shower cap
and let it soak in for at least 30 minutes before
the oil absorbs into the strands. For best
results, leave the coconut oil hair mask
overnight. Shampoo the hair to remove the oil.

PREVENTS PROTEIN LOSS
Coconut oil can help prevent breakage by
reducing protein loss. Proteins in the hair
structure give the hair its strength. So by using
coconut oil as a leave-in conditioner on the
outside of the strands, you can help the hair
maintain its natural strength.
To use coconut oil as a leave-in conditioner,
heat a ¼ teaspoon in your hands and apply it
to wet hair, avoiding the roots. If you have long
