Obaseki is not only a despirado but a political drowning miscreants. At this critical times, instead of him to just hand over the bat he rather chose to ferment troubles and cause dispute amongst different villages in edo state of which auchi and her evirons are his target.
Last week, during one of his campaigns he caused mayhem on the people of appana a community that is not up to 10km from auchi. He unleashed his rugs to shoot sporadically on the people of Apana causing every body in that community to scam for safty. So many indigens of that community got injured as a result of this bestial attitude of Obaseki.
The campaign he held last week was a total disgrace as canopies filled with chairs were empty wwithout ppeople And again he got infurated and ordered his personal guards, tugs to baricade every junction of the town.
This man has lost every senses of governance and coordination. To rule edo state is not a do or die affair. Obaseki should just admitt defeat and console himself instead of twirling and disturbing peace.

Edo 2020: APC raises alarm on continued attacks and destruction of its billboard by Obaseki

The State Media Campaign Council of the APC for the Sept.19 Governorship election has accused Governor Godwin Obaseki and the PDP of continuing its onslaught in Edo State against the APC with renewed attacks and destruction of the party’s outdoor billboards and other campaign materials.

In a statement released on Monday by Mr. John Mayaki, the Chairman of the State Media Campaign Council, the APC said Governor Godwin Obaseki is venting his frustration over widespread rejection by the people on its campaign billboards by allegedly asking his thugs to continue their criminal acts of destruction.

He said: “Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the outgoing Governor of Edo State, is a frustrated man. He is venting his pent-up anger and frustration, made worse with the complete abandonment of his already wrecked re-election bid by his family members and closest aides who continue to resign in large numbers, on our innocent campaign billboards and other materials.”

“If not a sign of frustration and indication of intolerance, why is the Governor jittery at the sight of our erected billboards in the State to the point where he gave explicit instruction to his recruited thugs and cultists to destroy them in the cover of the night?”

“We have recorded this mindless vandalism of our billboards at new locations where local residents testified that the crime was carried out by armed thugs who made no pretense to the fact that they were carrying out the instructions of the Governor.”

“Everyone listened to Mr. Godwin Obaseki on Sunday when he irresponsibly boasted of his immunity while charging his “boys” to go on a rampage because they are the government.”

“We have since alerted the Police, INEC, and other relevant stakeholders to the glaring fact that Mr. Godwin Obaseki, having realized that he stands no chance against Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has decided to mar the election with violence and subvert the will of the people.”

“We are repeating our plea to these stakeholders to enforce the rule of law in Edo State and protect our campaign materials and supporters from the tyranny, lawlessness, and violence of Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his state goons.”

Edo 2020: Over 87 APC Councilors vow to resist Obaseki's harassment to forcefully join PDP

Over 87 elected Councilors in the Edo State have vowed to resist the harassment and official intimidation meted out to them by Governor Godwin Obaseki to forcefully join the PDP.

The Councilors, most of whom were elected on the platform of the APC, dismissed claims of their defection allegedly sponsored in the media by Godwin Obaseki to portray false solidarity, while insisting that the Governor's performance since 2016 has neither inspired confidence nor provided motivation for them to join his defection.

The spokesperson for the group, Hon. Emwinghare Osabuohien of Ward 2, Egor Local Government Council, condemned their suspension which he deemed illegal and the refusal of the state government to pay their salaries over the expression of their constitutionally protected freedom to associate and maintain membership of a preferred political party. 

Other Councilors, including Hon. Okpamen Angela representing Ovia West, Hon. Kingsley Ogiri, and Hon. Godwin Ekhator, vowed to remain resolute in fighting for the victory of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and the All Progressives Congress at the polls on the 19th of September. 

According to them, the few Councilors who defected caved in to the pressure and intimidation of the State Government.

APC Women assure Ize-Iyamu of support


The Women Group of the All Progressives Congress, Edo State Chapter, has assured the governorship candidate of the party, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, of a resounding victory at the forthcoming election.

The leader of the group, Patricia Okoebor Benson, gave the assurance yesterday during the inauguration of the sub-committees of the APC Women Campaign Council for the Governorship Election in Benin.

Patricia Okoebor Benson said the inauguration of the sub-committees was done to intensify mobilization efforts of millions of Edo women who have already expressed the desire to elect Pastor Ize-Iyamu and is part of the strategies put in place to ensure a comprehensive victory for the party’s candidate.

She criticized the incumbent’s alleged maladministration and expressed confidence that the women of the state will turn out en masse on Election Day to sack the administration by voting the All Progressives Congress.

On her part, Rt. Hon. Elizabeth Uyinmwen Ativie who is the Director-General of the APC Women Campaign Council for the election, praised Ize-Iyamu’s respect for women and commitment to their inclusion and effective representation, while also expressing pride to be a part of the project to ensure his emergence as the governor of Edo State.

It is instructive to mention that when the Governor requested my daughter to work with his administration, *I obliged him even though the little allowance which was only sustained for 5 months and stopped*, had to be subsidized from my office and none thereafter. In a bid to reinforce my support for the Governor, I purchased a brand-new Toyota Hilux van to enable her discharge her responsibilities effectively on the project she was assigned. From then on, she has neither earned from Edo State Government nor does she owe the State one kobo to the best of my knowledge.

It is sad that Governor Obaseki has been paranoid about me even before he became governor, for reasons best known to him. I have since got to know that the disagreements between Comrade Oshiomhole and myself during his eight-year administration in Edo State were orchestrated from the background by Governor Obaseki who was at the time Chairman of that administration’s Economic and Strategy Team. But with patience, maturity and forgiveness from Oshiomhole and myself, we were able to, once again, rekindle the spirit of brotherhood and trust in our relationship.
