It’s not a problem. Your name will be different since you’re not the owner of the card.

When you pay with a dollar card (A US issued debit or credit card), approval is 24hrs (weekend excluded). I don’t know if Lagos is doing okay now, but Abuja used to approve the “pending request” stuff in 24h to 48hrs

Visa fee ($185) = 310,000

SEVIS FEE if you’re going on a student visa ($385) = 654,000

School application fee : if you apply to like 5 schools (that’s around $500) = 850,000

If the embassy says you are qualified pls don't disqualify yourself. I understand the logic that you want to facilitate your wife's f2 visa by appearing besides her but you cannot even talk on her behalf if both of you are facing the visa officer.

Why don't you scale through your own visa hurdle before focusing on your family visa ? It will not end well if her (poor) performances eventually affects your renewal.

Focus on your own and address why she was denied twice. You should raise a ticket if you want to proceed with your physical plan.

@Demolaxzy, don’t listen to this advise. There’s no way her performance gonna impact your visa renewal outcome. If you’re a continuing F-1 student, there’s no way the embassy is gonna jeopardise your return back to ur studies —it doesn’t happen. In a worst case scenario, they’re gonna renew your visa and deny her again if the VO feels they can’t give her a visa. I understand why you’d want to appear with her — two of my friends who had their wife’s F-2 denied two times each, booked a flight back and attended with their F-2, they were given. But sometimes they can still deny your F-2 even when you appear appear with them.

Now, I’m definitely certain you can resort to a physical interview even when you’re qualified for a waiver…what I’m not sure yet is if you can go with your IW letter in place of appointment confirmation letter. You can confirm from the embassy. All in all, the embassy is going to attend to you whether u choose the IW or you decided to go for the physical interview.

He is right but I'll do you one better.
1. Start by entering the wrong passport number and go to the MRV payment section.
2. Click on your name (check the screenshot if you're unsure where).
3. It should take you back to the form. Now, enter the correct passport number and proceed.
4. If you get the error (duplicate applicant), don’t worry—just close the tab.
Open "Pending Appointment" again, and now you should be able to proceed with the payment (you can click your name again to confirm the right passport number is there.

Still the same result. If you do this, your appointment letter still gonna come out with the wrong passport number. Nothing wrong..you can go for your appointment with that

Yes. Alternatively, you can create one for them in your own AVIT account by clicking on “create new” just beside your own “pending appointment request”

Her ammentum receipt reflects the correct passport number and I'm sure the passport number changed very recently.

We have raised a ticket but this very puzzling. Her interview is for Wednesday in Abuja and we are getting all her documents in order to prepare for the interview.

You fill a separate DS-160. Proceed to book an appointment separately as this is the new rule and find dates on the same day and go together.

Hello everyone. Please I am trying to help my brother with his interview appointment on AVITS website. Once I moved to the next step, I figured that I made a mistake so I canceled the form and I filled a new form. However, when I wanted to go to the next step, I was getting the error message that "Duplicate Applicant found for this user". I have raised support tickets, called AVITS support team, filled a new DS-160, tried to use another email address to open a new account but I keep getting the same error message each time. Has anyone else been in this situation? Please what do you advise? I will really appreciate your help. Thanks

AVIT cant help . They have no idea of what’s happening. This is what u do ; In the new profile, change the last digit of your passport number and proceed. It’ll allow you to proceed and book an appointment. Your appointment slip will come out with this new passport number (the one with the last digit changed), don’t fret, it’s okay, however, your DS-160 will bear the right Passport number, that’s what they’ll use to pull out ur details. Your appointment slip has no usefulness pass the AVIT security members who’ll check the slip and compare it with what they have on their system to be sure you have an appointment that day. After the security procedure, what matter is your DS-160 page , passport and i20 ( passport and i20 are the two documents the VO will collect from u)

If you don’t do this, you’ll keep getting “duplicate applicants……” even if you use 100 emails

No o. If you’re applying for a student visa, it’s a non immigrant visa. But if you’re petitioning for an immigrant visa, then a Medical need to be submitted

You’ll have to take both passport to the interview. It’s very important that you do that. This is a very normal thing amd it happen all the time. There’s no way to update DS-160 in the new avit. Take the last submitted DS-160 to the interview

So I got pre-approval request approved for the second profile for Abuja. There are no dates in Abuja, Lagos has January dates but of course, one can apply for expedited appointment after choosing a date. It’s the DS-160 that you give them at the embassy during interview that they’re gonna treat. There’s no way they’re going to treat a DS-160 that you don’t give to them that day. If u don’t tell them they’re not going to know. all the other DS-160 just stay somewhere in the system and u can access them anytime tol
