Ibime: Looks like African Playoffs will start 13th Nov and conclude 16th November so we are less than a month away
Also looks like its based on FIFA rankings so we will most likely face Gabon
If Cameroon overtake us in rankings which is slightly possible, then we will face DRC
It's impossible for rankings to change materially to avoid one of the two outcomes above.
Cameroon have a small chance of overtaking us in the rankings which will change our opponent from Gabon to DRC. Gabon cannot overtake DRC in the rankings, their gap is too wide and neither of them can overtake us or Cameroon.
So it's 80% likely to be Gabon and 20% likely to be DRC
I actually slightly fancy DRC to beat Cameroon given player quality differential is not too huge, and due to Central African rivalry so there's a chance we don't play Cameroon at all The Super Eagles will face Gabon in the first semifinal on November 13, in Morocco. If they win, they’ll meet Cameroon or DR Congo in the final on November 16, also in Morocco. The playoff winner will qualify for the Inter-Confederation Play-Offs in March 2026, joining: 🇧🇴 Bolivia (CONMEBOL – South America) 🇳🇨 New Caledonia (OFC – Oceania) One team from AFC (Asia) Two teams from CONCACAF (North & Central America) This stage will determine two final qualification spots for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. |

afrodoc2: We currently have 11 GF and 8 GA. Benin has 12 GF and 8 GA.
If we win them 1-0, we will both have 17 points. Furthermore:
We will both then have 3 points H2H. We will both have GD 0 in H2H games. We will both have 2 GF in H2H games. Then will both have GD of 4 in group games and GF of 12 in group games.
We will be tied in all the H2H criteria and in the general group criteria. You can input any single goal victory for us into this calculation, and it remains the same, even in all H2H criteria and all group criteria. It does not matter if it is 2-1 or 100-99.
We need to win by 2 goals and hope SA drops points in order to win the group. If we tie in all H2H criteria, make dem just give am to Benin based on alphabetical order. Na we know wetin we dey find go dey start the name of the country with the letter N. |

timbros: Is Mikel Obi correct here? I'm curious. What does that one know about footie? Screaming “outscore outscore” without a single sense of decorum. Enzo’s lead could have been protected if we had a good balance in midfield providing defensive aegis for the backline and a good backline who weren’t error prone. It’s a proven point that a good defense wins you trophies. |

Man brought back stepovers from 20 years ago. I thought Quaresma had reincarnated
But what I liked about him is his delivery was on point and quick You never see anything. The magician that brought street footie to Europe. He was a top player for Shakhter and I’m surprised only Fulham went for him. He’s just starting, mini-Ronaldinho Expect a big money move to a big club soon. |

airmark: Na them be this, enemy of Chelsea's progress. The same support cast that made us the World Champions. You can fvck off and join jakujaku Jackson at Bayern now since he will cook there. You’re quoting my take which supports the recruitment of a good support cast and not NECESSARILY a traditional No9. Is it that you don’t realize when you’re shooting yourself on the foot this old man? Where have the board channeled most of their budgets and time into? Who is the marquee big 9 they got as you’ve been phoolishly demanding for? The club’s plan was to upgrade what seems to be an ineffective attacking band. Jettison the deadwoods and get onboard exciting creative talents, a bidding myself and few knowledgeable others made last season, while you were busy being delusional and heaping blames on Jackson. The club can’t be delusional like you to believe that prime Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Ronaldo De Lima will tick in this team playing alongside Sancho, Madueke etc. |

timbros: I no know why clubs like deadline panic buy...
Fulham that have been silent all window. Panic buys are majorly informed by squad depth assessment and tactics assessment. If there were no Dastro, Jackson and Guiu under our ranks, we would have made a panic purchase following the injury to Delap. Then there is also favorable deal arrangement which only a panic buy can fetch. Think of it as “bazaar market”. Going going - Gone! |
