Being one of the world's richest and highest paid footballers has its advantages and one of them being able to buy yourself new rides. Members of the Super Eagles have lamented how they were shortchanged by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in the payment of their win bonus for a 2018 World Cup qualifier. The Eagles confirmed they received the bonus for the 3-1 home win over Algeria in November courtesy of a special government bailout but lament how they were not paid their $5,000-a-man entitlement. According to the players who spoke with Africanfootball.com, they received a million Naira each at the rate of 200 Naira even when a press statement by government clearly spelt out an official rate of 305 Naira to the US dollar. They received a total of 23 million Naira, when they should have been paid over 35 million, an excess of 12 million Naira. http://officialgsf9..com/2016/12/nff-accused-of-cheating-super-eagles.html Lalasticala, Seun

Aliko Dangote is one of the richest men in Africa who has repeatedly notified everyone of his interest in buying Arsenal Football Club of England. Buying Arsenal is not the issue but if he can be convinced of investing in the English side, he can also be convinced to invest in Nigeria football. Former Nigerian international Henry believes the major problem of lack of funds affecting Nigerian football can be solved if Africa's richest men can invest in it. If Aliko Dangote is interested to consider buying majority shares in English Premier League club, Arsenal FC, then he can be convinced to invest a fraction of his wealth in Nigeria football,” Nwosu told Vanguard Sports. The NFF has failed to meet several financial obligations to players and coaches of the national teams. Recently, players of the Super Falcons protested their unpaid wages following triumph at the Africa Women Cup of Nations tournament. Nwosu urged the NFF to reorganise its marketing department in order to attract Nigeria's richest like Aliko Dangote. Capital Oil boss Dr. Ifeany Ubah is a huge investor in Nigerian sports and owns FC Ifeanyi Ubah, current Federation Cup champions, who play in the Nigeria Professional Football League. The former Super Eagles man faulted the leadership of the NFF for the frequent lack of funds but however insisted that talking to the right people can help them address their financial shortcomings. Nwosu called on the FA to look beyond the Government for funding after it helped pay for the bonuses of the Super Eagles and Falcons. http://officialgsf9..com/2016/12/forget-arsenal-dangote-must-invest-in.html Cc: Lalasticala, Seun

FIFA has revealed it discovered "circumstances, which may indicate or lead to misuse of funds" which total $801,229 (N251,514,000m at bank rate of 314 naira to one dollar). The discovery was contained in the report on the 2015 review on the use of FIFA Development Funds which was carried out by audit firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). The report which was obtained by Sahara Reporters, FIFA said it detected that the sum of $801,229 was spent by the NFF without evidence supporting the disbursement. In review, FIFA said the use of FIFA Development Funds could not be traced to supporting documentation or the use aligned with FIFA-prescribed purposes) or other non-compliance with FIFA regulations. The report which is tagged was shared with Fatma Samoura, FIFA Secretary-General; Patricia Waldvogel, FIFA’s Head of Consolidation and Compliance; Kjetil Siem, acting Chief Member Association Officer; Fredric Guillemont, FIFA’s Deputy Head of Development Programmes. The NFF executives notified are Mr. Muhammed Sanusi, General Secretary, NFF; Mr. Emmanuel Ikpeme, Deputy General Secretary, NFF; Christopher Anderkin, NFF’s Deputy Director (Finance and Administration) David Mason, FIFA Senior Relationship Manager; and Richard Thomas, Engagement Leader, PwC were also notified. The review was conducted from August 16 to 18, 2015 and the PwC team, which carried out the review, contacted Messrs. Atabo and Aderibigbe of NFF for information on the use of the funds. FIFA says the NFF must make refunds for any amounts which could not be accounted for. NFF Deputy General Secretary, Mr. Ikpeme admitted the NFF got many things wrong but tried to give excuses for how the sum was spent. According to Mr. Ikpeme, the problem associated with payment for planning and administration was caused by the exchange rate. “As at the time of making the payment, the exchange rate at the parallel market crashed alarmingly. That accounts for the difference in the sum reported, but all supporting documents are attached to the voucher,” he responded. This comes as a new low after NFF vice-president Shehu Dikko claimed the governing body spends N200m in each match the Super Eagles play. Shehu also blamed the sports ministry for the failure to pay the Super Falcons before their protests made it possible. http://officialgsf4..com/2016/12/fifa-reveals-how-nff-mismanaged-n251m_36.html Cc: Seun, Lalasticlala
