Months back a story came out from Taraba where they burned the lips of a child. U had igbos commenting 'see it is not only Igbos' only to find out it was an Igbo living in Taraba.

Someone shared his experience with an Igbo neighbor on this very thread and surprisingly I have the exact same story. Growing up, we have this Igbo neighbor that both husband & wife maltreat a little girl by locking her up at the backyard constantly. As a child, I would wake up hearing her sob. Traumatizing! Even Nneka, the biracial musician & her brother wrote a book about their experience with the step mum.

There's something deeply troubling/sinister about this particular behaviour of IGBO maltreatment of kids that nobody is talking or even wants to acknowledge. They would rather gaslight into whataboutisms. Take a look at the first page & see how people try to paint this as an ALL Nigerian or ALL women thing!
