How did it go?

I eventually visited Prime Opticals in Benin City and the service quality there is good.
Thanks for the concern.

Good Day Brother.

Please could you kindly give me directions on how to locate the Eye Hospital at Ossiomo-Ogan.

Thanks and regards.

saintruky:

Yes se cannot go blind and wont go blind.

The Optometrist we met yesterday at Ossiomo-Ogan, said glaucoma cannot be operated.

With you stating that yours was operated and my google findings that its possible to operate glaucoma, though not to cure it, but to help manage it and save remaining vision. Permit me to ask where you had yours operated and the medications you are using.

Mind you cataract is sometimes mistaken for glaucoma.

God bless you for this wonderful insight. Please respond

Hello Madam.

Please could you kindly give me directions on how to locate the Specialist Eye Hospital in Ogan, Edo State.

Thanks and regards.

sorry its abit long sad
hello doctor,

my mum is in her 80s and having problems with her vision.

she says its all blurry and she can barely see.

she visited london in 2007 and the optician said she had cataracts, but my mum was too scared

to have surgery, she kept talking about all horror stories of pple going blind after cataracts operation.

seven years later, the thing has become worse and she now wants d surgery.

she has been to the specialist eye hospital in ogan, somewhere in edo state.

they keep giving her eye drops, no concrete diagnosis, no talk of a treatment.

dont know wat to do.

Travel / Re: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by Guest1: 2:59am On Jul 25, 2015

Hello Guest1,

That's a good question. Many people are issued non-immigrant visas each day who also have pending or closed immigrant petitions. As long as there weren't any accusations of fraud in your filing, this shouldn't be a problem. You will need to demonstrate, as you said is the case, that your domicile is in Nigeria and that your wife does not intend to abandon it.

Regards,
Abuja NIV Team

Thanks for your explanation.

Dear VO,

Thanks for the helpful explanations you offer on Nairaland. Please I need your advice in my situation:

I am a US citizen (by birth) but live and work in Nigeria. Last year my wife applied for a US tourist visa (B2) and scheduled her interview for April 14, 2014. I had a conference to attend in Canada with my wife in May 2014 and so she also applied for a Canadian visa on March 19, 2014. However, the Canadian embassy the not review her application till May 2, 2014 during which time her passport was held by the embassy. Unfortunately we did not reschedule the US visa interview early enough and so when we tried to do so, we got a message that the interview could no longer be rescheduled.

Now there is this other conference which my wife and I were to attend in July 2015 and so she reapplied for a non-immigrant visa (B1) and filled a new DS-160. Her interview was scheduled for January 21, 2015. Unknown to us, the system picked up the DS-160 for the visa application which she submitted last year. We discovered this on January 20, less than 24 hours to her interview on January 21. Again it was not possible to correct the error and she was denied the visa, most probably because the purpose of her trip (conference) was different from what was contained in the DS-160 linked to her application.
Being a US citizen, I decided to apply for an immigrant visa for my spouse. Somewhere along the process, it has become obvious that my wife would likely not be granted an immigrant visa since I am not domiciled in the US.

This where I need your advice - if my spouse applies for a non-immigrant visa in future, would the fact that I have filed an immigrant petition for her behalf prevent her from getting a visa? We just need a need visa that would enable her accompany me on trips because I do travel to the US from time to time.

Thanks in anticipation.
