Zoning is not a nonsense but it enthrones equity. In no does zoning encourage mediocrity because no group or zone has monopoly of knowledge. APGA was a broke party in Abia as at the time Alex Otti was decamping. Be the sole financier of the party, he was able to hand-pick his running mate who happens to come from the same federal constituency with him. Personally I don't see anything wrong with zoning. Rather, our selfish desires have made us not to embrace it. We should also note that leadership is all about team-work. Whether Ikpeazu or Otti becomes the next governor of Abia state, what determines the quality of leadership Abians will get is the quality of the team. BELIEVE THAT.

I am surprised that for a state as Abia that is backward in socio-economic and infrastructural development, you are canvassing zoning as a basis to support a candidate. Your argument should be for merit and competence. If you are telling the truth, then I find it interesting that both the governorship candidate and his running mate are from the same senatorial zone. If they win, it will once and for all show that all this zoning thing and balancing tickets based on ethnic or religious sentiments is ultimately, nonsense.

We want people that can deliver.

The social media is a place where opinions and ideas are exchanged and not where insults are traded. It's unfortunate that some people fail to read between the lines. I live in Abia and I'm not a politician. There no way one can describe the level of infrastructural decay in Abia and it becomes an exaggeration. The point here is this: why is everyone now shouting thief thief, kill him kill him. Alex Otti accompanied T.A.Orji to receive these awards. He never criticized the governor nor his style of administration, probably due to his political ambition or what he was benefiting from this government as MD of Diamond bank. There is no gainsaying that Diamond bank received more favours from Abia State government than any other bank. Anyone aspiring to govern this state must come out the way he is and not to hide under any mask. All the people now queuing behind Otti are the same people that helped institutionalize the type of leadership Abians have experienced. They have all changed camp because they no longer to the government house to share money. We know all of them. Where were they when the governor took the ticket for the senate seat, gave house of assembly ticket to his son and personally ordained a governorship candidate. The answer is simple. You can't eat your cake and have it. They all allowed their conscience to be bought with money. The only way Abia can transform is by criticizing those in authority (constructively) while they are in office and not when they are leaving or have left office. Between 1999 and 2007, OUK was acclaimed a performing governor. But the moment he left office in 2007, those his followers turned against him simply because there was a new dispensation. Since 2007 T.A. Orji has been acclaimed as one of the best performing governors which Alex Otti himself gave credence to this. Now TA is evil because he is leaving office and he has no more favours to grant them. We Abians should stop this attitude of people being relevant to us only when we can gain advantage from them. A new governor comes into office tomorrow and we start praise -singing and hand-clapping. This won't take us anywhere. We have the likes of Otti who happens to be one of T.A.Orji's best friend and worse still the state witnessed this level of rot. Let us not forget in a hurry the questions asked by Chief. Arthur Eze the last time he attended a public function in Umuahia. During T.A.Orji's active days as governor of Abia state, everyone kept sealed lips on issues bordering on under developing the state. Let us admit our shortcomings. Abia is a failed state because we failed in our responsibilities. We are all liable, and not TA alone. Let's learn how to call our leaders in office to other when they are not doing well and not to wait till they leave office.

Everyone should just shut up and hold their peace and stop talking what they know nothing about. T.A. Orji is the best award winning governor. He severally introduced Alex Otti as his personal friend during public functions. Moreover, Alex Otti graced most of the occasions T.A.Orji received these awards. Alex Otti is only antagonizing the governor simply because he refused to ordain him the next governor of Abia state. Lets face the truth. I personally see Alex as an overambitious personality who disclaimed his Arochukwu origin when he learnt that the PDP in Abia had zoned the governorship slot to Ukwa-Ngwa. He dumped the party when the zoning was restricted to Abia South senatorial zone. It is on record that Alex Otti and his running -mate are both from Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal constituency. Is this fair. Does this comply with the principle of equity. He is simply trying to cunningly obtain what doesn't belong to him and his Arochukwu kinsmen. Abians can't be fooled. Alex Otti is not from Isiala Ngwa as he claims. If he doesn't believe in power rotation, why is he making a frivolous claim simply because power has been zoned to an area. He should stop fooling himself because he can't fool Abians. We know his antics and antecedents because we don't forget in hurry.

I wonder how we forget in a hurry. This same Obj up till now has not been able to tell Nigerians the whereabout of N16 billion purportedly spent on the power sector during his tenure. He was the one that institutionalized corruption and made it core value in Nigeria. It's on record that Obj once told his newly appointed Special Advisers that he wasn't duty bound to accept their advice. Then, why is he calling for President Jonathan's head for not accepting his advice. I believe that Obj is the worst hypocrite this country has ever produced. He made sure that the National Assembly members that opposed his third term ambition never returned to the assembly. President Goodluck Jonathan inherited insurgency from the Obasanjo administration. Why didn't Obasanjo nip insurgency on the bud when it was at its primary stage. I think it's time for Obj to shut up so that he will have some respect left. Nigerians are tired of his rantings. He is corruption personified and is not even qualified to be an elder statesman.

I wonder how we forget in a hurry. It was Obj that instituted Nigeria's democracy on the platform of corruption when he said that his political appointees were called to come and chop. After his third term bid failed and he left office, Obj has been a confused personality, an antagonist and a double-speaker. The rate our politicians profane against the revered office of the President is most unfortunate. I think that Obj should maintain being an elder statesman and allow Nigerians choose their leader. He should remember that the N66billion census fund during his administration is still unaccounted for. May the soul of Afolabi his then interior minister rest in peace.
