I'm not trying to run down anyone. One thing we must understand is that most times people are not the saints they claim to be. For almost 8 years running, Diamond bank has been the custodian of all funds accruing to the state from the federation account. If there is massive looting the bank can't exonerate itself. This is a bank Alex Otti served as MD. The question is, why did he turn a blind eye when all these were going on. He has some explanations to give to Abians on this matter because it takes two to tango. Why did he allow his bank to be used to shortchange the state if he's really a patriot
.That's why the Igbo adage says that when you see a fowl scattering feces with it's legs, drive it away because you may be the one to eat that leg.

I live in Abia and I'm not a politician. There no way one can describe the level of infrastructural decay in Abia and it becomes an exaggeration. The point here is this: why is everyone now shouting thief thief, kill him kill him. Alex Otti accompanied T.A.Orji to receive these awards. He never criticized the governor nor his style of administration, probably due to his political ambition or what he was benefiting from this government as MD of Diamond bank. There is no gainsaying that Diamond bank received more favours from Abia State government than any other bank. Anyone aspiring to govern this state must come out the way he is and not to hide under any mask. All the people now queuing behind Otti are the same people that helped institutionalize the type of leadership Abians have experienced. They have all changed camp because they no longer to the government house to share money. We know all of them. Where were they when the governor took the ticket for the senate seat, gave house of assembly ticket to his son and personally ordained a governorship candidate. The answer is simple. You can't eat your cake and have it. They all allowed their conscience to be bought with money. The only way Abia can transform is by criticizing those in authority (constructively) while they are in office and not when they are leaving or have left office. Between 1999 and 2007, OUK was acclaimed a performing governor. But the moment he left office in 2007, those his followers turned against him simply because there was a new dispensation. Since 2007 T.A. Orji has been acclaimed as one of the best performing governors which Alex Otti himself gave credence to this. Now TA is evil because he is leaving office and he has no more favours to grant them. We Abians should stop this attitude of people being relevant to us only when we can gain advantage from them. A new governor comes into office tomorrow and we start praise -singing and hand-clapping. This won't take us anywhere. We have the likes of Otti who happens to be one of T.A.Orji's best friend and worse still the state witnessed this level of rot. Let us not forget in a hurry the questions asked by Chief. Arthur Eze the last time he attended a public function in Umuahia. During T.A.Orji's active days as governor of Abia state, everyone kept sealed lips on issues bordering on under developing the state. Let us admit our shortcomings. Abia is a failed state because we failed in our responsibilities. We are all liable, and not TA alone. Let's learn how to call our leaders in office to other when they are not doing well and not to wait till they leave office.
