Afenifere, an extinct group was once an identity for the Yorubas, but it died long before the death of Bola Ige and its carcass was interred with Abraham Adesanya.

Why should gerontocrats in their 70's and 80's be the ones to chart a new course for the Yoruba nation? These are men who in their late 20's and 30's already made a name for themselves because of the good vision of Awo, yet they have refused to make any meaningful impact on the lives of an ordinary Yorubaman other than mouthing platitudes about Awoism. The same 'old order' who mortgaged the future of the Yoruba nation by their unholy alliance with OBJ. If the Yoruba nation will be represented at the proposed conference, they shall be chosen on the basis of social forces/class identity and between the ages of 20 and 55, and not some self-serving ethnic associations made up of the old guard who have arrogated an illusionary power/authority to themselves or our thieving politicians. We still have Yorubas of high moral standing, we can no longer be fo0led by the 'Akuko Gagaras'.
