Everybody's dream is to go to a university or to find their selves in the walls of a university without knowing the important things to do so as not to become an "half baked graduate" I therefore decided to write some few notes down for my fellow Nigerian student and to all undergraduate students out there to know and to put to practice and abide by it. 1. KNOW YOURSELF: Knowing one’s self is not limited to your name alone. You must discover who you truly are. Your strong points and weaknesses; 2. EXPERIENCE COUNTS: During holidays, break, even weekends, it is advisable to take up holiday or part time jobs, even, voluntary jobs, jobs. This will give you to required experience when you eventually go into labour; 3. KEEP LEARNING: Learning is not limited to lectures from your field of specialty of course at the University or Polytechnic. You are to learn soft skills; 4. MONEY MATTERS: Money is very key to everything you do. This will help to support one in achieving one’s dream. Be it schooling or learning vocational skills; 5. COMMUNICATION: Good communication skills is very essential in today’s competitive World. Learn to talk to people in the manner they are not offended. The ability to communicate clearly and to work wellteam setting is critical to a sustained and successful employability. Do not abbreviate when you write letters and memos. Learn to communicate in simple English. No ambiguity, it helps a great deal to work effectively in a team; 6. HANDLING FAILURE: “I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career as a basket ball player. I have lost almost 300 games. 26 times I have been trusted to take the game’s winning shot and missed. I have failed over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeeded”. MICHAEL JORDAN American Basket Ball Legend Failure is not the end of the World, it means you have to work harder. No one is perfect, learn from that experience; 7. BE SOCIAL-WISE: 60% of employers now turn to social networks to research for job applicant, so, be weary of the posts, pictures and what you do on the social media. Your potential employers and business partners could be watching. Avoid anything extreme. You could post birthday, wedding, picnics pictures etc; 8. PEOPLE SKILLS: Interpersonal skills can be the difference between undergraduate Days and when you get employed. You need these skills; 9. PRESENTING YOURSELF: You never get a second chance to make a great first impression. People will treat you the way they see you. It is important how you present yourself. It is always good to put your best forward. Dress decently, look neat and comport yourself all the time. 10. ATTITUDE: Your attitude determines how successful you can be. Your Attitude determines your altitude. http://www.guru9ja.com/2016/09/ten-10-things-to-know-before-graduating.html

Students are scared when checking their results in order not to be a victim of carry over grade which apart from the burden they will bear for the next level, insult from their juniors is enough to ruin their reputation. It is however obvious to spot them in campus which is the aim of this article and let's take a look on ways to identify such students. Insult lecturers on regular basis Carry over students view both good and bad lecturers as enemies by abusing and bashing them from all angles. Most times they are the ones who sit at the back of auditorium during lecture period causing distraction and blaming lecturers for their misfortunes. Struggled and stressed looks This feature is obvious when you see carry over students. Owing to the fact that life is not fair to them on campus, they look worried and tattered due to too much thinking, long lectures period and less sleeping hours. Violence flow in their blood The life of a carry over student is so frustrating that anything can steer up anger in their life. Due to the precipitated bitterness in their blood, they become captain during "aluta protest" along side with their bedevilled colleagues. Unfriendly attitude Larger percentage of carry over students possess introvert attitude that makes it difficult for them to socialise. Suggesting any form of entertainment to cool their nerves is like mission impossible for them. Single relationship status It's difficult to see a carry over student in a relationship which is more synonymous to guys. If eventually he steps up his game to woo a lady, she will ridicule, condemn and bash the hell out of his life. Bond with efikos and giraffe at exam hall This is very common at exam hall as carry over students form covalent bond with intelligent students to save them from academic embarrassment. Also they frequently giraffe during exam using angle of depression mechanism. Hand outs are always littered in their rooms The room of carry over students can be likened to the dust bin at ojota in lagos. Because of the bulk of courses they offered per semester, various hand outs are always littered on their bed, wardrobe, floor, kitchen and even toilet if care is not taken. Disgusting outfits and terrible body odour Some carry over students always look un kept with bad body odour and funny outfits since they care less about their well being. Also, they hardly make their hairs, shave and sometimes skip brushing their mouth. More: http://www.guru9ja.com/2015/09/eight-8-ways-to-identify-carry-over.html |

According to our report, lateness in the release of NYSC batch B time table is due to the previous delay in Batch A 2016 change of Timetable. The most important news about NYSC batch B 2016 is that the Mobilization and Senate list verification will start July 2016, online registration will be around August 2016, while orientation camp will hold September 2016. Even though the news about the NYSC batch B mobilization have not been made public as more light will be thrown on it later, the NYSC Batch B 2016 camping may even come closer considering the fact that NYSC will still want to hold 3 batches this year 2016. more:http://www.guru9ja.com/2016/08/nysc-batch-b-timetable-2016-to-be.html |

External candidate (I mean candidate applying for admission with OND,NCE and HND certificate into 200Level of any Nigeria university). Now lets see the reasons. 1 FG disclose to all Nigerian Universities that the admission quote will be based on 80% to 20% meanimg that 80% goes to UTME and 20% goes to Direct entry (DE) Candidate. 2. Contrary to the pronouncement of admission quota by FG and JAMB, the 20% stipulated for DE candidate will only go to the JUPEB and IJMB candidate of the said universities. So many wise candidate applied for IJMB and JUPEB programme of any university of their choice. That means this are the set of candidate getting the 20% Direct entry (DE) admission slot into 200L. 3. Almost all the state and federal universities in Nigeria are conducting either IJMB or JUPEB programme. Lets Know the list of universities selling IJMB and JUPEB application Form Osun State University: IJMB University of Benin (UNIBEN): JUPEB Lagos state University (LASU): JUPEB or Foundation Programme University of Lagos (UNILAG): JUPEB or foundation programme Federal University of Agriculture (FUNAAB): JUPEB Obafemi Awolowo Universitry(OAU): JUPEB University of Nigeria (UNN): JUPEB Federal University of Technology (FUTA):JUPEB Kwara State University (KWASU):JUPEB and so on..... The secret is the list of aforementioned universities are giving their 20% admission slot to candidates that applied for their JUPEB or IJMB programme. Then what will external DE candidates applying with (OND,HND and NCE) do. So many external DE candidates(OND,HND,NCE) dream of going into the university will be shattered. What is the best Alternative for External DE Candidate to get a degree from a university The best alternative for candidate applying with OND,HND,NCE into 200level is to obtain a part-time form from any university accredited to sell part time degree form. NUC monitors all accredited universities selling part time DE form. You don’t have to worry about the certificate because PART-TIME will not appear on the certificate. Both Full-time students and Part-time are collecting the same certificate Read more>>http://www.guru9ja.com/2016/07/reasons-why-external-de-candidate-may.html |

As we all know that Jamb announces its cut off mark for this year UTME as 180 ( Both University, Polytechnic and Colleges of Education as 180)This information is for candidate who failed to surpass the general 180 cut-off mark. The question now is ,What is the way forward and how can you secure Admission with a score less than 180? As it stands, the cut off mark will not change and there is need to look at other Academic area for Admission. 5 others Ways you can use to Secure Admission 1. Part Time Programme: Students don't know that the best alternative into getting your degree certificate is for them to enroll for any university part-time programme. Both university, polytechnic and college of education run part-time and distance learning programme and admission tends too easy due to the infinite admission quota enjoyed by part time schooling. 95% of all candidates that applied will be considered for Admission, however part time student will not be able to partake in the NYSC programme. Advantages of Part time Programme You won't go for NYSC but you will be given NYSC letter of exemption( Having a NYSC letter of exemption is same as having a NYSC certificate. you are just only excepted from going for it. Its cool) and in some other univeristies, their part time student go for NYSC. You can try that of Osun state University. Its the best. 2) Enroll for Pre-degree: Most Nigerian universities run pre degree programme and the requirement for pre degree is just your o level result and the candidates must also apply for the forthcoming Jamb examination. 3) IJMB: IJMB is another easiest way to secure admission into 200 level without jamb and post utme. IJMB is an Advance A level programme for admission into Nigeria university. The programme will run for only 9 months and the candidate can secure admission to 200 level. Ijmb registration is still in progress and the requirement for ijmb is just your O level result. 4) University Diploma: some Nigerian universities offer 2 years diploma programme and after the diploma you can apply for Hnd or direct entry into the institution. As most government owned universities begin this year with full resumption for the 2015/2016 academic session and some universities still crawling behind, we bring to you the Government owned University with the fastest academic calendar for the year 2016. 1. Kwara State University: Kwara state University (kwasu) still stand as the number one university with the fastest academic calendar. It was number one in 2015 and still remains number one still date. Delta State University: Resumption was on the 9th of November and First semester examination is expected to begin on the 15th of February 2016. 6.
