Sighs..
TNW spotted an interesting update on Facebook.
It seems that Facebook intends to integrate a Whatsapp button into the Facebook app.
This button would act as a shortcut button so you don’t have to leave Facebook to use Whatsapp.
Quite convenient for those who use the app.
It has started rolling out to Denmark users and no word on when this would be available to all.
What do you think?
Yay or quite unnecessary?

talk2ekpa: I need advice please!
I'll rate myself as a high network data user. But I have a monthly data budget of 5k. Now the problem is:
1. Glo would have been my best option, cos with 5k, I should be able to get up to 18 or 20GB. But the Glo 3G network in my area is at zero level, especially in my room.
2. MTN is OK. But with 5k, I only get 10GB, which never last me up to a month no matter how hard I try.
Please any advice or help on this two issues will be greatly appreciated. You beta go for MTN becos with 5k you will get 20GB on MTN if only you activate d double data offer. Send DOUBLE to 131 PROMO to 131 FREE to 131 That's all. Any data u purchase you will given twice of it. That means with 5k you will be given 20GB for 1month on MTN. |

Phones › How To Browse When Your MTN Data Signal Doesn't Show Up by Gurusizkid(op): 7:43pm On Sep 22, 2017 |
Have you ever tried to browse on your MTN line and when you turn ON your data connection, there is no network signal (MTN data signal) to make you browse? Network signals are G, 2G, H+, 4G etc. These are needed for you to be able to browse. Today, I'll show you two ways to fix it.
Contents
1. The Sms Method 2. Alternative Method
The Sms Method You can fix this by sending DATARESET to 131. You'll get two response your data will turn ON.
Alternative Method Go to phone settings Press More Open Mobile Networks Press Cellular data (if available) Change Preferred Network Type to 2G,
cos if after sending the sms according to the first method, the issue is still there, its because 2G network is what is available and 3G network isn't.
These are the ways to fix the problem!

Phones › Re: The Cheapest MTN Tariff Plan For September, 2017 by Gurusizkid(m): 3:12pm On Sep 20, 2017 |
olulekan1992: Let us take time to figure out the cheapest plan among all MTN Tariff plans that are available. All of them will be analysed based on their call charges so as to point out the cheapest of all. Migration code will be provided for each tariff plan starting from, MTN ExtraPro, MTN XtraSpecial, MTN BetaTalk, MTN TruTalk+, MTN Pulse, MTN Zone, MTN SuperSaver PLUS.
Let us take them as they are arranged on the list. MTN XtraPro.
On MTN Xtra Pro, any call made on the line will be charged 11k/sec but the first second of the day will be charged N5. This indicates that after your first second of the day that will deduct N5, you will with 11kobo per 1 second for the rest of the day.
This plan allows you to call all network with that rate once your call line has paid the assess fee that will be deducted immediately the first person you call that day pick up your call.
If that rate is calculated, every minute equals N6.60.
In other hand, if your account balance is that low that you cannot pay the N5 access fee, your each second will charge you 20kobo only, which equals N12 per minute. I think that one is impossible under MTN Extra Pro because if your line is low that cannot pay the fee, that directly shows that your balance is below N5 and there is no way your call with less than the amount can last for a minute. Haba!
Let us try to analysis the call rate.
Assuming you have determined to spend N100 to call in a day, for how many minutes will you call using MTN Xtra Pro tariff plan?
Let us do it:
>>After your Daily Access Fee that will deducted N5.00, you have N95.00 left.
>> N0.11kobo X 60 seconds = N6.6k
>> 95 divided by 6.6 = 14.39 which indicate 14 minutes, 39 seconds.
>>Then, with N100 recharge card, you will get N95/N6.6 14 minutes 39 seconds.
How to Migrate to MTN ExtraPro Method 1: simply finger *401# and select 1 migrate to MTN Extra Pro. Method 2: simply text 401 to 131. Method 3: finger *123#, select Tariff plan migration in the listed options and end up selecting your target plan.

Phones › Re: NCC Laments Poor Quality Of Data Services by Gurusizkid(m): 8:49am On Sep 20, 2017 |
seegi: THE Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta is miffed that subscribers are fleeced by the operators in terms of the quality of data services on offer, demanding that more value should be given for money spent on data.
https://img.naijamouthed.ng/hsi/aHR0cHM6Ly9jZG4udmFuZ3VhcmRuZ3IuY29tL3dwLWNvbnRlbnQvdXBsb2Fkcy8yMDE1LzA4L2RhdGEtZGlnaXRhLmdpZg/images/data-digita.gif
Danbatta who spoke in an interview with one of the nation’s television networks, promised that government would look for a way of assisting network providers to ensure adequate infrastructure that would aid robust internet and improve data services. He said, “Data is becoming a major issue and infrastructure for data is a major headache in Nigeria. To ensure that we enjoy what we pay for, there is need for more infrastructure deployment.
“The statistics we have supports the claim that voice subscription has dropped to 148m (10%). But the data subscription is going up. One will expect the telecom companies to make more money from mobile voice services and SMS. But consumers are very clever, migrating from high tariff and poor voice services and SMS to data services.
“Unfortunately, the data services enable subscribers enjoy voice services like Whatsapp and so on. We are in a situation where we need value for money. There is an argument that with the infrastructure, the telcos will invest more here but what is happening in the social media space indicate that we need more infrastructure to optimize data services. We are concerned that until something is done by providing more infrastructure capacity, the data services will encounter more problems.”
On quality of internet service, he said the current poor quality of internet services was unacceptable and lamented the challenges the telcos are contending with. “I am not satisfied with the speed of internet experienced today. The speed in the national broadband says 1.5 mega Hz per second. In places like Lagos, you may get higher speed, Kano you hardly get 500 kbits, which is too small. The disadvantage of having very slow speed of internet is that you can’t do so many things. Like I said, although we are contending with a lot of network challenges, the network operators should give value for money,” he added.
