Sometimes you have to let go of some things to gain others, sometimes you have to shift grounds. We don't have to be rigid when it comes to issues like this. This dignity or ego you are trying to protect will eventually be destroyed if everybody goes this way; if he doesn't trust you, your dignity to him, i bet you is not 100%. One thing that makes you hold the other person in high esteem is trust. Saying no and holding on to it suggests to the natural man that there are things you don't want him to know; this is the first thing that will come to the mind of the natural man, even you. In today's world, you don't just trust anybody anyhow. Adam trusted Eve, Samson trusted Delilah; you know what happened to both men. Don't just view it from one perspetive, try and view it from the other person's perspetive.
