Career / FG Wants To Regulate IT Profession by guydoescode(m): 11:49am On Apr 28
So i read on Punch that the FG wants to regulate the practice of IT in the country.

I summarised the article below but do you support this initiative and do you think this would elevate the integrity of IT profession?

The Federal Government, through the Minister of State for Education, Yusuf Sununu, has announced measures to regulate the practice of information technology (IT) in Nigeria.

This involves enforcing registration requirements set by the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) to ensure that only qualified professionals engage in the field. The CPN is tasked with identifying and prosecuting unregistered IT practitioners.

Sununu emphasized the importance of professionalism and standards in the IT sector and warned of legal consequences for those practicing without proper registration.

He commended the CPN's efforts and stressed the necessity of mandatory registration for all IT practitioners in the country to maintain standards and eliminate quackery from the profession.

Checked out the app and I must say, the interface looks sleek! Even though I didn't register as I'm not currently into crypto or interested in having an account, it seems like a well-designed platform. Kudos on the development.
Programming / Re: Is Frontend Development Truly Saturated? by guydoescode(m): 11:08am On Apr 22
I just came across this and had to drop my own take. The notion of frontend development being saturated can be a bit nuanced. While it's true that there is a high demand for frontend developers, it's also true that there are many individuals entering the field, which can make competition fierce. However, this doesn't necessarily mean you should abandon your pursuit of becoming a frontend developer.

If you're passionate about frontend development and enjoy the work, then it's worth continuing to pursue it while also considering ways to differentiate yourself and stay competitive in the field.

IT is done already!

You coming in late, and market already saturated. You will have to game with ridiculous offers which is not worth it.

Think AI

Thanks for sharing your perspective! While it's may be true that I'm 'coming in late', I firmly believe that opportunities abound for those who are passionate and dedicated. Even if the market seems saturated, pursuing what I love brings its own rewards.

If, by some chance, this endeavor doesn't turn out to be as financially lucrative as I hope it will be. I'll still have no regrets. For me, success isn't just about the bottom line—it's about pursuing my passion, living a life that's true to myself, pushing boundaries, and constantly growing.

Plus, I'm already exploring AI and integrating it into my work, so I'm excited about the possibilities ahead and I'm committed to making the most of every opportunity.

Embracing a Fresh Perspective

Fast forward to today, and I’m proud to say that I’m still finding my place in the tech world. Currently, I’m in a bootcamp learning to become a full stack software engineer. Sure, there were challenges along the way — moments of doubt, setbacks, and imposter syndrome — there would still be even more to face ahead but they would only make the journey sweeter. I’ve traded in my fears and doubts for lines of code and made sacrifices, and I’ve never been happier.

Final Thoughts

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from this experience, it’s that sometimes you have to trust your instincts, even when they lead you off the beaten path. Life is too short to spend it chasing someone else’s idea of success. So, if you’re standing at a crossroads, feeling torn between what you should do and what you want to do, take a chance. Who knows? It might just lead you to exactly where you’re meant to be.

Here’s to embracing uncertainty, chasing dreams, and forging your own path.

Cheers

Embracing the Unknown

So, I took a leap of faith and dove headfirst full time into the world of coding, joined a bootcamp, and online tutorials. It was surely exhilarating and terrifying all at once for me, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Every line of code I wrote, every new concept I grasped, felt like a step closer to finding my true calling. Coding feels like therapy for me.

The Moment of Clarity

Then, amidst the confusion and uncertainty, it hit me like a bolt of lightning: I needed to follow my passion for tech, something I have been invested in since way back in junior secondary school. Sure, it was a risky move. I had no formal training in software engineering, just some basic knowledge of coding I have been able to gather all these years and absolutely no roadmap for success. But I knew in my gut that it was the right path for me.

Lost and Confused

There were days when I felt utterly lost, unsure of what my next move should be. The logical choice would have been to stick with mechanical engineering, but deep down, I knew that path wouldn’t lead to fulfillment or happiness for me. It was like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole — it just wasn’t going to work. I might put a smile on my face and pretend or make it look like it’s working but then, it won’t now, and even on the long run, it won’t later.

A Critical Decision Point

Picture this: I’m fresh out of university, and ‘barely survived’ with a degree in mechanical engineering. According to all the textbooks and societal norms, I’m supposed to dive headfirst into a promising career in this field or try furthering my education with masters and all that. But here’s the thing — I couldn’t shake off this nagging feeling that I was heading in the wrong direction.

Greetings,

I’ve got a story to tell, one that’s a bit unconventional but entirely my own. This post isn’t just about sharing my journey — it’s also a documentation of the pivotal moments that led me to where I am today. And I hope that in the future, I’ll be able to look back on these words with no regrets.

Both provide core features like website, domain, email, and database management, but Plesk offers a broader array of additional features, like Git integration and more extensive customization options.

I feel like the "better" option depends on your individual preferences, familiarity with the control panel, hosting environment, and the specific features you need for your projects. It would be a good idea to see which one aligns better with your workflow and requirements.

DabinHsu:
sad Where can I learn it?

If you are based in states like Lagos and Abuja, there is a lot of bootcamp like Gomycode that offer various courses for anyone transitioning into tech, whether you have a tech background or not from courses like Software Development to Data Science, Cybersecurity, UI/UX Design and Marketing.

Meanwhile, bootcamps are not compulsory too if you don't have the money, you can learn online. There are different resources online you can access for free to gain background knowledge in tech.

There are dedicated platforms like Codecademy, The Odin Project e.t.c that offers free courses in coding. You can even use platform like Google and YouTube to learn. For example go on YouTube and search 'HTML for beginner', you would see a lot of videos you can learn from.

I personally prefer physical bootcamp to online because there is nothing like learning face to face. I would learn faster that way but that is just me, i have learned a lot of things online too, like way more things in fact. I did a mix of both. In this field, you learn everyday and it's mostly on your own.

Programming / Unleashing The Potential Of Artificial Intelligence With Web Development by guydoescode(m): 8:41am On Apr 07
The web development landscape is undergoing a crazy amount of transformation, fueled by the ever-evolving power of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this ever-growing and rapidly-developing digital world, exciting things are happening but for now, lets focus on developers and artificial intelligence teaming up to make better and even more smart web apps.

AI is rapidly becoming an indispensable tool for developers, unlocking a new era of intelligent and interactive web experiences. I personally see AI as like having a super-smart assistant that learns from how you use the internet and gives you exactly what you need.

AI helps websites understand what people like and don’t like. It’s like having a friend who knows your favorite things and can suggest new stuff you’ll love. This makes the internet feel more personal and fun.

AI’s influence can be felt across various aspects of web development like: Enhanced Personalization, Smarter Automation, Revolutionizing User Interfaces (UI), AI-powered Content Creation and Next-Level Accessibility.

In the future, the potential of AI in web development is vast and constantly evolving. We would see AI-powered Design Assistants that can that can collaborate with designers, suggesting layouts, color schemes, and even generating initial design mockups based on user preferences or AI that could personalize websites to an unprecedented degree, tailoring content, functionality, and even the overall aesthetic to each individual user.

In the future, there would even be Smarter Security Systems, imagine a world where AI can be used to detect and prevent cyberattacks in real-time, making websites more secure and protecting user data.

But with all this power comes some challenges. While AI presents immense opportunities, there are challenges to consider like Ethical Concerns, Explainability of AI and of course, The Human Touch. I mean AI should not replace human creativity and expertise in web development. Instead, it should be seen as a powerful tool that can augment human capabilities.

The future of web development is undeniably intertwined with AI. By embracing this powerful technology, developers can create intelligent, personalized, and engaging web experiences that redefine the way users interact with the web. As AI continues to evolve, the possibilities for web development are truly limitless.
