Imagine, I've been confirmed to unlock my bootloader all along without even knowing. Here I was complaining when the answers to my complaints were staring at me in the face, all I needed was just to READ! Smh

But uhm, heed to Oga Gptech and Oga GrandMufti 's advice of reapplying for unlock permission.
This time be more elaborate on your reasons to unlock. Also make sure your SIM can receive verification codes from Xiaomi (that's if you're using MTN).
If you need more information, kindly refer to Oga jboixxx 's signature.

I don't think the sim is the culprit because I've gone past the verification/OTP-code-receiving part of the application process, now it's the confirmation for me to proceed to using miflash tool.

I think I'll reapply with a better reason this time. I thought being honest and brief would cut me deal, obviously I was wrong. Make I prepare plenty lies weh I go dish dem this time.

Hahahahahahahaha, no confusion, just speaking from experience, had my Redmi note 4x rooted some months back, saw different methods,bricked phone more than 5 times before trying the lazy flasher ish. What I gathered was that some persons were able to flash supersu without needing lazy flasher before a particular version of miui 8 was released.

But I saw 2 checkboxes for "keep force encryption" and "keep dm-verity" respectively in Advanced settings of that Magisk manager pic posted by Dmedalion. Seems there's a way to get past android/xiaomi security checks in Magisk.

(Guide) How To Flash TWRP Recovery And Root Your Xiaomi Device With SuperSU.

Before you get here, you must have your phone's Bootloader Unlocked. If you haven't, kindly refer to the link on my signature.

Download the latest SuperSu zip file for Xiaomi Devices.

Now, the steps:

First and foremost, grab your PC. Your device must be recognized. Be sure you have Xiaomi USB Drivers properly installed in your PC,

OEM Unlock and USB Debugging activated in your phone ( Settings-About Device-MIUI Version-Tap Continuously for about 7times to enable Developer Options-Locate Additional Settings-Developer Options-Activate OEM Unlocking-Activate USB Debugging)

Download the latest TWRP Recovery for your Xiaomi Device. The latest version is TWRP 3.1.0-0.

NOTE: Download the exact TWRP Recovery 3.1.0-0 for your Xiaomi Device. Failure to do this, will lead to bricking your device.

Rename the downloaded file to 'recovery.img' without the perentessis.

Move the recovery.img to the same file where the ADB was installed in your PC. ( It should be on Computer-> C: -> Adb )

Open the ADB folder

Press and hold the shift key and right click in the folder

Click on the option "Open Command Window Here"

Boot your device on fastboot mode by turning it off, pressing Power and the Volume Down buttons together, and then connect it with an original USB Cord to your PC.

First type this command "fastboot devices" to check if your device is into fastboot mode

Enter the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"

Enter the command "fastboot boot recovery.img"

Your phone is now in TWRP recovery mode.

In Recovery, Select Install and scroll to where the downloaded 'SuperSu.zip' is in your phone.

Confirm by swiping right to flash.

Reboot your device

Don't be scared if your device bootloops or doesn't boot immediately. Most times it needs 15 to 30 seconds to boot completely.

Now, you have successfully Flashed TWRP Recovery And Rooted Your Xiaomi With SuperSU.

Your guide didn't advice flashing lazy flasher afterwards Or its not important?

First and foremost, we all should understand what it means to unlock your phone's Bootloader.
You lose your phone's warranty. Also, you will lose the "Find Device" feature on your device. Yes, you read right...
So if you can be able to deal with the loss of those 'two', then you can go ahead to unlock your device.

PROCEDURE 1

By now you must have a MI account, if you don't, create one and login on your device.

Activate "locate service", set your region in additional settings and sync it one time in mi cloud.

Login your account on MI forum . YOUR ACCOUNT USERNAME IN YOUR PHONE MUST MATCH THE ONE IN THE MI FORUM.

Grab your PC.

Download and install any VPN on your PC (I always use OPERA or FLYVPN).

Change your location to any (In my case, I used SHANGHAI).

Now go to http://en.miui.com/unlock/

Tap UNLOCK NOW.

Apply by giving reasons you need to unlock your phone's Bootloader.

Again, YOUR ACCOUNT USERNAME IN YOUR PHONE MUST MATCH THE ONE IN THE MI FORUM.
Tap on APPLY NOW.

After that, a confirmation SMS with a verification code will be sent to the phone number used in registering your MI account which you must've also typed on the application page.

After typing in the verification code sent to you from Xiaomi via SMS on the application page, you'll get a notification stating that your application was successfully submitted.

Next, you'll have to wait for another confirmation SMS stating that you've been granted PERMISSION to Unlock your phone's Bootloader.

For some, it took less than 5mins. Some 3-5days. But once you get the PERMISSION, you'll have to wait for at least 5days for Xiaomi to update their database before you get to Unlock your device using the MiFlash Unlock Tool.

PROCEDURE 2

By now, you must have received the SMS confirmation from Xiaomi granting to unlock the bootloader.

Enable Developer options. To do so, Go to Settings > About phone, and then tap ‘Build number’ 7 – 8 times for Developers options to appear.

Under Settings → Additional Settings→ Developer option and bind your approved Mi account under Mi Unlock Status.

Also enable OEM UNLOCKING and USB DEBUGGING.

Log into the Mi account which has acquired unlocking permission on your device.

Download the MiFlash Unlock Tool on your PC. (I downloaded Miflash_Unlock-En-2.2.406.5

Now reboot your device in bootloader mode.

Turn off your device, press the Power button and Volume Down (-) button at the same time to enter into bootloader mode.

On your PC with a steady strong network, Open Mi Flash Unlock tool.
Login with the same Mi account you used in your Xiaomi device.

Connect the device with the PC using the USB cable.

Now press the “Unlock” button. It will take 10-15 seconds for the process to complete.

Now you have successfully unlocked your Bootloader.

NOTE:
Do not proceed in a hurry. Read each step carefully.

How do you get past the Chinese writeups? I was able to get the OTP code from Xiaomi, on trying to submit it, I was getting some pop up messages in Chinese. Had to quit the all whole thing.

Face Recognition security feature. It's using the front facing camera to unlock your device. I read about it on miuipro.by, I think it's on MIUIPRO 7.10.26.
