Good day house, I have Bsc in microbiology plus 2 years work experience (1yr as an adminstrator in a hospital and 1 yr as a teacher during my NYSC). I'm considering going for an MBA at UAE. I'd like to know if that's a right move, with regards to getting a good job over there upon graduation. Thanks |
Environmental management or food science* |
Hello house! I read microbiology and intended going for masters of public health, but was was adviced to go for nursing. To be honest I'd prefer another option besides nursing. I'd like to know if going for environmental management is a good choice. Although it isn't on d SOL but it is in on the CSOL. Thank you |
@bikky215 pls how much were u required to pay in order 2 accept ur offer at RMIT? |
Franksuccess:@franksuccess Thanks alot |
Franksuccess:Nice. The course is 1/1.5/2yrz but I have the option of choosing the 1.5 or 2yrz duration. My plan is to go for the 1.5yrz duration, then go for a 6months program afterwards, if need be, making it 2yrz in total that I'd spend studying in Australia. Although, I don't know if that would qualify me for the 2yrz post study visa, and if it has oda disadvantages...wah do u think? |

occie3:@franksuccess. Money na problem oh. I don't wantu start one program and later on change. My CoE haven't bin issued to me, so I can email the school and tell them that I want to change my course of study. Master of Health sciences, with specialization in health services management. The intake dates for the course at WSU are Feb and July. The tuition fees for the nursing program is higher than that of MHS. I was also told that if I'm studying nursing I might not have to time to work part time to earn money for my living expenses, because the spare time I would have, I'd have to spend it at the hospital. The occupations on SOL which I feel might be closely related to the master of health sciences (health services management) besides medical administrator are; child care centre manager, welfare centre manager and primary health organization manager. Please what do you think? Because I can tell Pfl to email the school and tell them that I want to change to the MHS program. Thanks |
occie3:@ossie3 I didn't see the PM u sent me, can u pls send it 2 my email. ogirima111@gmail.com. The problem now is that I've olrdy paid the 1st semester fees for the mph program. I'm considering sticking with the mph program and then applying for PR as a medical administrator since it's on SOL and it's also related to public health. Pls anybody in the health related field with PR experience can advice me on this. Thanks alot |
occie3:I read microbiology. I applied through pfl |
[quote author=occie3 post=52671725]@haliru and frank success This was the same situation I was in. From my experience majority of the schools require you to apply through an agent limiting your choice of programs. Sometimes the agents will even force you to accept a program you don't want because not every agent is affiliated with all schools and certain programs are done only in some schools. Very annoying. Nothing gets done best except by you. Haliru I was also offered mph at WSU but before making commitments my friends and senior colleagues back then in school that are in australia warned me that anything but public health. Infact a friend of mine from Ghana, writing the med exams and doing mph said mph isn't it anymore. They have removed most of the specialties eg Occu. Health and environmental health from the list. Community workers do most work public health workers do people with just diploma. Most public health jobs are done by nurses etc. Even if you continue mph through doctorate it doesn't guaranty PR. You can go ahead if you are planning to Ace any exams and do something else as I was adviced by at least 4 persons or plan returning to naija. Options I was given were health informatics, masters of medical sciences, above all every one suggested nursing "like if I had known kind of expression" After hearing that I just abandoned that and moved on after all no point paying that kind of money with no financial support from the school and running pillar to post post graduation. I had to change agent again as that's the new norm. Not that I cant do it by myself it is mandatory for the schools I was interested in. A point to note is that health professionals and even doctors not only from Nigeria do nursing via graduate entry bachelors or masters. It's the same fees as any other regular program. And it's about 1.5 to 2 years. Benefits are; you learn about the medical system, high job availability while you sort out your exams to practice, connections in the medical world and of course no worries for pr later. Because it's speculated that GP will be removed from the list this year. Finally only God knows tomorrow. If you feel convinced then please go ahead as our destiny's are in the hands of God. @occie3 @franksuccess @bamijide Thanks a lot for the advice. I really appreciate it. I've already paid my acceptance fees for the mph program at WSU. I jus learnt that WSU offers the bachelor in nursing (graduate entry) program dt u guys talked abt. Pls how easy would it be for me 2 swap to the nursing program, if I eventually decide I'd like to go for it, when I get to Australia. Thanks a lot for the info |

Good day! Nice write up. I gained admission into the University of Newcastle in Australia and I'm about applying for my visa. I'd like to know the required documents to be provided, when it comes to corporate sponsorship, in the case of the applicant's sponsor. Thank you omokay80: |
