Hmmm. It's not even funny. I don't really know about Canada but some marriages in this UK wey I dey is passing through hell.

Two months ago, I met a married lady where I was working. She was with agency. I collected her number and we started chatting (I didn't know she was married because she wasn't putting on any ring on her finger, lol).

I controlled her come my side make I comot konji wey full my body. I was playing music from my Spotify app to audio stero in my room. She liked the way the app was just selecting similar songs (Algorithm) and wanted me to transfer the APK (cracked version) to her phone.

Omo, I set up share it to do the transfer, lol and behold I started seeing her kids pictures and hubby for photo gallery under share it. Meanwhile, this lady don comot her clothes, wear my big polo we dey chill together.

I was totally confused. I just organised myself set up the app for her come tell her say I won sleep. Time was 11pm. That night was sth else. She disturb me tire, I no gree. She self come confuse, she begin fire questions what's wrong, I initially told her nothing but as she continued, I told her the reason. She won begin form "no be big deal" matter, I no gree.

Omo, I gats hold myself till morning. I discharged her come block her line. Once Nigerian girls test leverage the law here gives them, they start misbehaving. Tufiakwa

This is one of the main reasons why I don't really like Canada. At least here in UK, I dey jam guys and ladies for afro theme parties, churches, and so on.

It's the same issue my cousin in Canada is complaining about. Very cold and soulless. As his wife joined him last month, he begin dey recover his mental health

Most of the residents also live just to pay bills. Canada is so expensive. Just imagine over half your salary going for rent. Just rent. I havent mentioned other expenses, food and savings.

I think most people immigrating to Canada are still stuck in the idea of Canada twenty years ago. The country has transformed to worse. Lots of homeless people are becoming a usual thing to see.

In places like Finland for example, homelessness is unheard of. You cant find a single homeless person. Either illegal, legal, citizens or not. The system cares to prevent one from being too poor and cant afford house.

Its also so forking lonely. With such a vast area, visiting friends or even doing groceries is a core. From someone coming from Nigeria, Canada can be an upgrade, for if one is migrating from places like Europe, then its like moving to Gambia.

Infact the only anglophone countries that seems to be okay (not great but okay) to migrate to is New-zealand and Australia.

See the UK, US, Canada, and Ireland? infact its better you go to Poland or Brazil than go there.

I wanted to immigrate to Ireland or the UK few years ago, me sef was suffering from the wrong view of these countries. After visitin both, my brain reset and I just remain in my base.

Canada also, thats like a punishment if you tell me to go live there. Its like a golden prison. Expensive, soulless, boring, dark, cold, huge distance, isolation, and not feeling like you belong. How can that be home?

His uncle likely MARRIED the USA citizen BEFORE coming to the USA. So he could even get his Green Card within weeks of entry. I only used the word likely because one can't know everything, but that has to be the case.

Fiancee visa is also fast, where the non-USA spouse stays in Nigeria and comes over and GETS MARRIED within 90 days of entry.

The foreign person can also enter the USA on any other kind of non-immigrant visa, meet a USA citizen and get married and do ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS and get their Green Card within weeks and then citizenship in 3 years.

My advise to Nigerian-American USA citizens or any USA citizen is to STOP marrying spouses from Nigeria or the 3rd World, good thing is that the practice is on the decline. If you MUST do it, keep the person in Nigeria. Most people in Nigeria have no good intentions for their USA spouse, they only want to get Green Card. It's just not safe anymore. I have MANY friends or acquaintances who did both and even me myself used one of those pathways. It's been a long time since I had to deal with immigration so I'm not as familiar with the system, but I believe my comments are accurate. USA immigration is too easy, too risky and detrimental to the society.

What the heck, anyone can simply stroll across the border and claim asylum and get thousands of dollars in welfare benefits...that is LITERALLY happening and has been happening for YEARS. Any children born on US soil by that illegal migrant is automatically a USA citizen. The whole thing is either suicidal or some people have a long term plan to destroy this country.

you're right am on a isa cr1/fiance visa Facebook group and a lot of women complain a lot about how their Nigerian spouses leave them after entering the USA.
A recent one is a 63 year old African American woman who filed a k1visa for a 53year old Nigerian man and the left her after getting married and spending just 4months with her, she claimed he went behind her back after her brain tumor surgery to claim vawa with a lawyer.

For the land banking yes I love the idea. That was my concerns too…but seeing what guys are saying here I’m starting to feel somehow,, should I have gone with no money to offset my bills and start sleeping in peoples houses, or beg people to pay my tuition?. My tuition runs close to $32k. I have no money to offset this. And thinking I’ll find help when I land when I’ve already exhausted all opportunities to get another means of funding from other professor failed. My thought was “what’s the purpose of traveling when the funding to do research Kant there. Isn’t it just decent to stay back and reapply and look for other means of funding?’

Now, (attached) the other school which admitted me for Fall 2024 alreeey agreed to defer me to Spring 2025 with funding from TA this time, and not from a PI’s research (I told them I had visa delay issues). But from what guys here are saying, it seems I won’t be able ro get another visa since I’ve refused to use the one given to me the other time. Tbh, I just didn’t want to risk it without funding. Research for my PhD matter more to me than just Japa…I guess I’ve lost my chances at visa and I’ll probably try some other countries

Note: I had my Masters in the US last year. Came back home. So I was only going back because I was able to secure another PhD offer upon reaching home
