Zeeknow3245: I don't think we should underate biochemistry sincerely. Although it is unlikely for me to support them they are infact harder than medicine and Pharmacy according to Harvard List of hardest courses and I was quite amazed and I had to check other top institutions who even placed pharmacy and Nuclear physics and various branches of chemistry, engineering which was quite shocking. I feel strange writing this although I don't want to agree with it but it is the truth. It doesn't necessarily mean that because Lecturers are frustrating and hard and somewhat ridiculous make it same else where in the world, In some countries you frustrate students and abuse them, you will loose your Lisence. Most clinicals promote insult saying that because they want to modify to become good doctors, If the advanced countries where that frustrating, I doubt Doctors like Dr Maduka and others would have excelled If they were in Nigeria. They got the basis from here and left for further practice. Okay let us reason this why do you think they all like to travel abroad? You will say they have better pay, good facilities etc. The most important is that they value hardwork and they are accomodating once you have the skill and willingness unlike here were your professor is jealous that you have an idea and you will become recognised why they will be left out. Ask doctors who did Post graduate studies here and those abroad an see their excruciating pain. Even for ordinary courses they frustrate you and you will spend 8-10 years doing bullshit Phd and this trend continues. I don't know how true this is but I saw a pop up about a certain Leukemia cure that was invented by A biochemist and an Oncologist. In some advanced countries molecular biologists with certain courses can become oncologists by writing exams. I urge biochemists struggle and get outta here there are people there looking for young minds to nurture and train. Even medical students don't find it funny in pharmacology and Biochemistry they can testify of these. There are governing bodies all over the world looking for you and don't let people spew hate on based on fame and prestige. Struggle hard but I will never advice anybody to go for biochemistry simply because he was given in post utme instead of pharmacy or Medicine. Med lab will always be Pathologist Assistants no matter how put it even when you become a Lab director. In essence follow your heart and not the bid to be in school and show yourself before you end in misery. Thanks This is deep....you can see the medical student blabbing and saying all sort of things. Do jamb do putme Like it's an easy task....well I don't blame them It's the situation of the country anyway |

Did you do courses that the pass marks were 50% and 60%? Abi no be 40(E) be pass mark for BMS? You studied pharmacology yet you think practising pharmacy is what they can just give to anybody. Even professionals like doctors, nurses,Mls are not allowed to operate a pharmacy not to talk of pharmacologists Nah them Lol So you think there is no body or council guiding them There is,only that they don't look up into relevant issues or should I say they don't care |

sherylbakky: U are still saying this basic med with "igara"... LMAO
Nobody will even employ u in accounting field (they strongly deal with professionals)...we are talking about general banking e.g cashier, customer service/care or other organizations that also need less skilled worker like this.
At least to keep tins in place for a while, which does not mean u sud forget about ur dream. If anyone have to tell u d truth, dat's d two options av given u.
Lecturing job is not also easy to get in Nigeria of today.
Going back to school to study something better might b d best tho. And then we make it a continuous thread from one generation to another, lecturing!!! Nigeria is a hell on earth |

sherylbakky: I was talking about bank/insurance marketing and related stuff. Compared to these, medical sales rep is even better Why will a basic medical student go into a strange field that doesn't team up with his/her credentials. And which company will in anyway employ a medical student in an accounting field. It's a reproach and absurd thing to do. |
Education › Re: Fate Of Basic Medical Students After Graduation In Nigerian Universities by HammedOlanaija(op): 9:46pm On Apr 30, 2020 |
OJay360: Nah, that's is very wrong conception. There is a difference between a physiotherapist and a massage therapist. It's the ones that want private practice that open a center, most of them work in hospitals. Physiotherapy is more than just massaging, when someone is involved in an accident, he goes through physiotherapy, a stroke patient also goes through physiotherapy to fully recover, etc. It is called medical rehabilitation for a reason. people that do massages only( the ones involved in all those porn stuff) are called masseuse NOT physiotherapists If that should be the case,if we go into details then. It's only general hospitals that we have rehabilitation centers although some private hospitals might have too But at least there will be not more than 3 private hospitals with rehabilitation centers because they(especially the doctors)don't count it as a irrelevant system. And often think it's a waste of money especially in Nigeria |

MrEgghead: Initially, There were no degree programs for those BMS courses..They were just courses offered by medical students. But because of so much people applying for Medicine and end up not getting it, They had to create those departments to as leverage. Wow! I guess this is how we end up having BMS courses in the country |

sherylbakky: At least u laughed, i'm glad about that.
U'v truly got two options dear;
1) If time is still on ur side n u av sponsors, apply for DE n study one of d core medical courses with higher chances of getting job, not necessarily medicine, could be nursing, radiography, physiotherapy e.t.c
2) If u graduate with good grade at least 2:1, pause the pursuit of job in ur profession for now and start applying to other fields where u can get training right on the fields e.g banks and some other corporate fields ( please don't move close to "marketing"
My candid advise Marketing Pharmacology: When that same marketing is what most pharmacologists do in nigeria whereas none of them did maths or further during their course of study Most times you will get to see adverts requesting for pple with Pharmacology BSc degree to comman be medical sales rep Like wtf sales rep? After 4yrs....it's really crazy |

ayanbaba2: smiles!
...to become that lecturer is not easy, with my little experience.
...my Dept (BCH) has added only two lecturers ( graduates assistant) to their fold since 2008 when I was a fresher.
... many have completed their Msc in the school, yet no show at all!
NB; none of them die ooo, they are all Hale and healthy Abi ooo even the lecturer job is not easy to get.....You said none of them die but you need to know one thing after spending four years of my time and funds do you still expect me to be having issues with my day to day feeding...3 in 1 will turn 2 in 1 or 1 in 1 (feeding per day)is that a good thing When will someone not die of ulcer and depression |
