The truth was growing up, I was so Churchy and prayerful. Oh I remember those days, I don't take medication when I'm sick, I just pray and I'm healed. I sing hymns a lot then. I just don't know where I left all the churchiness or how. It just kinda happened and viola I am a full blown liberal. Not that I don't like being a liberal Christian, it's just that sometimes I wonder what could have been if I had continued on that part or actually grown spiritually. Now I can't even pray.
Well to be fair I miss the old me and old days, I just went off when I lost my dad I think. It's creepy that I'm just bursting my emotions here but I'm not one to hide. And don't get me started about challenging conservative christians and the Bible. That is my work, people hated preaching to me in Nigeria, they would come for a ten minutes talk and I would hold them for hours. I think I would like to be that boy with over flowing faith again.

Stop being too hard on yourself,
You need to GRIEVE and HEAL. Don't rush things. It will take the necessary time.

Allow the Holy Spirit to patiently comfort you,
We don't heal at the same pace, others move on quick , some take time.

Trust the process, God's got your back.
Maybe God will use this sad situation to make Himself known to you in ways you've never experienced before....
Trust Him....He knows. just make sure you stay close to Him.
That fire will surely come back.

Sex is one of the main ways that spirits get transferred from one person to the next.If you've been sexually promiscuous with many people throughout your teen/adult life - there are chances you have been exposed to someone else's demons. This is one of the many reasons why the Bible warns us to avoid sex out of wedlock.
AND NO, WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH IS NOT NORMAL.

And when these spirits get attached to you:
-they drain you of your blessings, your life just seems to be going nowhere,no matter how hard you work.
-you may also start developping an unstable character (not that you are mental),you lack personal discipline,
- some experience uncontrollable temper tantrums for no reason (has nothing to do with mood swings pregnant women have . This one is hormonal )
-finding/experiencing a fulfilling realtionship (even in marriage) is also a problem. In some cases, you seem to attract the wrong set of people only (players, violent people, cheats, toxic individuals etc)
AND YES, THESE EVIL SPIRITS CAN BE TRANSFERRABLE TO YOUR UNBORN GENERATIONS....
These are one of the most common impacts i know of.

Getting these unclean beings out is not a walk in the park cos they can be so damn possessive. But nothing is impossible with the TIMELESS, redemptive blood of our Saviour.

Because you can only heal from what you're willing to be honest about and admit (big applause to you),

-It's time for you to 'boss up' and make a real commitment to live for Christ today. And stay loyal to Him only. One heart, one mind.

-Throw out everything that always leads you into having lustful thoughts and sin because everything begins in the mind

- Dedicate time for prayer, Bible-reading

- Check previous threads, there are many examples and testimonies concerning spiritual warfare. They could be of great help to you. I got blessed by many here.

Many times we can get so caught up in the religious routines of life, that we end up missing our core purpose or our Lord's directions.
So many Christians have a preconceived notion of who God is and how He's supposed to manifest Himself in our lives.

Some base this on how they grew up, or what their parents taught them, or even what they heard in church.

But truly, what man can contain God? How can one mortal being know all the ways of Elohim?

The Spirit of the Lord wants to visit us in ways we've never experienced. He wants to expand our walls and reveal the hidden mysteries of His existence....yes He does.Jeremiah 33:3

He's just asking that
-You spend quality time with Him
-You walk with Him

All you have to do is to open your heart so that the Son of Righteousness can reveal Himself to you.

Do you mind if we talk about destiny helpers? Yes destiny helpers.

No man is an island....no one is an error. Sometimes God sends people to us to fulfill a purpose in our life, help us,, lift us, give us direction, to solve a metter etc. They may be in your life for a day, a month, years or even a few hours.... they may be known (friends, relatives, spouse, acquaintances), unknown (strangers, passers-by, angels) . They may be even those who do not like you ( ah yes yes! Everything works in favour of those who fear God)) or have different beliefs/convictions.

Most of the time, these helpers may appear insignificant at first sight or are not the type of people you interact with. These are usually people you will even not look at twice or even look at all if it depended on you. Some even slip by, unnoticed (angels do that a lot). But by the time their purpose is accomplished, you will feel their impact in your life tremendously. We all vaguely remember one unknown person we met[i] "by chance"[/i], who got us out of a mess, put an unexpected act (of kindness for example or maybe who saved us from danger)that touches us till today, who gave us a piece of advice that changed our world etc. Someone we met just like that and we've NEVER EVER seen again despite the efforts we've made to find that person.


I am sure many of us have have experienced it on this thread....

Once in a while , it is cool to give shout-outs of appreciation. Do not have the habit of taking things (even the smallest ones) for granted, cos tomorrow isn't promised.

-The deeper you go in the things of the Lord, the more your environment makes things harder for you
-The more you pray for your family and loved ones, the more the less they seem to value you, in fact you even become a laughing stock
-As if it wasn't enough, your job seems to be competing with the quality time you reserve for God; to find even a minute to be by yourself is just....aaaaarrrrgh!

Yes it's hard, very disheartening and discouraging...
But remember this:
you are NOT the only influence out there. You are battling with many other "influences"
Do not underestimate the power of prayer
You remember the story of the Israelites who were in bondage in Egypt? You remember one of the last things God required before Pharaoh finally let His people go? He wanted every door post to have some blood on it. This is to say:

You are the one God has chosen to sprinkle the blood of His Son on your doorposts; we talking about spiritual doors here;

No matter what, keep on sprinkling that blood on your different doorposts to keep every contrary spirit at bay...
Is it hard? yes!
Do we all feel like throwing the towel sometimes....? More times you can ever imagine
But the thing is....God chose YOU to stand by the gap and watch for a reason; In due time, everything will gradually fall into place and you who only knew in part at the beginning, will get to fully understand at the appointed time.

Press on and may the Lord keep on being your strength.

You are right, something in my spirit keeps telling me I need to seek God's face concerning this, I am really really distracted right now, someone posted about his job reducing his fellowship with the Lord, mine is even worse, its just as if the devil is using my job to make me a Sunday Sunday Christian, my brother, I can't tell you how much this hurts me inside, I sometimes resolve to fight, but it always ends right back in the spot I Started, I wanted to fast all through this December but am just recovering from malaria so maybe till January, but I know I just have to fight, thanks again.

Get close to trusted brethren to whom you can confide in and whose shoulders you can even cry on without feeling stupid.
People who will take time to listen (very important, sometimes we just need someone who can just listen) , pray with/for you and help you organise yourself and your time properly without you forsaking your priorities....

Some loads are just too heavy for one person to carry.
