It is clearly stated in the letter that you will be saying at one of the universities residences. I met a guy who had a similar letter from his school @ the embassy in Abuja and his application was accepted.

Juwohn:

You know officially, I'm supposed to pay ZAR850 as confirmation fee for Scul residence but i'll be getting an appartment outside instead so I made an arrangement with the dept instead..

But dis evening sumone was like dis doesnt cover so decided to post it here for advise before going to face rejection at the Embassy

good morning ppl. pls how can i get an accomodation letter to submit at d embassy. pls dis is urgent.

Look for accommodation online through gumtree south Africa or property24 SA or any of these backpackers or better still pay for your reservation in a hotel. Do not just book...PAY even if its for a couple of days so you can be issued proof of payment which you will then submit to the embassy. When you reach SA you can then look for a place within your budget.

Thank you!
I did not submit SAQA. And also it depends on how your school helps you cos mine requires SAQA but the wrote a letter to the embassy telling them that I have applied for saqa evaluation and it is not yet ready at the time of my visa application. You can ask your school to help you with that but you must apply for saqa first.

Just make sure you have any other thing esp your police certificate and health insurance. I paid for 6months insurance and was still granted visa. 6months is the mininum but please I advice to pay for 11months cos I will still add to mine.

Congrats Bros. Please did u submit SAQA certificate when you applied in Abuja?

I collected my study permit yesterday @ the abuja embassy. I advice anyone who applied in november here in abuja and hasn't heard from the embassy to go check. I just went to check and my visa had already been issued since december sef.

And I'm also grateful for all the help I got from the commentators here. Thanks a lot.

Its not 9am but 10am. Coming 7.30am is too early. you will just stand for hours outside and get frustrated. Its not like the give numbers by the gate, Just make sure you are there before or at exactly 10am.

Evening,
1. Please in respect to flights booking; do I need to pay for the flight before I submit my visa application? If No, am I to pay for the same flight reservation I submitted to the embassy which has a 72 hour reservation holding since i choose the 'pay later' option OR can i move on and pay for another flight on a later day?
2. how much is the visa processing fee for study permits; is it 8,600 or 18,000?
3. Do I need to photocopy my vaccination card?

Thank you for your help.

Thank you!
Will do as told.

yinksob002:
1) it should have a return date cos the embassy presumes that you are coming back to naija on completion of your studies. Also, you don't need to pay as its just a flight reservation not booking 2) Pls do a full year medical insurance. A lady was turned down at d embassy today because of that. 3) Repatriation fee has been cancelled so you don't need to pay for it. All the best

Do I need to buy medical insurance for a whole year before I can apply for my study permit?

Will 6months do?

yinksob002:
It cost me a total sum of R4,188 for the medical insurance using Momentum health.
