I just can't fathom how someone going for a PG study in South Africa will not know how to put a sponsorship letter together. That's why I ignored. I read one time that 90% of Nigerians that were denied student visas into the UK, were denied because they couldn't even fill the visa application form correctly, now I believe that story 100%.

I agree with @staggerlee ... Its amazing how someone who is applying for a post graduate degree does NOT know how to write a sponsorship letter.

South Africa has become very competitive and policies from home affairs change constantly you have to learn to work within the system
He shared an opinion most of us have here, its hard to fathom how our fellow Nigerians do not properly carry out research before coming here.

For someone who has an honours degree and masters degree from a South African institution, the advice I got here has been very benefical to my success. This is no paradise. Its all about hard work, patience and faith. We are here to help each other so do I do not like it when some does not appreciate such advise .

How long will it take to process?

The fact is once you submit your renewal application, you are not allowed to leave the country pending your visa outcome.

If you leave for Nigeria to renew there, just make sure you go with your SA police clearance. Kindly note that the SA consulates stop collecting applications early December. So please inquire before you make the trip.

Hi people.
First of all. Racism is personal not collective. As far as I know, I've never met a racist since I came to Cape Town last year. The way you treat people is the same way you'll be treated.

To my question please for those in Cape Town. If you want a faster processing for study renewal which would you suggest? Go very early to Strand street or jejely follow appointment procedures at Absa building? Or does it not matter?

Book an appointment with VFS whose ABSA building office has reopened to submit your visa renewal application. Your priority should be to have all your documents ready by your appointment date.

Good evening house.
I want to apply for a Ph.D in Capetown, Stellenbosch and Kwazulu Natal. Specifically, Stellenbosch catches my fancy but all I have read points to the fact that the school and the community is racist. This is making me have doubts about it.
Are these doubts unfounded? Do I really have nothing to fear?
I await your enlightening contributions. Thanks in anticipation.

Please do not let that fear get to you. You will not have any problems as long as you do not involve yourself in unnecessary drama but rather focus on your study. In the case of Stellenbosch university, it has an active Nigerian community in addition to lecturers who are Nigerians living and working there. It is a good university.

Contact the Nigerian Embassy at Pretoria. I am however not sure if they have resumed issuing passports as they stopped a few months back due to lack of materials. Do give it a try.

So after getting the funds transferred to my account I'll go get my own bank statement. That means my sponsors and my own bank statement needs to be shown

What the check is the inflow and outflow of money in the 3 months bank statement you submit.
If your sponsor has a stable inflow/outflow then submit your sponsor bank 3 month statements with a letter sponsorship duly signed by your sponsor.

The insurance fee is part of the school fee I paid that's why the school will be the one to do the insurance for me. I just read on dha website that minors in South Africa means 18 and below.

It seems you are in ABUJA which means submissions are Monday - Wednesday. 11am - 12pm.
YES...You are not a minor.

MMIA means Murtala mohd International airport in Lagos. Well that is if you intend leaving for SA thru Lagos. Its true. They are experiencing major backlogs at the embassies. If your school can get in contact with home affairs directly that wud be good.
But like I said you need to pray after submitting ur application.
naruto02:
@hankvoight thanks. I appreciate. But where's this MMIA? I called a number on the vsf website (I don't know where to get contact of those in the embassy)the man told me that study visa takes up to 3months and there are applications that's been submitted since November and hasn't been returned. I was scared upon hearing that because my training starts 10th February and I'm submitting the application next week Tuesday(could've been tomorrow but the police clearance delayed the stuff) I want to tell the school if there's any way they'll plead to the department of home affairs on my behalf to fast track my application.

1. You dont have to pay for the flight. It doesnt matter if it expires. You just need to make a reservation with intended travel date..print it and add it to the documents you are required to submit.

2. You need 3 months bank statements. You are to submit the statement for one person. If ur submiting ur sponsors bank statement make sure he/she writes you a letter of sponsorship.

3. With the current forex policy in the country... its cheaper for you to pay ur fees thru ur bank with a Form A request or you can use bureau de change for a higher rate. Also u can get Rand at MMIA but take note of the limit you can travel with physically.

4. Proof of residence in South Africa.

5. My brother you can include that but sincerely prayers what you need most here so they process ur visa in time to meet up with school.

Hello, please I have loads questions to ask.I want to get all my documents ready on Monday so that Tuesday I can go to the embassy for my study visa.
1. I want to make a flight itinerary/reservation with southafrican airways but I don't really understand the thing. There's an option that says you pay before the next 72hrs, no way I'm going to pay for flight before my visa is approved. If I don't pay the reservation will be cancelled and submitting a cancelled reservation in d embassy will be a problem any way out?
2.how many months of transaction is to shown on my sponsors bank statement? Also do I need to get my own bank statement too
3. When I made the 1st payment I had to give the money (naira) to someone to change to dollar and send to someone in South Africa to Change into rands and pay for me. Please is there a simple way I can get rands with my naira?
4.Does proof of residence mean the proof of where you'll be staying in South Africa or where you're staying here in Nigeria.
5. The school stated that the lesson is schedule to start on 10th February and there is a space in the form that said "any additional information you wish to bring to the departments attention"
Can I plead for fast approval because the starting date is so near?

NB: I have my yellow card, med and radiological report, acceptance letter from the institution(stating the total duration of program and also the address of where I'll be residing) I'm expecting the medical cover tomorrow(Monday) and also the police character report.

Hello. Please where can I get the yellow card (vaccination for yellow fever) in Abuja and how much does it cost.also the medical and radiological report (I think I can get it in maitama district hospital) but I don't know how much it'll cost. Finally the visa fee which is 8600 and service charge 12,000+ (what kind of service are they offering like that) can the service charge be ignored

You can get a yellow fever vaccination and card at the ministry of health. Shud cost arud 1500- 2000. Just hold enof money. You will need to do a chest xray at the hospital n also need to see a doctor for your medical history. I am aware of Garki Hospital fees (xray N4000, consultation N2500) keep those figures in mind. And yes you hav to pay wateva service charge d ask you to pay.

You can change from study to anything, you can change to spousal from study. The only visa u can't change from is is visitor's/tourist visa

The enquirer is not on a study visa but rather applying for a visitors visa as she wants to go get married.

You wont be able to change your visa from SA. You will be forced to come back home as getting a spousal visa will be very difficult to get. Whether you get married in SA or in Nigeria, you will have to apply from here. I have met a girl who was on a study visa in SA who had to come back to naija to apply for a spousal visa.

pls when SAQA saying they have sent d mail to d institution and ur school is saying they dont receive the mail pls what are the step you took to get the certificate on time pls give me guidelines

You keep asking the same question and I believe DIAMOND1960 has given a good directive. Go to your school and ask them to send a confirmation letter again as advised. SAQA is an organised body and they will only process ur documents when you meet all the requirements.
Also ask your school to Cc you in the email so you can have proof.
SAQA will take max 4 weeks to evaluate ur documents in the worst case scenerio.

than you for your response so how much do you think will be enough cos I have only 800,000 and hope it wont be a problem if my hubby doesn't show any document as stated before?

and please am confused with the visa fee am seeing 8600 and also 12090 does it mean that am paying 2690 twenty six thousand ninety naira for each application kindly help me clarify this.

thank you.

Yes you will be paying for each application. VFS will confirm the exact amount. Yes you can submit the application with 800,000 stated as money available for spending but sincerely if that is all you have for your trip plus flights/accomodation and spending, I would recommend you re-evaluate ur budget afta putting aside thr key expenses. I believe you will get the visa with all proper documents but u need to make sure you can afford the trip.

A signed letter of sponsorship from the owner of the bank statement. Pls do not go with conflicting documents.

Good evening gurus, please I want to apply for SA visit visa with my family (5) three children, hubby and I. We don't know how much should be in my account since hubby monthly income is low and I earn better so am planning to use my company introduction letter that am going on vacation along with my 3 months pay slip, tax card, offer letter and promotion letter and my pension statement up to 1m, 3 months statement of access, do you think is enough for the application with out my husband document since am applying as the main applicant.

Please house how much do you think we need for a 7 days vacation and do you think we have better chances is our first time of traveling out side Nigeria Let's say I have 800,000 will it be enough?

Thank you guys

As a family of 5 in my opinion, if 800,000 is what u will have budgeted for spending on the trip after paying for flights and accomodation then yes it will be enough since its a 7 day vacation. However, if thats all you have to budgeted to cover up your all the expenses; I would strongly advice that in order to enjoy your holiday, you will need way more than 800,000 budgeted. Thank you.

'Provisional offer' Means you have been accepted because you meet the requirements; it is left for you to accept the offer or not.

You can use a corporate account as long as you have a letter from an executive/owner/CEO of the company identifying with you and their commitment to paying for your tuition/upkeep during your study with the said account.

Juwohn:
then for the proof of financial status can someone use a corporate account then maybe the company will Introduce someone
