Thank God u know note 4X would perform better dan redmi 8... 4x has full HD display as to 720p on redmi 8. Aluminium build as to d plastic on the redmi 8. Go to GSM arena and compare!!! Redmi Note series are generally better dan just the redmi series be it past or present!

Redmi 9 is better than Redmi Note 9 in terms of CPU , GPU (gaming) and battery performance.
