Someone said Burnaboy must have killed himself with laughter by now.

So, yesterday, our dear darling Tonto Dikeh co-hosted Iyanya’s Kukere London Concert. And at some point during the show, Tonto fell flat on her face! And here’s how it happened! *biggg winksss*

Tonto Dikeh had ALL the signs that she was either high on alcohol or drugs when she came on stage to perform last night. I was told.
Her song was playing for her to perform but she kept telling the crowd that she can’t wave because she did not shave her armpit. Then she put her hand in the armpit, staggering and shouting, that when she was in America they showed her love.

All this time she was supposed to be performing, next thing she fell!
The MC had to get her off the stage, reportedly because they realised she was messed up.. She kept staggering and shouting. I learnt she actually got booed off the stage as well.

The suspected leader of the gang of
gunmen who murdered 11 policemen at
Lobia creeks, Azuzuama, Southern Ijaw
Local Government Area, Bayelsa State,
has been arrested.

The leader identified as Jackson
Fabouwei, 25, was paraded in Yenagoa,
the state capital, at the Sector 2
Headquarters of the Joint Task Force,
codenamed, Operation Pulo Shield.

Fabouwei known in the underworld as
Jasper Boro Junior was arrested on
Thursday by operatives of the JTF and
other security agencies around Ekebiri,
close to Azuzuama.

Fabouwei admitted leading a group of
seven gunmen that killed 11 policemen
who were on an escort duty.
The victims were drafted by the former
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kingsley
Omire, to go and provide security at the
funeral of the mother of an ex-militant
leader, Mr. Kile Torughedi, popularly
known as the Young Shall Grow.


Torughedi, who was the commander of
the South Wing of MEND from 2002 till
2009 when he embraced the amnesty
for repentant militants, is currently
serving as the Senior Special Adviser to
Governor Seriake Dickson on Marine
Waterways Security.


On their way, 15 of the policemen
travelling on a wooden engine boat
were allegedly ambushed by Fabouwei
and his gang who killed 11 of them
after a gun battle that lasted for over 40
minutes.

While three of the policemen escaped
the attack, one was kidnapped by the
gunmen, who were said to have later
collected N1m ransom to set him free.

The Chief of Staff, JTF, Col. Farouk
Yahaya, who paraded the suspect, said
JTF and other security agencies had
been working round the clock to bring
the killers to justice.

He said Fabouwei was arrested through
sound intelligence gathering by the JTF
and other security agencies.
As part of efforts to round up the killers,
he said JTF conducted series of
operations in Lobia, Ukubie, Ezetu, Ekeni
and Azuzuama.


“This led to the arrest of some of the
suspects, the destruction of their
hideouts and recovery of some of their
arsenals.
“These JTF operations destabilised the
criminals and put them on the run while
the deployment of troops in Azuzuama
and Loboa made those areas
uncomfortable for them,” he said.

He said the JTF would hand over the
suspect to the police for further
investigation and prosecution. [Punch]

One of the most famous martial arts masters of Spain, Juan Carlos Aguilar, 47, has been arrested for the murder of a Nigerian prostitute in Spain.

The 29-year-old Nigerian woman, Maureen Ada, was allegedly beaten up by Kung Fu martial artist Juan Carlos Aguilar and left in coma after the assault. She was found by the police at Aguilar's gym after a passerby saw him drag a woman by the hair inside his Buddist temple and alerted the police who came and took the woman to the Basurto hospital in Bilbao where she died on Wednesday morning at about 12pm.

Late Maureen was taken to the hospital in a very serious condition after being found badly beaten all over her body and with her hands, neck and feet tied.


Investigation by the Spanish police revealed human remains of a Colombian woman in his house whom Juan Carlos admitted he had killed. Police said he may be a serial killer.

Juan Carlos was a star on TV and he was fond of walking on coals, breaking bottles with his fingers, defying gravity in spectacular positions and passing his tongue on a hot iron without burning.

Initial press report states that Aguilar had won a number of competitions and championships for his martial arts skills but the Spanish Karate Federation has issued a statement clarifying that it has never had any association with Aguilar and that he never won any Kung fu competition in Spain and the Shaolin Temple Spain, the only center in Spain that is recognized by the Shaolin Temple in China, also confirmed that Aguilar is not a Shaolin master and nor is he a monk.

Omawumi opened up to Thisday entertainment contributor, Seun Opara, on the reasons why she does not like discussing the paternity of her daughter. She said:

I never hid my child's paternity but I felt that since I'm not married, I don't need to come out and say this is the father of my child. It is always ideal for someone who wants to marry you to be the one to identify himself. Another thing is that he might not want to identify himself because he is not an artiste. He might not want that part of my life. He might just love me and my child. So I like to respect people's privacy. I also strongly feel that it is my job as a musician to entertain you and if you feel like my personal life is your business, it doesn't mean I feel the same way.

Initially when I got pregnant, I didn't feel the need to come out and start telling people that this is the father of my child. I didn't feel I owed it to anyone.

My family and my close friends know who the father of my child is because we’re in a relationship. We have a very healthy relationship and our families are intertwined. I don't think I need to start telling people all this.

I felt so bad about the stories people are writing about my child's paternity because normally, controversies don't get to me and my daughter don’t have to be part of this. So when people start putting that kind of stuffs in print and my daughter stumbles upon it when she is old enough to read, it will hurt her.

Considering the kind of upbringing I had, I'm not that morally bankrupt that I will now fraternize with a married man that is like a father figure to me.

I don't feel that will be necessary. I just want to use this opportunity to tell people that I will try as much as possible to be a normal artiste and I want to encourage people to try and enjoy my music. It’s not easy but they should just try not to be concerned about my private life. They should know that I'm a human being and they should try to understand that I tried to be a person that people can look up to.

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Review of the Constitution, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has said if the committee’s recommendation on single tenure succeeds, President Goodluck Jonathan will sacrifice his presidential ambition in 2015.

Ekweremadu, who is the Deputy Senate President, also said some governors would sacrifice their second term ambitions in 2015.

He stated this in Abuja on Thursday while explaining the fate of the President and some governors on the proposed six-year single tenure amendment to the 1999 Constitution.

The deputy senate President said, “For us, it would have been easy to say let’s put it six years and let whoever wants, including those who are available now, let them benefit, so long as it will help in keeping overheating the system away.

“But we don’t want Nigerians to say that we have colluded with the executive to give tenure elongation to the President and certain governors. That means somebody instead of staying for eight years; he will now be staying for 10 years.

“I think it will be easier for someone to deal with the issue of making a sacrifice than for someone to have the period for 10 years; I am not sure what our colleagues will say. If they say that those who are there now should benefit, that is fine. Those who are currently serving should be able to excuse themselves and say we make this sacrifice on behalf of the system.”

Ekweremadu recalled that the President was one of the persons that called for a single tenure of six or seven years.

The deputy senate president said, “He (Jonathan) was grossly misunderstood. They were saying he wanted to get a third term; he wanted to elongate his tenure and all kinds of things were said.”

He also said his committee did not insert a specific time frame when the amendments would take effect.

Ekweremadu added that the constitution would take effect as soon as the requirement for the passage of each amendment clause was met.

He said, “Since we did not provide for any particular date, it means that as soon as the Constitution is passed, it starts; that is the implication.

“Unless you are suggesting that we put the time frame when it will start, but in the last amendment to the Constitution, we did not put any time frame for its take off, we also did not put in this one.”

He argued that it was certain with the current amendment that the President’s assent was not required to authenticate amendments to the Constitution.

According to him, it is an absurdity for the President to sign the amendments given that two thirds of the members of the National Assembly had been secured, which is the same requirement for overriding the President’s veto.

He noted that since the state assemblies also passed the amendments by two thirds, it would mean that the bill would be sent to the state governors for their signature since the law required the governors to sign bills passed by the state assemblies.

With regard to the new Section 136 relating to the Vice-President succeeding the President in the case of death, Elweremadu explained that the new provision bars the Vice President from running to succeed him, after completing the six year single tenure of the President.

He said, “You will recall that in Venezuela, when the President died, their constitution provides that the Vice President does not automatically take over. Fresh elections take place that option was available to us, but we considered the cost of elections.

“No democracy looked like the other one, we had to look inwards to see the one that works for us and we said the President dies and if the Vice President can finish the tenure; and having completed the term, there should be no extra mile to get himself back to the office that normally causes crisis.”

Ekweremadu also restated his views that having state police was the best for the country, with its vast population and size.

He however said it had to be droped because of the majority views, arguing that although he was Chairman of the committee, his business was to articulate the views of members of the committee and that of Nigerians.
