Emmizay12:Lol. Certainly I will do better than my father. And I will not begin to do things that will cause my son's falling than rising. |
Some of you are saying he did the right thing. Assuming the money I used to buy the oil wasn't even mine? What if it was contribution money or a loan somewhere? |
I need good advice on what to do. |
I am very very angry right now. I couldn't sleep last night. That is why I'm bringing this here this morning before I do something very bad. A father should be after the growth of his son and not after ruining him. Please you guys should help me look into this matter. I understand that it was a matter of life and important concern. I'm seriously struggling in the city to eck a living for myself and do the little I can for my family also. My father was a petty trader who hardly can provide adequate for the family. Some of us who come from a very poor background would understand this better. I mean coming from where absolutely nothing is kept for you. No support from the family and nothing, nothing and nothing. You are the one who die and same you would have to pour yourself water to come back to life. You, you and only you. I buy fast consuming products and supply to people and make some gains from there. Sometimes I hawk the products. I was able to save up to N150k. Around May this year, I went to the village and bought some rubbers of palm oil and store them to sell around November/December and make gains. Last week, I got a call that wind pulled off our house roof in the village. Since they are using small torchlight phone, I didn't get to see how serious the situation was. Even though I didn't have money, I sent N15k to help fix it. My father later called me and complained bitterly on why I sent just 15k, that according to the carpenter, that materials and workmanship would cost N65k. In my mind, I was just like, does this man even know how I survive here in the city? For two nights, they didnt sleep in the house as the wind pulled off the rooof. On Tuesday, I learnt my younger brother was being operated of Hernia. I know about the hernia but was under plan to raise money for it. And I knew there was no money to settle medical bills for operation. So I was shocked where they got the money to do operation. As I traveled down yesterday to see them, dear Nairaland friends, all my rubbers of palm oil has been sold and the money spent on fixing the roof and paying for the medical bills for the hernia operation without my notice. I am not taking this kindly with my father who engineered the whole thing and I want to arrest him to refund my money. That is my life investment and it took me so much to raise the amount. Due to how things are now. I even wanted to sell two rubbers to invest back as the business is facing challenges now. What should I do here to recover my money back? If I have another money, I would over look it but that is my life investment of my labour.

BabaCommander:You are waiting for a neighboring country to protest for you? |
Na me support write this kind post because I am in the same situation. Seun, Nlfpmod, Mynd44, etc We need comfort. Words of encouragement |
Jamestown123:You are very right. Palliatives can never get the main people. Oga them at the top would corner everything. 2020 was a year to learn alot. |
Seun, Mynd44, Nlfpmod |
Jamestown123:People are not happy with the situation. If they could be government-owned buses on the road at reduced fare rates, it would help a lot especially on the transportation aspect. |
eepeepook:Is that car tracker? |
id4sho:Where? |
Odin13:Isoright |
Odin13:Is there a family who wouldn't want to be favoured? |
Difficult times indeed. |
Stealing, armed robbery, kidnapping etc likely to increase. Any period of extreme economic hardship is likely to rebound with criminal consequences. It's a simple economic principle. When it's too difficult for people to survive, taking up any of the aforementioned is inevitable. Dears, except you are not living in the country or you live above the average in terms of earnings, you would understand that this period is a very tough one for Nigerians. You see people complaining bitterly. In the school environment, the staff, the students, the business people everybody complaining bitterly. When you enter the street, you see the worse. Hawkers, market men and women, taxi drivers and all complaining and murmuring bitterly. In my neighbourhood, 3 car batteries have been stolen from people who parked their car outside the last one week. A week before last, a man parked his Lexus to see someone and before he returned in less than 20 minutes, the battery had gone. He shouted and ran around to no avail. It was even in broad daylight. Yesterday, another man parked his car and entered a compound to see someone. Low and behold, before he came out, the car magically developed wings and flew away. It was like a movie scene but in reality. Till now, I dont know if the car has been recovered. The man almost went mad because of his Toyota Corolla. This is to state that the decision of government has direct impact on the people. Therefore, don't rule like you are ruling trees in the forest whereby your decision has little or no effect on them. Whatever is the intention for removing subsidy, such decision is not something you take so carelessly. No palliatives and nothong to cushion the effects. At least, if goverment had bought buses to states across the country to carry people at a reduced cost this period, that to some extent would have reduced the transportation effect but nothing of such. I may be wrong though, so please do you have any of such in your state/city? Monetary gift. We learnt the governmemt was planning to give poor Nigerians certain amount of money to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal. Who has received here or knows someone who received? To the best of my knowledge, nothing of such. You just used your inaugural speech to declare "subsidy is gone" without assessing the impact of that declaration on the people. This harsh economic situation would certainly increase crime. We had thought after all we went through under Buhari, a new goverment would give us some reliefs but here we are into more trouble. Whoever is close to those in power should inform them that Nigerians are really suffering and the hardship will push them into crime including revolting. To end it, I would say, help someone anytime you can. People really need any help they can get this period. The consequences on fuel increment from N189 to N550 is heavy on Nigerians, especially struggling Nigerians which incidentally I am one of them. God knows i really need help. I rest my case. |
So many will be trekking to work today especially salary earners. |
MASTAkiLLAh:Tell me more about that. Is it going to increase the price? |
Carmanbiz:As in eh. The man just took the decision as though it was ever that easy. |
helinues:May be na private jet u dey use. |
Happy Sunday to you all. |
Truly the economy is not smiling and commercial drivers are not smiling either. They mean business o. So I wanted to go pick up something somewhere yesterday and didnt have the complete transport fare. Before subsidy removal, the same distance used to be N200 but it is now N450. I had only N300 with me and thought I could help beg a taxi driver to consider me. You won't believe once I flagged down a cab and say, please consider me, I'm going to so so place and I have only N300, the next thing you see is marching of throttle and voom, they zoom off. They don't even have time to listen to your plea, after all, no be them be Tinubu wey remove subsidy. I stopped over 7 vehicles and none agreed to consider me for N300. They prefer to even drive without a passenger than picking someone for a lesser fare. Las las, I had to call the person that I will pick it up some other time. I have also seen in several occasions people arguing and fighting over price differences. The commercial driver would argue this is his fare, the passenger would argue "oga na lie", leading to physical slug out. Funny. Naija, i hail thee. Share yours. |
Great. Good Nigerian musicians are recognized globally. |
