This life can be frustrating at times but life just has to go on. I can't forget that time during NYSC. I used my first Alowee to buy bicycle in the middle of April and after a month My wallet got missing with all my all my money and ID cards and ATM cards (NYSC ID) inclusive. And a month after again the bicycle was stolen.

I'm a 28 years old Muslim guy with no serious relationship and pressure has started coming small small from my mum (you know African mothers). Though I'm not too bothered with the pressure but I definitely need a lady around. so something around early September I approached a Christian lady (CCC to be precise) and she said yes. She has even once spoken with my mum and my mum doesn't really have problem with her because her own father was also a Christian and she got married to a a Muslim. But my fair is that I don't know much about CCC but right from my childhood I'm always scared of them because of this common negative mentality we had about then as children. so pls do you think it's a go for me I should withdraw gently as her mother has even called me once for questioning when she noticed the girl do visit me and she knows that I'm a Muslim.
Pls advice is all I need and not abuse.

It is now I understand what being strict does, it makes you live a life of pretence, cos when I got into University I wanted to explore everything  I didn’t have the chance of doing at home.

I drank alcohol like crazy, smoked weed, hung out with rich boys, partying, doing drugs but when I go visit my Parents, I still act like that innocent girl they have always known.

My Dad’s strictness led to my Pretence, if he had drawn me close like my mum did, I would have been a better kid.

When parents use strictness to shut down a kids curiosity instead of guiding them, you are making matters worse for that kid. Because eventually that curiosity will lead them into adventures and exploring all those things you refused them to..

Looking back, al the flogging I received from my dad only made me more stubborn and ruthless.

You can still explore without doing smoking or doing drugs. My dad is like yours and all He just created between us is a kind of enmity as anytime I remember his act towards me when I was younger I his hatred will grow in mu mind but I don't show it sha. I still maintain my coolness and keep on thinking of how myblive will be better.

I lost my grandma to jusy a mark from wall gecko at her ankle which after few days became a small sore which in turn became a very big one before taking over her whole leg and eventually she later died after spending huge amount of money.

it got more interesting knowing that you studied physics in your undergraduate while the most interesting part is that we're doing masters in the same area of specialisation even though im still a local breed (UNILORIN) pls nobody should laugh so that I won't feel inferior by comparison.

Yes it's possible. If you can dedicate at least 3 hours daily to learning you're good. Get good tutorials and ebooks on Linux, Command line. For programming i would suggest python as it is quite easy to learn and understand.
I can suggest a few books for you.

Learn programming (Python or Ruby for a start), master Linux and the use of the command line. Solid foundation there.

Is it possible to combine this with my teaching job as that's the source of little income that I use to sustain myself.
