1) Sexuality is not a choice. People don't choose their sexuality,it's something they are born with. I have asked you before how old you were when you decided to choose heterosexuality but you haven't answered.

2) Fighting for the removal of laws and creating awareness of those laws that causes discrimination plus bigotry is not shoving things down people's throat. The fact you think so it's shocking.

3) It's doubling because people there are no longer hiding who they are because they are protected by law and not discriminated against. It has nothing to do with exposure or Media. If you are born heterosexual, nothing is going to make you attracted to the same gender likewise for homosexual .

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was drawn up by the UN and all member countries took part and agreed to it including Qatar. It's not something that was created from thin air by America.

Culture is the way of life of a people. There has and will always be culture; culture evolves, and some faster than others. Your believing you don't need a "cultural construct" to dictate the way you live your life is a culture in itself, one you share with those that hold similar belief.

That's why Aristotle said, "man is a social animal." No one can survive in isolation.

You need the elements of culture, which are language, norms, values, customs, and beliefs (religion), to socialize and relate with other people.

And yes, culture is a social construct. All things we humans use are one form of construct or the other, including the religion that Nigerians cherish the most.

There's no man without a culture. Have you seen one?

My hypothesis has been, Trump appeals to people who are scared of losing power. White Males etc. They are scared of losing Power to minorities and women. I think that is where my dad fits in. He's not white but a successful man. And so he enjoys the power the social construct of the past, esp. Nigeria's past affords him. What's sad and frustrating is that the Republican policies he advocates , if successful would directly harm him. He has a very very good pension (I think it was 95% of his salary when he retired) and his salary was very good. And so it's amazing watching him cheer on Republicans as they talk about scaling back pensions or scaling back Medicare, which he is on as well.

It's unnatural to say that people should shun their culture. Cultures, as Prof Hofstede, one of the foremost anthropologists of the modern era, said, are the software of the mind.

They're mental programmings, like religion, a key aspect of culture.

You can't do without having a culture, just like you can't survive without air.

However, people should shun bad elements of the indigenous cultures and do away with those customs and beliefs replete with superstition and barbaric practices such as ritual killings, the Osu caste system, burning of so-called witches and wizards who might have some mental health issues, etc.
