I want to ask when did u purchase this very car and also if u can remember the name of the dealer that sold that particular car to u? Between wednesday and sunday the car never overheated but there were activities going on in the car because you bought new battery and fuel but you never added water or coolant on a car that has been sitting idle in a car lot for months. If Dh knows about cars, he could be able to detect if it was rightie or leftie but because of the beauty, you were carried away and forgot to crosscheck a 1.6m investment. Did you check the water level all the while the car was with you before they called you that it was overheating? Is there a warranty on a naija used car and who dare gives that? Cars45 is an initiative to provide solutions to a problem that no one could resolve. Before in every nook and corner, you will find crap cars being offered for sale and some will rot away while waiting for buyers but the solution these guys provided has practically eliminated the ugly scenario. If they repair the cars they buy from Nigerians before selling them, then we say that they are fraudulent but they sell the cars as they buy and in the same condition that they bought it, they sell with documentation of the faults. Can anyone beat that?

This matter is a let down to our mechanics that nigerian used cars are scraps. It shows clearly that their efforts are not being felt in the general wellbeing of vehicles in the country. An over used car from switzerland will be in good condition than a brand new car used for 2 years in Nigeria. That said, the car overheated on the second day of uber business and not immediately after it was driven out of the yard? What if in the course of buying and fitting new battery, they mistakenly disconnected the fan? What if with the euphoria of getting a new car, they never bothered to check the water level? I have been at their Agindigbi office looking for a venza and I saw a Range Rover sport for 2.5m and I ran past the car and the venza report was so extensive that the clients dedeclin to buy the car. They sell as is and if you guys call those as is craps, then it is a shame on the gurus in the house that the results of their expertise is being questioned. I also went to Cotonou to buy a Range Rover Sport and you can start the car and drive a little around the park but you can never test the gear if it selects above 3 and we paid and taking it out we discovered that the gear was defective. The seller was indifferent and the buyer was shouting himself sick, threatening fire and brimestone and I was not an expert in Range matter , so I managed the car to the border and called for a gear specialist. Gazzuzz himself runs an inspection service and the Op that wants to buy a car did not take advantage of the service to protect her investment. Cars45 are a new idea and they are on the right path. How many used car dealers present a car history details to a client before selling the car.? Even to buy a car at berger, people go with their mechanics and when it comes to used cars with experienced kazeems laying their hands on such cars, you go there and buy without taking a mechanic along. Paid? By whom? Judge not bros and read well without sentiments. It is a naija used car and it was taken out from the yard without overheating. Imagine what kazeems rewires do by permanently making the fan to work. Most times they attach the wire to the battery and in changing the battery, the op forgot to put back the wire. You know what will happen. If the issue arose as they were driving home from the cars45 depot, I will join in the shout but after 6 days, haba. Let the Op tell us if the car was overheating when it was presented for uber? He joined nairaland on the 18 of february 2018 just to tell us how he bought a naija used Toyota corolla rightie that overheated after 6 days and then issues began. Who did he take the car to when the issues came up? Timi or gazzuzz or deportivo or kingreign in Abuja or even Mayor2013? A roadside rewire that complicated issues. I wish cars45 will notice me and send me that range rover sport that i once saw there. It will make sense.

Bros hmmmm. Why does Gazzuzz render pre inspection service to would be buyers? To save them from deceitful dealers. If I buy a Nigerian used car from you and you told me that you have been servicing it at Elizade and you have no service history to show, and I in turn sells the car as I bought it from you without any repairs but documenting every issue good or bad with the car for the buyer to be iinfomed and he choose to ignore it, is that fraud? Can you go to Berger and buy toks without a mechanic? So why cry over a car you bought naija used without a mechanic? Autojosh has been writing rubbish in the past but this time he got it right. His question is can Cars45 buy your car in 45 minutes? No one has sold to them and everyone is using the other thread to judge them. They buy a naija used car with severe poor maintenance and sell without repairing it. They have never told the seller that they will pay them after they sell the car, no, they pay cash. Bring a better solution and if you dont have, give them the credit.

Read well before you spew rubbish. The first corolla they saw was 2012 and they saw 2009 written on the belt and they moved on. The one he now choose was a 2011 corolla and he did not say he checked to comfirm the date. If you need glasses, i can send one to you because you are in need of one. There was a story on front page about a guy who gives all the details about a car before you buy and people were praising him and meanwhile the craps you call cars are also being documented by cars45 and una say na scam. All you guys could say is scam. Why did the car not overheat when they drove off with the car? How long did the car stay with them before it overheated? This is envy. This cars45 brought new ideas that is a solution in the industry. Bring yours and lets see what solutions that you are providing.

My sympathy flies to the unlucky op.
If you have kept the car as evidence and obtained a police report with photographs and documents detailing the anomaly "2008 car sold to you as a 2011 car. You would have a case.

Unfortunately the principal evidence has been returned to the fraudulent sellers!

The fact that the car was sold 'as is' is ineffective defence if the car was misrepresented to you.
You rightly believed you were buying a different car!

A magistrate wdcould have voided the contract and most likely slammed them with the option of either replacing the car or refunding your money, may also compel them to pay you interests, damages and cost of litigation.

I'd it were me, I wouldn't have given them the luxury of selling that car back to them! I'd have looked for a way to fix the vehicle..... so many pros here on nl can do justice to the situation out of sympathy!

I'm sure they were banking on the fact that u will return vehicle and they will eat their cake and have it! can u imagine how many times they have recycled that vehicle for non interest income? kai ...... smh

I disagree with you on this. I can't buy a used car without the opportunity of a test drive, even if it's from Elizade. And considering that truth is turned upside down, once you deny me an opportunity to test drive, I walk away. No arguments.

However, your perception of the judicial system is also wrong. You have got evidence to support your claim. Some law firms will take the case for free & perhaps, share profit if the case goes in your favour. I think you should seek justice if your narrative is anything to go by.

When buying a using car in Nigeria, a test drive is a mandatory requirement.

I guess we were more trusting. Like I said we had our mistakes
My perception about the judicial system is practically from experience. (Have you taken any1 to court before? I will like to hear your experience)

You may not know much about cars, but you certainly should know much about Nigeria. It's bad enough having to contend with shady sellers of Tokunbo vehicles, Nigerian used vehicles would be literally war.

towards the end of last year went to that same garage at ikeja close to the fun park ..to see a Honda pilot that someone had advertised ..to be honest I was not impressed with the cars I was shown and mind you I did not even see the exact pilot that was advertised they kept showing me different ones ...thank God I know a thing or three about cars..one of their strategies is that there is no space created to test drive ur pdt and also that hall is poorly lit. In the end I just strolled over to the park by the side cooled my already annoyed self with a bottle of beer and left no arguments ....@op so sorry for your loss I know how painful loosing such huge amount is but I strongly believe that such dubious methods of repackaging and selling unfit cars should not be encouraged....If a big company like cars 45 should practice such ,how much more others ? Then @ op next time since you do not have much knowledge about cars pls take an experienced trusted hand with you. Also if it's very lcheap then shine your eye like Dino melaye
