Let me Put this to Encourage someone!! ©️Moshkom.
✅ VISA APPROVED (Direct Approval) 📍 Lagos Embassy 🗓️ 13/05/2025 🪟 Window 3 🎯 First Attempt 💰 COA: $57,555 🎓 Funding: Fully Funded 📉 Deficit: $0 📚 PhD in Physics 🏫 University of Florida
My interview lasted for about 12 minutes.
I want Thank God first for this Journey.
My interview was scheduled 8am but I got to the embassy by 6:45am I knew where to go to because I visited there a day B4. Before I was interviewed a lot of blues were seen flying.. I just want to say this *Please do not CRAM* just know your story
Interview proper
Vo: pass me your i-20 and you passport please.
Me: here U go, good morning sir (with a smile)
Vo: what do U want to do in the US?
Me: I am going for my PhD program in physics with a concentration in computational physics at the University of Florida (I stuttered in the first three words).
Vo: how many schools did you apply to?
Me: I applied to three schools, University of Florida, University of Pittsburgh, University of Alabama....(he didn't let me to continue be asking..)
Vo: so why this school?
Me: I choose University of Florida because of the perfect alignment of my interest with prof Bleep whose research focuses on the use of computational techniques such as DFT calculations and ML simulations to understand the properties of materials.. this research is relevant for me to address the limitations in using and relying on only traditional experimental methods for research in Nigeria
Vo: so how's that? (I was very confused with this question but this point he was staring at me.. so I figured he wanted to know what areas computational techniques could address this limitations)
Me: In my recent research on synthesis of copper antimony sulfide nano crystals where I worked as a research assistant......we needed to substitute different hilides to form halogen with sulfur, we could do that with experimental methods which would take a lot of... But material studio a computational tool could do that and simulate results in hours... (he nodded, I guessed he was pleased)
Vo: (looks at my I20 )how will you be funding this program?
Me: I got a graduate teaching assistantship which covers my tuition, living expenses and health insurance and I got this by submitting a competitive (I didn't want to say this word at first but it came out anyway) application consisting of my transcript which reflects my strong academic background where I graduated at the top of my class with a CGPA of Bleep, my statement of purpose, 3 letters of recommendation from my undergraduate professors and I was invited for an interview by prof Bleep my graduate coordinator and prof Bleep, where I elaborated how my research aligned with prof Bleep and why I choose this school (At this point he was typing really fast, and there was this little silence so I asked)
Me: can I Tell you about my research (even though I knew I have said it a lot of times b4)
Vo: No it's fine.(After some time)
Vo: so what will you be doing after graduation?
Me: Immediately after my graduation I will be coming back to my Alma mata federal university of technology where I currently work as a graduate research assistant to take up a senior researcher role which will position me to train teach and educate young scientist in the use of computational techniques as a substitute to experimental methods, I will.....vo cuts in
Vo: slow down...(With a smile)
Vo: have you been to Gaza before?
Me: No officer, I have not (me too with a smile)
Vo: Alright, I will be approving Ur visa, this paper will tell U how to collect Ur passport.... (I no hear anything again)
I took the paper and ran 😂😂 before they call me back, because this person had denied about 18 persons B4 me. All my time in the consulate I only saw him giving one approval.
And to God.... Thank you Jesus 🙏🏼🙏🏼 |

SEQUIN: Hello everyone question please, I’m filling out my DS 160 form for my F1 visa interview( undergraduate ), I’ve been denied a visiting visa when I went with my dad a year ago. Do I fill that I have been denied a visa before under the question have you been refused a visa ?or do I pick no and be silent about it lol — you want to Lie, when they can clearly see your refusal date. You better don’t put yourself in soup. |

Tomi111: Good morning everyone
Please I want to ask, if one updates the DS 160 due to some mistakes and resubmit.
Will the visa officer have access to the old DS160 or information on the day of interview? They can if they want to — but you should file a ticket before you go for your interview to merge old and new together. |

Well, Until Applicant Faces Pointed nose Reality go con set in. Best of Luck to all Applicants. On a standing fact, Mentioning One's relative who is already living in the states does not and will not = to Approval either way. OyoTunjiUSA: 🤠
1. I accept constructive opinions or correction, but read and re-read before correcting. Go back and read this part : Except if your family or relative mentioned is a criminal or committing crime in America. So anyone, whose family or relative have commited VISA fraud in AMERICA is a criminal. If you mention that person during the course of your application, your VISA application will be rejected.
PS: Anyone can mention his or her family or relative residing in America , if those people are not criminals. And believing that mentioning your family/relative residing in the US during your VISA application will jeopardize your VISA success is a FALLACY. Period.
American laws even allow any family of known criminals, the equal opportunity for all, if such family member (s) proved non-criminal histories or tendencies beyond reasonable doubt.

THIS Is why we say DIY!! Marshallow29: Please help!
The agent helping me randomly went to pick an appointment date for 2026 January in the previous website without even informing me. Please can the date be changed to an earlier date without paying for another MRV fee? I also found out that my email login for the old website was also wrongly spelt. I don’t know if the email can still be corrected? Because up till now, I haven’t received any email in regards to updating my profile in the new website I don't know what to do. I've been checking everywhere and refreshing my email, nothing is coming up. What's the way forward peeps? |

OyoTunjiUSA: Hey 🤠
1. Your B1/B2 was denied back in the year 2019 because you did not qualify, and you failed to prove the attached requirements to the consular officer. It did not happen because you have a relative in the USA. The thinking that, mentioning your family member/relatives living in America will jeopardize your VISA success " IS A FALLACY. Except if, those family or relative (s) mentioned are criminals in America . Even if you have been filed (PR, K1, etc) for, that does not mean that you cannot get a USA VISA prior to the conclusion of your pending application.
2. Go ahead with your F1-VISA application. Failure in B1-B2 does not mean failure in F1- VISA. US government or American leaders are just great thinkers or reasoners. If you are qualify in your present VISA application, you will be granted, regardless of past failure (s) or how many times or different kinds of VISAS you have applied for.
Should I say :
PS: This was the reason i ignored your post initially (until you reposted). Nairaland does not allow teaching of lies , or cutting corners on VISA applications. So how do you expect someone to be violating official (USA embassy and Nairaland policy) rules publicly? A lawyer 😔
Best Wishes 🙏 “It did not happen because you have a relative in the USA. The thinking that, mentioning your family member/relatives living in America will jeopardize your VISA success " IS A FALLACY.” I do not think it’s a FALLACY, In my opinion, it might be part of the reason(s). The question should be “How did that person get into the States, and how long have they stayed”. When you get into the US on maybe B1/B2, F1 and refuse to come back to your home country, then it simply means you have decided to Immigrate, whereas a NON - Immigrant Visa was issued when the Applicant was applying. So, in some cases - it affects the applicant who wants to Follow the predecessor; Best Way - Including your Ties in USA does NOT and Will NOT guarantee Visa Approval, Rather it may Alter your Future Application, especially when you’re switching Categories.. |

Yes please. Twindado: Good morning people,
I booked an appointment (family of 3) scheduled for Sept 11(IW) on the old website (ustraveldocs.com) and I have printed out appointment confirmation as instructed on the old platform. Up till now, I have not gotten a link to the new platform. Reading from here, I got to know that the new drop off address is 14 Idowu Taylor Street, Victoria Island. What do I do about this? Should I go ahead on the 11th September to the drop address to drop my documents? @OyotunjiUSA any assistance from you |

MimiNg: Of cos they conduct interviews, but i think it's just for formalities sake. I mean when you come for collection. Agent rate depends on the agent, but ranges from 500k to 600k How can i connect with you? |
Travel › Re: Polish Student Visa by Hayormide212(m): 8:57pm On Aug 26, 2024 |
MimiNg: Una still wan book appointment wen their quota is full for issuing student visas and they are rejecting 98% of visa applications. They don't even bother going through your documents. Wen u come for passport collection, they won't bother printing a list of names of those whose docs are ready for collection, they will just collect a copy of ur passport data page, go inside and tick no 10 or no 9 for all who came for collection that day.
Going to Poland for studies is just a waste of funds, even those that appeal no 10 will then b rejected on no9. The security will encourage you to appeal that they love appeal moni, that too na scam.
I don't think they even issue up to 10 visas in a month. So there is still a little chance for you to get it.
U can try your luck, but u can't get appointment online, u hv to use an agent to book it. Are you saying they aren’t Conducting Interview ? And more-so what’s the Rate of booking through an Agent? |
