I think it's time for the govt. to look into Nairaland maybe shut it down for a bit and force them to moderate this forum. The amount of ethnic hatred and religious intolerance on this site will only bring forth generations of people who feed on the hate being generated on this site. I am afraid of the consequences of that. The Rwandan genocide is not too far in memory......Please let us all demonstrate some responsibility on this forum..... For the future of our children........And YES I AM A CHRISTIAN..
God help us all.
Technology MarketRe: Unreliable Cyberpower Inverters by hazelj(op): 11:51am On Sep 30, 2013
@Dunka their batteries are good but they are Gel batteries and most chargers are not configured for charging Gel batteries properly. The float voltage for Gel batteries is different from that of SMF lead acid batteries. As for their inverters i would advice you to tread with care on that.
Technology MarketRe: Unreliable Cyberpower Inverters by hazelj(op): 5:02pm On Sep 26, 2013
@digi101 they finally agreed to fix it under warranty after I spoke to someone there. I have been looking at this inverter the 1000w version and I need to find out something about it for me. What is the floating voltage for the charger on the MUST power inverter below? I have checked the specs on their chinese website and I saw maximum voltage 15.7v and i know that will ruin my batteries if that is the case. Also does it really have a 3 stage charger? How much power does it use for charging as per gen? I need to be sure my gen can comfortably carry it because as they said it has a 35 amp charger. How efficient is the conversion because i know it has a transformer and i don't want to have the Cyberpower experience again.

Thanks.
Hope you are not the dealer.

Cheers.

@digi101 they are not being overloaded the 3.5kva comes with free installation so that's not the issue. I had a 2.5kva sukam for 4yrs b4 that 3.5kva and I never had issues with it. I think it is only fair that if u r a major dealer if a product is under warranty u fulfil the warranty. I have brought customers to these people. I brought a friend who bought their expensive Prag batteries so I expect them to at attend to customers. I have already decided not to have anything to do with them again. If they fix it and it becomes faulty again, I'll simply go and buy another more reliable brand.

@digi101 The 3.5kva suddenly started making loud noises and smoking one day and I shut it down. They were charging 50k to fix it. I told them i felt that was not reasonable considering the inverter was just a month outside the 1yr warranty but they insisted. I simply bought the 1.2kva which was 25k at the time because i simply could not understand why i should pay that much for that crappy inverter anyway. I used the 1.2kva for 4 months and it stopped inverting first. I took it there and after a lot of argument they agreed to fix it under warranty. Now barely 6 wks later it has gone bad again and this time they are vehemently insisting i pay for the repairs. I told them (PRAGMATIC TECHNOLOGIES) that if i pay for the repairs i would inform the general public about the way they treat their customers. I am still waiting for their response. I have been using inverters for a long time and i have even helped friends to get but luckily i never urged any of them to buy Cyberpower. It would be a big mistake for anyone to do that.
Technology MarketRe: Unreliable Cyberpower Inverters by hazelj(op): 9:10am On Sep 25, 2013
@digi101 nice observations but i already am aware of most of the below. When the 3.5kva stopped working, I decided to buy their 1.2kva inverter as a stop gap because they were charging me 50k to fix something that in my opinion was not worth it. That is the one that i am currently having problems with and their technical repair staff do not want to fix it unless i pay money. I have friends that have used other brands Sukam etc and once it is under warranty and you bring it for repairs no questions asked they will immediately take it in and fix it. My major grouse with them apart from the problems with the inverter is the after sales service. If you are dealing with PRAGMATIC TECHNOLOGIES pray that your inverter does not have issues. Better still avoid them.

This 3.5kva inverter was the worst inverter i have used since the almost 9 yrs i have been using inverters. Just decided to try them because its a european product but i was highly disappointed with its performance. It beeps continously when there is no power you have to manually stop it from beeping whenever there is no power which is terribly annoying, then i believe the conversion efficiency is very poor because i could never use it for more than 3 or 4 hrs with minimal load without it going to low battery even from when the batteries were new. I had to resort to just sleeping with it and using only ceiling fans with it still by morning it starts beeping after carrying 2 fans for just 6 hrs. I believe that is an abominable performance for an inverter that i spent 160k to buy.

Still battling with these guys to fix my inverter under warranty since the inverter is less than 5 months old. They are still insisting on collecting money despite having fixed it some weeks back under warranty.

This is to inform the public to avoid Cyberpower inverters sold by Buyright and Pragmatic Technologies as much as possible. I have used 2 of them and the most recent one has been sent to them for repairs twice in the 5 months i have used it while i have been charged N50,000 to fix a fault in the previous one i had which hardly makes any sense. The worst part is the customer service from the dealers (Pragmatic Technologies) who try to extract money from you at all cost if it gets damaged even when it is under warranty. This is done by insisting on collecting installation fees from buyers to exercise their warranty. As far as i am aware they are the only dealers doing this in the market now. The 3.5kva I had before was terribly inefficient, it doesn't last up to 4 hrs with 20% load, this could be due to the huge fans it has which keep drawing current from the batteries when it is in inverter mode despite costing N150,000. It also used to draw large amounts of current from my 6.5kva gen when charging. Of course no one will tell you this until you have bought it and it starts affecting your generator. It ended up frying my batteries and even stopped working at some point, i took it for repairs and was told to bring 50k to fix it. I do not deal on inverters and i am not suggesting any particular inverter for anyone to buy but please stay away from Cyberpower inverters and pragmatic technologies. The stress they will put you through if you have issues with their products is not worth it.
